Hello!
I am using a SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 8 Exynos Version 64 gb SM-N950F running on 1 October security patch.
I am waiting for a fix but nothing seems to be fixed.
To explain Black crush in few words: Area with Black pixel where it should show shadow gradient.
Colour Banding:
Gradient colour are not transforming smoothly into another one.
My phone's screen is ridiculously bad to even look at after this. Because let me get straight i bought this to see beautiful AMOLED screen; not to see this bloched screen.
Anyone facing this issue please comment below as it will be helpful.
And please note that a screenshot will not identify this problem as other display's on earth are perfect. So you have to take photo with a camera of your NOTE 8.
I have attached some photos with links to explain it better. This is happening as well as with gradient wallpapers but i can't get focus even on my crappy G5 plus camera. And looks so much worse in real world.

Here is a link from a XDA thread to show how bad it looks and what is exactly happening here. The post is by GALAXY s9 user which is exact same problem for my GALAXY NOTE 8 now...Weird!

Thanks to SAMSUNG Customer Care India for replacing my display BUT the problem still persists. I can't even use this phone on regular basis. I am using my broken G5 Plus. Atleast the screen is not that messed up.
Please SAMSUNG fix this ASAP.

And yes i tried safe mode, disable video enhancer. Those things have nothing to do with this... It's the SAMSUNG who can fix this.
Please comment below if you have this issue.

ended up selling my device for 100$

[Q] [Need help] Z C6602 Camera problem

hi guys, i've recently recieved a Xperia Z C6602 as present
been using it for a couple week now
great phone, however
just a moment ago, i was tried to take some night photo shots
and found a small problem with the camera
hope if anyone could help me, coz it's kind of annoying
the HDR and all the other function seems to work fine
photo under auto ISO setting is no too bad
however with the manual ISO setting (with or with out HDR engaged...)
i have found that the displayed image on the phone screen before photo taken, from ISO 100 ~ ISO 400
is actually much darker then the actual photo taken!
but the ISO 800 ~ ISO 1600 seems to be with out this issue (and ofcoz auto ISO also do not have this problem)
for example
[ISO 100]

}
[ISO 200]
just wondering if anyone have the same problem?
is this a bug for the camera? or is this normal?
i had a bit of look online but didn't find much in regard to this issue
tried to play with the setting, changing the photo size, still didn't help
i really love taking photos
was using HTC ONE MINI before this
and changed to Z now with much higher res, it's awesome
but this problem with the display before taking photo is actually very annoying
for that, i can not see clearly, and predict the outcome of the photo this way
can anyone please help?
bump....
can anyone help please :crying:
tried to contact sony, haven't got anything back from them yet....

Discoloration under uv lamp

Hey guys, wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this image of my note 9?

It is a photo taken of my note 9 under the uv lamp provided by whitestone dome. Under normal lighting nothing is visible.
I used the light over a 3 more samsung phones and 2 had a visible outline but very faint, am I worrying over nothing?
Thanks in advance

Sorry didn't realise I couldn't post links as a new user. I have updated the original post.
Thanks
I just applied my whitestone dome glass on my note 9 and noticed the same marking under the screen during the UV process, and my screen is perfectly fine. I'm pretty sure that is normal, you can't see it under any circumstance other than having a UV light on it, so I think you're good.
Did you use the uv lamp before Whitestone? It could be the Whitestone.
Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk
are u happy with the whitestone protector?
You guys must be first time users to Whitestone. I have seen this on every Samsung phone I've installed a Whitestone to, including when I had an s8+, note 8, s9+ and now my note 9. Also installed on my father's note 8 and now s9+ and my wife's s8+ and now note 9, they all have this. It's from the factory. I think it has to do with the way the edge screen is made or works

What We're Expecting for the Honor Magic 2 Launch

The original Honor Magic first showed up in December of 2016 and was one of Honor's less-popular phones. This could be due to the limited availability, or maybe it was a misunderstood phone. The Honor Magic was a more significant phone than you might remember and that's why I'm really excited for the Honor Magic 2. The Honor Magic was actually the first AI phone to ever hit the market. These days you'll see most flagship phones taking advantage of some sort of version of AI technology, but the Magic did it before all of them. This set the groundwork for the Honor 10, Honor View 10, Honor Play, and Honor 8X, which all use the same AI technology.

Now with the Honor Magic 2 on the way, we could see another evolution of their AI system. They teased a new AI assistant called "Yoyo" at the 8X launch event. Since then we haven't received any further information on it, but I expect it will have a lot to add to the current state of digital assistants.
They've also shown us a bit of the new pop-up camera which gets rid of any need for a notched display. We have seen this design implemented into other devices since then, but we still don't know the full details of how this function will work.
The launch date for the Honor Magic 2 is set for October 31st in Beijing. This new phone will undoubtedly set the groundwork for new technologies for future Honor phones. We will learn more about the specs and price at the launch, which so far have been kept a secret.
A few details about the new phone have leaked. We know that it will feature six cameras with three on the back and three on the front. There will also be a curved 2K AMOLED display which is a rare thing to see in an Honor device. The exterior of the Honor Magic 2 will have similar curves as the Mate 20. We also have a look at the color options for the phone.
We will be covering the event live on our Facebook page. Make sure you check it out at 7AM ET.

White balance on selfie camera

The stock app on my S10e does not appear to have a white balance option for the front facing camera, and it doesn't automatically choose it correctly. GCam always creates superior results.
I can't imagine Samsung app devs would let their app be so terrible with selfies. Does anyone else have the same experience? Is there a feedback channel we can tell them?
Like I said on another thread why do you guys feel the need to have and use a front facing camera to take pics of yourself. I'm trying to understand is it a narsasiscic thing going on in this day and age or what?do people fancy themselves that much? not talking about you op or anyome here in particular so no disrespect intended. Just want to understand this need for front facing cameras. I love the s10 plus but the ugly 2 cameras on the front are stopping me from enjoying.and I'm not in love with myself to take selfies and admire my self all day.so the front camera ruins the phone for me a bit

People have always been taking pictures of others, and some have noticed that the cameraman has been missing for centuries.
Now we have a tool in our pockets to take a picture of everyone at once, in an instant. The S10 has a wider lens for even more people.
Every game night, I take a selfie with everyone using the GCam app in portrait mode. When I have a special moment with my wife, its easy to get a photo of us together. It's kind of ridiculous looking back at photos from years ago to know I was a participant, but no where to be seen, not a single photo of me interacting with others.
I took advantage of a sale at Office Depot for canvas prints, and made a collage of a year's worth of selfies:
