I just ordered my Moto X Dev Edition during the Cyber Monday madness sale. I can honestly say that this will be the only phone I could enjoy on stock firmware, but I was wanting to use Cyanogenmod on it just because it features WAY more convenient toggles and controls. I would hate to miss out on Active Display and Touchless Controls. My question is: has anyone tried going into the Play Store and instaling the Touchless Control apk on a custom ROM? Does it work? I know it's entirely based on it's "always listening" chip, and not software, but I'm worried Motorola might be restricting that feature to stock firmware.

Cyanogenmod has some sound issues, specifically the head phone jack does not work, dialer only works as a speaker phone. The stock ROM with xposed frameworks functions better than any cm 10.2 or 11 or any custom ROM. You get all the customization available with almost any custom ROM but with all the perks that the stock ROM gives, touch less control and active notifications

People say that, but I've never seen Xposed mods that offer the convenient toggles and status bar brightness slider that CM offers. That, and I can't find anything better than the native theming. Any suggestions?

Q&A for [ROM][M7][SEP2014] AICP - 6.0 - KK 4.4.4
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer. Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
I've had this flashed for some time on my M7_UL because it functions so beautifully.
I love it so much that I've forgiven it for making my phone crash 50% of the time when trying to answer a phone call, and at other random times about once a day. Not sure if the newest 7.0 release has fixed that or not.
One feature I'd suggest is enable some sort of default CPU O/C controls and maybe smartassv2.
EDIT: Didn't mean for this to end up in Q&A

Even though the rom now supports wake gestures, the Wake Gestures xposed module doesn't seems to recognize it. It says the kernel doesn't support it or it's not enabled.

You need to flash a kernel that supports wake gestures. Elemental x for example.
Wake gestures are not support in th Stock M7 kernel.
Elemental x is for sense based roms. Not for aosp. And if this rom doesn't support wake gestures, whats this?

The problem still remains the same. I used Elemental x as an example (mainly because I don't know which kernels support wake gestures for aosp roms.)
But the fact remain weather a Rom support wake gestures or not is irrelevant if the kernel running it doesn't support wake gestures they won't work. These gestures are an after market feature for the m7. Only the m8 supports Wake gestures officially.

Currently I'm using dt2w with the AICP's default kernel... So doesn't it means the kernel supports wake gestures?

Looking at the main thread it would appear that wake gestures are a "work in progress" for the kernel with that Rom. :good:

Hi, is it possible to restore the old s2w and s2s behavior? I would love to update to 7.0 but since the new kernel, I can't wake my device when in deepsleep, or it needs 5 or 6 attempts. Can anyone advice me which kernel I need to flash?
What firmware are you guys using with this ROM for the m7_ul? I've got the ATT version and I want to make try to get rid of some freezing issues I've been having.
Andriod L having problem with Gallery Settings
Hey thanks for the ROM. Just flashed it and everything working great except gallery setting for now. I didn't checked all the apps. Just seen few.
Can it be used with multirom?

Now, can somebody give me the apk of the Google Keyboard. It's not available from Play Store in our country. (Don't know what's the latest version and that's why I didn't googled it)
Tethering Issue
This only affects certain carriers. The below fix worked for me.
Do this from ADB shell:
settings put global tether_dun_required 0
and reboot. Tethering will work once again.

Hi guys,
Just flashed latest nightly of lollipop.
Is the kernel included in the zip best for stability and battery time? Or is there an alternative to be recommended?
A few things I noticed :
Performance settings in ROM control leads to an empty screen that allows searching for all control panel items, is that intentional? I expected kernel tweaker?
Can the x pixel battery bar line be added?
Under settings, and screen, I have an advanced settings headline, but nothing below it? http://i.imgur.com/KYJWJP7.png
What is the status of lollipop in terms of mods that are ported? A lot from 4.4.4 is not ported yet, and xposed can't help due to art runtime. I am aware that lollipop is VERY different from kitkat, and I am not nagging about 'when will x and y be here', just a status from HQ about the transition from KK to LP
Does anyone know about customizing the soft keys and enabling logo key? And does the standard kernel support it?
Any way to customize toggles on kitkat?
I got the wrong apn settings from my carrier, but I guess that's their problem (or mine for running an unsupported Android version they probably do not detect correctly)..
Any way to remove carrier text and camera /call shortcuts from lock screen? So far I have found a guy who will mod system ui apk......
All in all lollipop is awesome, and running superb!! :good:
Thanks to all devs for their time and effort :good::good:
Kind Regards

Battery line at the top of the display. On AICP KK edition it can be 1 to 4 px thick.
Toggles and shortcuts, fair enough
Kernel advice / options?
I miss the Xposed framework, and the rom options for customization, but I will be patient, lollipop is very different from kitkat, and the work being put into this by devs is truly amazing!
I have had a few instant reboots, that's all the problems with this rom so far, and that's really very acceptable

hello,
i'm using light flow legacy on my OP3T with OOS 3.5.4, franco kernel and root but my notification led is not working properly. the root option in light flow is activated but sometimes it does not what it should.
especially when the battery is below 15% the systems low battery light starts flashing even if it is not activated in light flow. other notifications do not flash in this case.
i don't want to use the OOS notification control because i don't like charging lights. how are you handling the notification led per app? if anyone has really working light flow or another app, could you please post your settings?
thanks!
I have the same problem with notification LED if battery below 15% because now the red pulsing LED have top priority so if i get a whatsapp message the notification LED don't turning to pulsing green. this is very bad because i don't see if i get a message.
I use my GravityBox module exactly for this purpose as It has an option for disabling battery charging light.
So if you use xposed, this is one of the ways how to get rid of charging LED.
thanks, I'll try it!
I assume a custom kernel with "notification led control" is essential to get apps like Lightflow working or does anyone have success using Lightflow with the stock kernel?

Don't know whether lightflow needs any changes at kernel side but it doesn't make sense to me why it should. I'm using my own led control implementation that's built-in in GravityBox and led control works fine with stock kernel and ROM (well, colors work but custom blink intervals not as they seem not to be supported by led driver). It's a premium feature though.

The reason I am asking is because for me Lightflow is not working with the stock kernel. It seems that even with root Lightflow does not have enough access to the leds to overwrite the behavior of OxygenOS. And I wonder what this "notification led control" means and if it improves the situation.

GravityBox has "Ultimate notification control" feature which is a comprehensive solution to notification control. It's utilizing Xposed framework so allows some specialties that are not possible using standard LED apps. Attached are some screenshots of all the settings which can be controlled on per-app basis.
GravityBox itself is my open-source xposed module project I've been working on for over 4 years. It provides plethora of features that can be seen on custom-roms and basically brings custom ROM-like experience to stock ROM preserving things like stock stability and other stock functionality (e.g. camera experience) which is a win-win situation. Ultimate notification control (UNC) together with possibility to backup/restore settings are the one and only features among many that are premium. UNC has trial mode so you can freely test whether it meets your requirements. Link is in my signature.

Oh hi! I used your module some years ago and would definitely give it a try again as soon as Xposed is released for Nougat. From the screenshots it seems to support everything that I want i.e. per app settings for color and on/off duration.
I always wondered if the huge amount of features of GravityBox will not result in some additional instability. That's why I tried to get my Xposed stuff done with several smaller modules instead of your "One for everything" module.

i tried to disable the low battery light in gravity box and the light stopped flashing. but light flow does not work on low battery.
i think i have to give your notification control a try. regarding the custom blink intervall i hope a dev will implement something in his kernel.
I want to do factory reset because of android system using too much battery and just thought of trying lineageos since I'm wiping everything anyways.
I know camera quality is worse and live display isn't as good as night mode, but is there anything else?
Sultanxda's Lineage OS has almost the same camera quality as Oxygen OS.
Not much, and still you can get away with less battery usage ? unless you're using some power hefty apps or try to many energy saving things which will cause the opposite.
Also camera quality issues can be solved by using either Sultans camera mod (available as recovery zip file) or CameraNX which I use.
And I don't see whats so much better with OOS night mode. LOS is quite customizable when it comes to color temperature.

can you provide this camera you are talking about? I have tried RR but left because of the HORRIBLE camera. The paranoid camera didn't impress me either. I find OOS's to be much superior
Use sultanxda version of Lineage OS, not only camera app.
I use Sultans marshmallow. It's the bees knees

On the contrary, the latest version has battery idle drain problems.Apart from this problem, this is almost the perfect ROM
Thanks to multiboot, I made a lot of comparisons between OOS (betas and stables) and Lineage OS, and I can say that OOS is very stable, is more battery saving and is much more smooth.
On the contrary, LOS is more customisable, but for me one feature is missing in LOS roms: the possibility to have a different ringtone for each SIM.
The one thing I find to be incredibly annoying is that there is no way to disable the heads-up notifications from appearing on the screen when you are using the phone on OOS. There is no 'mid' priority mode in the app notification settings that you can set which allows sound/vibration and the icon in the status bar but disables the interruption. There is also no status bar shortcut for quickly enabling and disabling the headsup notifications in OOS. But this feature can be found in LineageOS and I miss it the most.

I was wondering about that.. I flashed it on a full charge and I'm at 87% with no usage at all. Flashed and sat.. was going to get everthing set up but I'm concerned if I even should at this point. That's a lot of drain after doing this while plugged in ... in my experience anyway. I know LTE uses a lot of battery but after only about 2 hours off the charger and on Wifi, that's odd to me. Hmmmm...

Hello everyone! Discussion to the different versions firmware, beta and not beta! The question is:
But weren't we supposed to have the adaptive battery and adaptive display option on Honor Play? Nobody talks about it.
I hope it was not a fake function!

Never heard of that ?
Doesn't the adaptive display mean the unwanted dimming and brightening of the screen at random times?
