Hi everyone. What happened to the burst mode on the pixel camera? All of my research says Google removed it when updating to Android 10. If so, what 3rd party camera do you recommend that allows burst mode shots and/or Gif creations?
Pixel camera now favors live photo over burst took me a minute to understand that
When you choose a live photo you can see all the frames and select one
My fave second camera app is open camera but don't think it has burst anymore also

There's an option for video or GIF for motion photos if you tap export.

Aaah ok. So I should enable motion photos and then when exporting follow your instructions? Thanks mate!
The quality is so bad that the photos are barely usable.

The quality of what is so bad? Are you talking about the long press video recordings? Yes they're pretty low quality because they're only 1024 x 768. I really don't understand that "feature" for long press video if it's not going to record the default video settings.

Sorry, the quality of motion photos (top shot?) Or when you press and hold shutter button. Quality of alternative photos as the main one is good quality.

Yeah see my updated post about the long press videos. As for Top Shot, it's very good when it's actually a photo and not the long press video.

Hey all, Im new to this forum. I have a t-Mobile HTC HD2 that has PATs JW MIUI Sense like 1.9.9 ML installed on it via Nand. I am not fond of the stock camera app that comes with the ROM. It does not have a very good zoom on it.
Is there any Camera App that I can install on it that is like stock and has a better zoom on it? I know there are some free ones on the market, but so far I havent found one with a better zoom on it.
Any help is grateful
Thanks in adavance!
well no, you can get other camera with better quality of photo and effects.
I looking for camera with zoom too
With regards to zoom, the function in a way is somewhat pointless. The camera can take 5.1 Mpx shots, and all zoom does, is digitally enlarge what you see on the screen. So in fact taking a photo then cropping it, does exactly the same as what zoom will do regardless of the zoom factor! For real zoom, it would need an optical zoom lens.
Zoom zoom!

Use Camera Zoom FX. In settings select zoom type 4. You will be able to zoom by a factor of 6.

I personally use MIUI Camera.
It seems to me that (maybe only it seems so to me) the phone is taking better pictures whit it.
The app is called LGcamera
and here are some screenshots
NOTE: Don't go above 20mbps! Because the app will stop working. If LGcamera not opening, u need to reboot ur device.

Thanks for the tip! If you could post sample videos (if possible similar videos) of both bitrates, that would be great.
Wait, I didn't notice the 60fps. So it can actually record 1080p videos at 20Mbps and 60fps?

Google is sending me another Nexus 4 because the one i'm using has some problem with the lens (grey circle aka dead spot).
When I get the other Nexus 4, I will try to do 12mbps vs 20mbps video.
It works very well. ty
You don't need to use another app to achieve the same. You can edit the media_profiles.xml file in the /system/etc folder.
Here are some pics:-
hey there, thanks, very helpful indeed. since i'm still waiting for my nex4, i was anyway hoping lgcamcorder would be capable of doing this. plus you can do some more tweaks compared to the stock camera. did anyone try to also increase audio quality in lgcam? i know this app happens to be quite unstable, both with "wrong" settings and the "wrong" device, in other words: you have to be lucky it works the way you want to?
does it work in 720p 60fps?
Cool app. Nice find.

Another thread reported it did not.

I can confirm 60fps doesn't work in ANY recording mode or resolution. I tried them all using the Lgcamera, which by the way, is much much much much MUCH better than the stock camera app for photos. I haven't done any side by side video bitrate comparisons but the photos and specifically the focus is so much better with the lgcamera. The photos are much less compressed and there is so much more detail in everything compared to the blurry crap from the stock camera.
Try it out and validate my results please! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rubberbigpepper.lgCamera&hl=en
I am using 3-years old Nexus 5 smartphone with Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) overclocked @ 2.65GHz
and Snap Camera HDR 8.0.4 app from Google Play Store to unlocked 4K resolution.
It isn't native 4K, the native 3264 resolution was upscaled to 3840 at 48Mbps, but the quality is still pretty good.
Please note that there is problems with stuttering but Nexus 5 comes with native support for 1080p video only!

You can use Snap Camera HDR 8.0.4 from Google Play Store (or here) and unlocked 4K resolution.
It won't be native 4K, but 3264 upscaled to 3840.
Looks awesome
And some pictures from Dubai. Originally RAW -> PNG -> Facebook (JPG)
You can download the first picture in PNG format (12MB): OneDrive
The following JPEGs are lower quality and size approx. 300KB.

Excellent quality.
With 4k video the Nexus 5 throttles quite a bit which results in jittery video after about a minute or two.
Camera2 API (lollipop DP2 or DP3 onwards?) paved the way for such applications allowing devs to access the camera HW at a very low level.
Awesome video, pics and music. Well done!!!
Gotta give this a try.

I'm using standard settings (Video Bit Rare at 48Mbps) and Warp Stabilizer in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Hi just got my smasung note 8 and have been asked to take photos at a small family wedding in a weeks time. Can any recommend what settings or any tips ? Any help appreciated as little time to learn myself. Thanks in advance
Hmm honestly the auto mode is really good, it does a really great job..
But if it's 1 or 2 people having their photo taken, have a go at live focus, if you can get it working good you can produce some amazing photos.

Also make sure your battery is fully charged and take a good high capacity power bank! Using flash a lot might drain the battery ... never done a photo "session" with a phone camera but good luck with it all! The Note camera is very good and using live focus will give you the opportunity to get some lovely "soft focus" shots ...

Live focus is built into the note 8's stock camera application, as long as you are on the rear camera it should say 'live focus' just above the shutter button

If you have time look into ported Google Camera. If you're planning to shoot a wedding, I'd recommend going for it, as it will increase your picture quality and improve the low light performance. Newer versions also come with a decent portrait mode built in.
i have a question is there a way to launch the camera with pro mode and standard mode
Hi everyone. I have been wondering for a while after using the Pixel 7 for 2 weeks.
Is there a way to force the Pixel 7 to operate in a manual mode that enables us to control the WB, focus, ISO, and shutter speed? If not, what would be a good third-party app that does?
I came from a OnePlus 6, so I am a little disappointed that the Pixel 7 cannot do that. Any thoughts?

Open the camera, click on the drop-down from the top left, more settings.
I had the OnePlus 7t. I miss that phone, and I dislike their new skin/dumb options.

Hi Grandpajiver.
Thank you for the suggestion. This is not what I am referring to. I am interested to seek from others if there is a full manual mode like something similar to OnePlus devices or Samsung's.
Still open to suggestions.

Even with different apps that support Camera2 I think you'll spin your wheels. With unofficial Gcam mods or Open Camera you might make some headway with ISO and white balance, maybe a focus override. For manual shutter and aperture there will be obstacles not worth pursuing. These phones just aren't made for shutterbug tweaking.
On one hand it's unfortunate that manual exposure isn't a thing with Pixels. On the other hand, better than average output with a minimum of fuss is why Pixel cameras are better than average. I admit I'd rather use Samsung or Sony camera systems but I'd rather use a Pixel for everything else.
