Rooted, running stock OS. For some reason, certain websites like NFL. Com won't load. Regardless of wifi/lte. I tried both chrome and Firefox with the same issue. Apps and evehtbjgb else works fine on the internet so I'm not sure what's going on.
I had not cleared the host after using energized. All sites work.

Since upgrading to XXJPH, Chrome to Phone has stopped working. The Chrome extension says that it sent the link, but nothing happens on my phone. I reinstalled the app several times, but that didn't help either.
Maybe related to this problem, AppBrain's Fast Web Installer doesn't work, either.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Does anyone else have this problem at all?
Works like a charm here. Chrome to phone is quite prone to connection errors, so maybe try connecting/disconnecting and also linking/unlinking your Gmail account on the phone to Chrome to Phone.
I initially also had same problem when I upgraded to JPH.
UnInstall + Cache clear + Install did the trick for chrome to phone, but still I am unable top get webInstaller running I think app is not compatible with froyo.
anyone running it sucessfully please report...
Chrome to Phone works. Linpush too works.
C2DM (Cloud to Device Messaging) feature of Froyo is working fine on JPH.
Hello people!
I'm having a lot of difficulties trying to make my Galaxy S surfing on the net correctly... No matter what I do, I get 99% of the time this error message: "Web page not available". Sometimes it works, but very rarely. I'm using my home wifi connexion, and I tried every single browser I have: stock browser, Dolphin, xScope... only Opera Mini is working and loading pages normally.
I tried to load pages on MIUI, then on Simplicity, S.U.R.F.A.C.E. then Hybrid... nothing changes, still not able to load pages. I did a clean flashing of a stock JVQ with repartition and I finished with a hard reset after that... still nothing! One thing is that I'm able to load my router's configuration page (at 192.168.1.1). But I simply cannot connect to internet pages like Google, Facebook, Youtube, XDA etc...
I tried other devices on the same router and it's working fine: an iPhone, a Nokia phone, a laptop, a desktop. I tried another router, but nothing...
I have had the same problem, until I have updated my firmware
If you can't right now use Opera mini or Firefox portable. They use their own browser base, and should work fine
On normal data (3G) you can surf on these websites?
Whats about apps?
If you cannot connect through apps do the following:
Go to the setuppage of your router.
Type in your password and login.
Look for the WLAN settings.
Go to devices and look, if your device is in that list.
If yes:
Did you maybe block port 80 for your device?
If not:
Did you typed in the correct password?
Does your router accept new devices? (WLAN extended settings)

I had a very similar problem where I could only load in sites in opera mini (i assumed it must be something to do with opera mini rerooting traffic through their servers or something) but skyfire, dolphin, stock, opera mobile all would not work. Apps all worked fine like whatsapp, viber, and so on. This happened after i accidentally used the sim toolkit on my phone and it sent "browser settings".
For me deleting and redoing my APN settings fixed it but that would only work if your problem was on 3g. Worth a try anyway.
Thanks for your quick answers

That's what I'm actually doing: I'm using Opera Mini. But it's not as good as other browsers such as Dolphin. I can do a firmware update, or downgrade even, if it is a firmware related issue. I'm actually on JVR.

We still do not have 3G in my country.
Other apps are working fine, they can connect and download data, not everytime but much more than browsers. For example, market would not immediatly download new apps, it takes sometimes 2 or 3 tries. Anyway, I think they're working fine.
I checked my router's configuration to see if port 80 was blocked for my Galaxy S, but it's not. Actually I set it on DMZ mode to see if it will work, but no result.
And I couldn't find something to allow new devices on my router. But I guess it's not a problem since anything I tried to connect to it before worked fine.

Anyway, thank you for your help
I tried to connect on another router, from another place, and it worked. I installed a DD-WRT firmware on the router on which I wasn't able to connect but nothing changed... could it be the router hardware itself? The strange thing is that everything else is working on it (iPhone, laptop, desktop, other phones...).
Out of the blue, 4 days ago, my phone stopped allowing Facebook, Instagram, and some websites including Google and Yahoo to open (at least using Dolphin Browser).
I have Comcast and nothing changed on that end, my 2 computes work fine, roommate's phone, tablet, computer, and PS4 work fine still.... But just my phone won't load pages in those apps or websites. I figured something got screwy with my ROM (BadBoyz Kit Kat) so I just fresh flashed their latest Sense 6 ROM and finally got all my apps reinstalled, and it's still doing the same thing. When I shut wifi off and connect through Sprint's slow ass 3g, the apps and browser load fine.
Any ideas??
This started out of the blue yesterday. So far, these are the sites: ABC News (mobile or desktop), NBC.com (mobile or desktop), CBS (mobile or desktop). Other sites, like Walmart.com, load. The sites that won't load are not offline, as I'm able to load them on my laptop and Galaxy S4. There is never an error message, just a blank page that never finishes loading.
This happens in Dolphin, Mercury and Opera browsers, indicating to me that this must be some problem with the OS itself, rather than an individual browser.
I've already rebooted and done a factory data reset, which helped for a few hours, but now the problem is back and as you can likely imagine, I've no wish to FDR every day. I also disabled web surfing protection in my Avira for Android, thinking that might have been the culprit. Obviously not.
I've read that browsers throwing up blank pages on active sites has been a known problem in Android. One suggested solution was to edit my APN and rename it from VZWINTERNET to just plain INTERNET, but all this did was remove my arrows and gray out my 4G icon, so I changed it back.
I'm rather flummoxed by this because everything else functions smoothly on my tab. I'm able to go to most other websites, just none of the ones I mentioned. I receive email, IMs, push notifications. All apps are able to use the Net, except for Pandora, which will freeze up.
I've noticed that this happens mostly when it's in Hotspot mode. Does sharing the bandwidth cost so much that the device is rendered unable to load sites while hotspotting for another device's access? Exiting hotspot mode does not assuage the problem.
I'm about a step shy of reflashing the whole thing with Odin. Do I need a PIT file to reflash the stock ROM?
Thank you.
At times, my phone appears to be only be able to access https sites when I am using T-mobile 4G. It works fine on wifi. I've tried several browsers. Some apps can connect and some cannot. If I specifically type in https on what normally directs to an http site it works, but a lot of sites redirect back to the http and it wont work. It does work when I use Orbot proxy app along with their browser. The problem isn't always existent, sometimes my internet is working perfectly fine and sometimes it isn't and sometimes it'll switch back and forth in short intervals.
I'm running Android 4.4.4 and haven't had any system updates recently. I don't think it is from any apps i updated or installed recently. My phone is not rooted.
Any ideas before I factory reset my phone?
