Hi guys, I will tell you my case.
Buy the Mi 9 6GB 128 GB cell phone from a Chinese store (Alie ...)
The phone is a Chinese version, the seller sent me the phone with the GLOBAL ROM, so it came with the bootloader unlocked.
Then I decided to stupidly block it.
Previously I had a mi note 3, Chinese version with global rom, I never read about the new policies of xiaomi, I read them already when I could not start my MI 9 haha, it is very sad.
The only solution I have given is to make a flash in EDL mode
The question here is that an authorized edl account is required, which I have searched for trust services (s-unlock, unbrick.ru, martview) and none has the service available at the moment, I have contacted 5 people via whatsapp of the which 2 tell me that if they can do the service and the other 3 that at the moment the service is not available like this, I realize that maybe it is a scam.
Please help me if anyone knows of any edl service

how did you get this sorted mate?
yes this problem need EDL mode with AUTHORIZED Account i tried like 7days keep trying flash in EDL mode it's always said "You are not Authorized" something like this
then i send to shop that can send to china for fix this problem it's no cost to flash back to china rom with locked bootloader but i paid for they fix i removed back cover by myself
xiaomi china won't charge you for reinstall rom if it's on warranty
so you have to get Authorized account way only for fix this problem
my device is Mi9 Lavender Pink 8/128

Good Morning,
I wanted to warn you to be very careful with this store. They have sold me a phone apparently with Global ROM and first of all that the mobile has been removed the seal and the bootloader opened, the day after receiving it I started to update it since the Custom ROM was very bad and I tried to use the OEMIFA version ( What should be) for this mobile, apparently all good but trying to boot ... The mobile remained in boot loop, I contacted the seller and only knows how to give me excuses and long, he gave me the contact of an "engineer" and it that this sends me to a forum MIUI to solve the issue, the forum that sends me is another model and above with the obsolete info.
The problem is that the phone now has a closed bootloader and also does not allow flash any image even the official China, if you put it in EDL either because you need to have everything authorized and nothing ... the seller continues washing his hands, I have said that I want a change of equipment and that I would take it to China and do it there to avoid expenses and nothing at all, impossible to reach an agreement.
For all this I want to warn you of the way of working of this store, the terminal arrived in a few days, well packaged and others but the after-sales service is ominous, null.
This is the link of the product.

OK, I said yesterday to seller on one of my messages of Aliexpress...That I will make it in a different forums, youtube, etc...
I cant waste my time, my money for more time.
If they not give to the users ALL the info about your products and the restrictions in the use, all of we can bricked our phones... And lose the time, the money
I think that they must change my phone for a new unit because they NEVER SAID ME nothing about they was unlock my bootloader before the shipment and the most important thing... That nobody user can lock the bootloader with a Global ROM because if you make it...you lose it!!
Just wrote this message to the goldway user "TheCityAndTheStars " in the other post :
The reason is.... ALL bricks can be solved if goldway gives you the actual binded MI account !!
I think that there is an easy solution for those people with bricked Mi8 with bootloader Relock
The may reason that people stay bricked is you send the phones unlocked with an MI account created by you, and IT´S BINDED to device, so .. if user want to use unlock tool... not possible cause user can´t bind their own account.
If you go to developer options, the bind option is greyed out
So, SOLUTIONS:
1 - Give the user instrucctions to unbind YOUR MI account.
I bet you must created an accound per device, cause an account can unlock a device for month.
This solution works only if not already bricked
2 - Give the user the id an pass from the actual binded account, so, the user can use official unlock tool to do the job .. unlock the same device with same account is possible and no wait time needed. (AFAIK)
With that solutions, no need to send device to china, user can unbrick the phone, you can aviod a lot of problems cause there a lot of cases of brick for relock (cause if the f...king default option in MiFlash).

Any update? Is there any chance to get the xiaomi account from goldway or unbind it?
I have just restored my mi8 from hardbrick after I got hopeless, it was not booting at all because of anti-rollback, after I tried to restore an Oreo twrp Backup after an unsuccessful flashing of a Pie ROM.
fastboot was not accessible, nor recovery, I've searched for solutions here and there, and found that the only working method is flashing a fastboot ROM via EDL, but this requires an authorized account for EDL, and xiaomi are not giving authorization anymore,
I contacted Xiaomi Global service, a Xiaomi Distributor and the seller and no body helped,
Thank Allah Now I have my phone working again thanks to S unlock dot com,
first I was very afraid that it would be a scam, but it is legit.
it will take about 5 minutes and costs about 21 $, but it is worth it, the only things you need are the following:
1- PC
2- fastboot ROM ( if your phone is Locked China version then use only china MIUI), if your phone is unlocked you can flash global MIUI.
3- XiaoMi flash tool
4- normal USB-C cable
5- TeamViewer
6- S-unlock account (free can be created in 2 minutes)
7- Payment method (Paypal is available)
I would like the guys at S-Unlock for saving my 500$ phone !

No it is not, I just wanted to assure to fellow bricked-phone-owners that the site is legit, and not a scam, since this is the only way to restore their devices without disassembling them.
I'm sure that S-unlock dot com is legit but they answer when they have time and they want to be paid in advance.
I will try to get my money back through PayPal.
I paid 20 euros and 2 days ago and I'm still waiting for an answer. This is not very good.
I found this one that is very fast and reliable

Did the job in 5 minutes and I paid after.
My Mi8 is alive but I will sell it.
Xiaomi ARB is crap like notch and notifications.
Tomorrow i will receive my new. ONEPLUS 6T.
Paid more but free to mod with still valid warranty, with a very big modding community.
Bye bye Xiaomi
Hi,
So I got just the Xiaomi Mi 8. The seller said they installed global rom thereselves and therefore I wanted to install the global rom from Xiaomi so I know I got a fresh rom with nothing added in the background.
So I used the Xiaomi Flash program and flashed it with Xiaomi Mi 8 Latest Global Stable Version Fastboot File.
Now it boots in recovery mode and says "This MIUI version can't be installed on this device".
I tried to reflash it with Xiaomi flash and it gives me an error " Erase is not allowed in Lock State".
So I tried to unlock via the Mi unlock account which tells me it can't because my account isn't signed in with the phone. Go into settings and sign in which I can't.
So I am a bit stuck here.
I read only people with special EDL accounts or Xiaomi service centers can fix this issue. Is that correct?
I live in Australia so there is no Xiaomi service center near me. I don't know anyone with a special EDL account.
What do I do from here now?
Thanks,

I am very sure you did "Flash and lock" because it is default option in Xiaomi Flash tool. Your only option is to send it to the seller for him to unlock it. Or maybe if you can boot to fastboot then you can get token from getvar command but I don't know what to do with it so you have to figure it out.
Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk
Yeah I did. How was I supposed to know though. The Xiaomi app tells you nothing of it. That's what I have usually selected in the past.
Seriously if this is the only way the fix it then Xiaomi just lost a long term customer. They need to warn their customers if they want to allow stores to have access to mess with the phones but no access to customers to repair that.
Unfortunately 2018 Miflash versions have default option set to flash and lock, not flash_all like before - so its easy to miss it and lock bl during flash.
You have bought chinese variant with unlocked bootloader by xiaomi dev account. Your only hope now is to... open the device, do a testpoint flash with chinese rom with Mi Account authorization and then unlock bootloader by your own Xiaomi account. Getting Mi account authorization is the hardest point here.
Due to such accidents, NEVER use any tool for this action. There are a bat file for Windows and sh file for Linux OS's included in the compressed file you've downloaded, you just need to run the desired one. It's completely closed to any accidents and you can delete those two files that will end you up with locked bootloader for further attempts.
Any idea where I can request mi account authorisation?

Did you bring your phone to the seller?
No. The seller is in Hong Kong. I'm in Melbourne Australia.
How can I actually check if I got an authorised account? I found a account auth in the Mi flash program and tried it and it just says my account is bind to this computer now. How useless is that? Isn't it meant to tell me if I got authorised status or not ??

actually Xiaomi is not in the fault here, as you purchase phone which intended for China, whereas you should buy the global version.
Xiaomi did due to lot of people buy chinese version and use global rom and sell it again as global version.
you supposed to search and know all risk before purchase phone which not sold officially in your country

I would say Xiaomi is at full fault. They know people flash Chinese phones to get away from all the spyware and crap that sellers put on to the phones.
People talking about bricked phones somewhere on the internet/forums does nothing to warn people. If Xiaomi knew they would brick people's phones this way then they should warn you in their MI flash program. It is just low and very disappointing as I really do like Xiaomi products but if they are just not going to support their customers or warn them basically not at all then like I said they basically lost a customer who won't be buying any of their products any more.
And what a bout all those people who bricked their phones as soon as the Xiaomi Mi 5 or which ever it was came out and there was no warning on the forums at all. Was it their fault as well?

And how do I find out if my account is authorised? I think I might of authorised it some years ago but I don't know how to check.
When I tried the account_auth.exe and put my log in details in, it said verifying and then gave me this message:
" This Computer Is Bound To Your Account"
What does that mean?

like I said, why you buy chinese version in the first place? you can buy global version from country which Xiaomi sell Mi 8 officially (like India, Singapore or Malaysia). if you buy global version, you will have global rom out of the box and won't brick your phone in the first place.
if Chinese people want to flash global rom, they need to request unlock to Xiaomi which Xiaomi will explain what can bricked their phone.
actually Xiaomi never recommended their phone to be unlocked. you know when you want to modify any system which not officially supported by the manufacturer, all risk is on you right?
and Xiaomi is more friendly to enthusiast community compared to other OEM. only OnePlus and Google itself who I know is more friendly than Xiaomi.
but enough who is fault, as this already happen and you need to solve your bricked phone right?

what I mean is that you try to find people in that forum who have Mi Authorized Account and contact them. they can do two things, one is they lend their ID (but I think it's nearly impossible) and second is you send your phone to them and they will unlock it.
other than that you won't have others way and your phone will remain bricked
Fair enough.
Though I am sure my account is already authorised because I requested it on the Mi website maybe 2 years ago and the Mi flash app says I am "This Computer Is Bound To Your Account" which according to what I read online means my account is authorised.
If that is right, can I open the phone myself, unplug the battery, plug the USB in, connect the two test points and flash with Mi flash?
Thanks for your help.

You always can give it a shot, but if there are any Xiaomi shops in your country, the official thread says that you can hit them up for a help. Give it a try and see if you can get your phone rescued. I guess the only way to learn if your account is authorized is just trying.

from what I read, the binding to your computer doesn't mean your account is Authorized.
and what do you mean by request via Mi website? you mean you request to unlock your bootloader? if yes it's different, as I have account that can unlock bootloader but not Authorized Account.
Mi Authorized Account can flash rom without bootloader unlocked, whereas the one you request I think is permission to unlock bootloader, not bypass bootloader.
from MIUI forum, you need to check first. did you receive pass from sms or email? as stated below
It will ask for your authorization pass if your Mi Account is the authorized one. You might have received the pass via email or SMS on your registered mobile number. Otherwise, it will recall that your Mi Account is not authorized to flash the phone.

I am not sure. I did that about 2 years ago. I am sure it was on a website but I could be wrong as well.
I just followed this guide:
http://en.miui.com/thread-2820162-1-1.html
And i get the exact same as that last photo - My computer is now bound to this account, you can start.
I suppose if my account isn't authorised I will just have to pay one of those online websites to teamview my computer and use their account...
But I can send the phone back to the seller. They will charge me about $30 USD(could be more after they actually get it) and they told me they will send it to a Xiaomi Centre in China. What I want to know is will Xiaomi just do the same? Open it up, test point and flash it? If so I rather do it myself than wait months for it to return.
Thanks,
I'm going to give this a shot tomorrow. Does it matter what rom I use???
Is there a guide on how to do it properly for my practicular phone?
So I purchased a K20 Pro from eBay, never-msrp specifically. A few days after receiving the phone I was promoted to do a OTA to Android 10. The phone never booted again. I contacted the seller. They sent me a link to reset the phone; didn't work...still stuck on MI recovery 3.0. They said contact Xiaomi when the reset didn't work. Xiaomi says there's nothing they can do because they don't officially support this model in the U.S.. Square Trade during all this finally said they determined they can help me. BUT, they need the IMEI number which I can't get to without booting up the phone.
Any ideas how to recover the IMEI. The box is long gone. All I want is the phone

Sounds like you had a CN model that was probably sideloaded with a different region's ROM perhaps. I'd suggest trying XiaomiADBFastbootTools if you can get the phone in to fastboot (the recovery screen you mentioned). It might list an IMEI in that software once it's hooked up via USB.
https://github.com/Szaki/XiaomiADBFastbootTools
Xiaomi do support the K20 Pro in America; it's the "Mi9T Pro" - if you mention K20 you get a swift "sorrynotsorry can't help you" as they assume it's import given its branded Mi9T for Westerners. But if you've got a boxed CN version the domestic warranty service may turn up their noses at it anyway.
It's in fastboot so you may as well try your luck at MiFlash and try the fastboot files for whatever region the phone is for; but if it's locked it might not go ahead. Can't hurt to try. The fastboot files are 2-3GB a pop so if you don't know what region it is you might need to try all of them;
https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/raphael/
https://www.7-zip.org/ - to extract the *.tgz fastboot file
https://www.xiaomiflash.com/ - to flash the extracted folder.
Just be sure to use "clean all" and not "clean all and lock". Best of luck.
Need help unbricking CC9 ("this MIUI version can't be installed on this device.")
I bought a xiaomi CC9 from aliexpress several months ago with a vendor ROM on it. Yesterday I installed the official global fastboot ROM for the xiaomi CC9 (pyxis_global_images_V11.3.4.0.PFCMIXM_20191122.0000.00_9.0_global_de83ecb6f3.TGZ). Everything was working fine, so I decided I would re-lock the bootloader for security. I didn't think it would be a problem since I installed the official global rom. Now I realize that the CC9 isn't compatible with the global variant (oops). So, when I reboot I get the message "this MIUI version can't be installed on this device." I'm in Canada, so no official service center. What options do I have now?

I had the same issue a couple of days ago. You could try to unlock the bootloader again, some people have luck with that. As for me, the tool said I had to go into settings and setup the Mi account, which was not an option since I can't boot up. I could not unbrick it myself, so I took it to a repair shop and they did it for me. They open up the back and flash the rom onto the motherboard, or so the guy said.

I also tried unlocking the bootloader and had the same problem as you, no mi account is associated with the phone. Did you just take it to a unofficial repair shop? I could look around and see if someone nearby has the ability, but I know there is no official service center for xiaomi in canada.

I am not sure about the repair shops where you live. But, the one I went to had a very experienced guy that did the job. You need to explain to whoever works there what you did and validate their understanding before you drop off the phone because it is not a simple software fix.
Anyway, there was a reply to a thread similar to yours for a guy doing it remotely. If you find that better, here is the reply.
