I'm seriously looking at buying a secondhand Nexus 6 as I'm beginning to find it an increasing inconvenience having to take the ZU out of my pocket before I sit in a car for example. I think I would now prefer a phone that fits in my pocket more comfortably and seeing the bezels on the ZU compared to the Nexus 6 just convinces me even more. When I upgraded to lollipop 5.1 my Z felt like a new phone and I thought about keeping it a bit longer and was loving the new OS look and feel. But now weeks have gone by and my ZU has mysteriously become so laggy its really beginning to irritate me (my free RAM is around 5-600MB typically, as it is for System and apps!)...I don't even have any games or resource hungry apps!
I'm aware the battery life is not sterling on the Nexus 6 but that processor, turbo charging, extra ram and those stereo speakers sound good to me. I simply cannot afford to buy any new releases such as a G4 and would like to stay with the 6" displays. Compared to the Z the home screen on the N6, the untainted Android experience looks a bit dated but I'm sure a launcher would sort that out. Any advice would be appreciated on whether this is a good buy and the issues user may be having with the phone.
Personally I loved the Xperia Z ultra the only one thing I disliked about it was the speakers on it were just terrible.

The speakers and the camera are poor. I've always used a bluetooth speaker though but from what I hear the N6 which I'm hoping to get as amazing speakers!
Are people still enjoying the Z3+ (E6553)? I read it has Nougat and I want that. My last good phone was a Note 3, but Samsungs have a variety of issues like GPS and dead screens (not to mention exploding batteries) so I am looking at Sony. What do people think?
First of all, the phone is still on Marshmallow, and battery is awful and heat as well, there isn't much development so NO
Hell NO, stay away from this piece of sh*t.
If I returned back to purchasing point, I would grab a nexus 5x over this one. Right now there are numerous great offers and I don't recommend this one.
if a friend dosent play games its really good.
but if a friend would play pokemon go (just for example) an old samsung s3 would be better.
Worst phone, ever.
wow, thanks. Are any Sony phones good?
Also the sony website says the phone is getting Nougat. Is it not out yet?

X performance
XZ
I don't own any of those, but they all seem good.
I bought the z3 plus for my girlfriend over the summer. Haven't had any issues with it. She plays the occasional game or two. But mostly uses it for Facebook, spotify and texting. Battery life is pretty good. Easily lasts a full day. Finally, haven't noticed any heating issues either. Sony definitely fixed the heating issues that were present when the device first came out. I would recommend the z3 plus if you can get it for a good price.
Got z3+ half a year ago. Using fot twitter, instagram, phone and playing ingress. Got 4-5 hours of ingress, no overheating. I would recommend.
overheating is not happening for me because i just check telegram and instagram but battery is really bad! z5 has the same battery but it is really better than z3+,plz go find something else,if you can buy it i suggest z5,its really good and after you buy sony phone i say you will never buy another companys phone bro
i LOVE the z4/z3+ and heat, for me, is now gone... perfect ( for me ) form factor, awesome screen... I feel like Z4 is THE pinnacle of Xperia's design language, the last flagship to bear the iconic power button.
...the battery life not as great when compared to other newer Xperia offerings which are now already coming down in price. Camera is ok in daylight.
Huge fan... have recently made x compact my daily, mostly for camera and battery,
and have XZ as well, but still prefer the in-hand feel of Z4 and will never get rid of it.
no Nougat.

Sony Phones are just fancy phones. They all are appealing look. But their build sucks. I prefer Samsung over Sony and now a days OPPO phones are better than both Sony and Samsung.
You're in the minority, but I appreciate the opinion

I might go LG instead
Hey guys im looking to buy a new phone and the x performance has the specs im looking for with an excelent price of 450 dollars . But the question is did sony fix their problems with camera overheating and gyro not working? Also does the phone heat up like the z3+ under normal use , is the speaker quality good ?The other phone for a little lower that i can get is the honor 8 which unlike the bad reviews for the x performance gets very positive feedback and recommendations .
No issue at all on mine
Sent from my F8131 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
No bugs in mine too. Gyro is working perfect, no overheating, camera great.... Very nice display... A very good phone for the price
Im asking because i've watched almost all of the reviews and they say Sony dissapoints in 2016 not good enough for the price tag , camera overheats after 5 mins etc . But after watching reviews for the normal Xperia X they recommend and it and say its a great phone so why so negative about the same phone with more power . Thanks for the feedback i knew it was a good performer but these were the things that concered me
Yes, I saw this reviews too. This phone was expensive because was released at 650~700 euros, very expensive in my opinion. But for 430 (I bought it a couple months ago) or 400 it's a quite good price for the spects.

My previous phone was a z3c. I feel more powerful and fast the XP with nougat, that is I was looking for. And the XP display is much better than z3c. So I'm happy with the XP.
Only one difference, the XP have a good battery but the z3c was better. But the insane battery of the z3 series it's history.

ye, z3 compact on kitkat had amazing battery life. probably no chance that a compact flagship will be anounced at mwc 2017 later this month?
There are various leaks, but nothing for sure. Who knows...
sorry , i dont know if i can post it here.so i am from india . right now moto x4 is for 12k inr or 175usd. i have been using moto g5 plus and bought galaxy note 8 in 2017 and used it just for 3 months. however it was note 8 was stolen and was recovered by police after 6 months, i used it for 3 months again, alas. it was stolen again(literally got robbed this time). so back to moto g5 plus 3rd time , replaced its screen with a duplicate one as it was broken before using it. However after 5 months (few days back), the display failed entirely. so the genuine display costs 6k inr or 86 usd. i am just a student so i dont earn any money. ever since my phone got stolen i felt very bad because dad saved money for it. i wanted to use moto g5 plus for atleast another 1 and half year. the moto x4 looks like a good choice for me right now, even though it is old. i want an headphone jack, usb c, no notch, no punch hole, doesnt really care about bezels, clean os. i dont play any games. i browse a lot, use youtube, watch a lot of videos and listen music. and a not so bad camera. Dad suggested to buy one plus 7(not pro) on monthly installments or emi. i said no ,because no headphone jack( i watch lot of classe lectures on phone with both earphones and charger plugged in, and note 8 history. are there any better choices in the budget range. notch is ok(i will hide it) and one more thing. is there any way to recover data from my phone. i cant pass through my pincode. sadly the fps doesnt work because it was restarted and needs pin. i tried a keyboard via otg to unlock and connect it to pc , but no avail. please help and is there any way to convert moto x4 to android version to get seamless updates
Sound output of moto x4 is pretty low. If you watch videos only with headphones then you can consider buying it. (Price is 11k on Flipkart, not 12k).
I bought a moto x4 32gb 2 weeks ago in bestbuy USD 160 (tax included)
Im really happy about my decision. Really liking this phone.

Same here. I came from the Moto x pure and the only thing I have really missed is the sound volume.
Well, I bought a 6GB 64GB for 11k from Flipkart 2 months and I am totally loving this phone. You can play games in it just not at the highest settings. Everything is super fine except the speakers which are okay but not super loud and the battery gets the job done but under my hyper heavy usage I wish it would have been a bit bigger, also the 64GB storage feels a cutthroat to me . Else the phone is super great and value for money.
Well, im part of the few that had the black screen qualcom 9008 issue, but it appears to me that i know how to get it back to life with 2 rubber bands LOL , beside that, pretty solid phone, nice slick design, fast, and i love the 2 to 4 bluetooth speakers at the same time feature. I just hate the fact that i can brake so easy as im used to the plastic line motorolas that are more durable, so i guess ill have to be more carefull. i just bought the glass protector and the cover. Anyway , nice phone to manage with one hand.

I can agree with the speaker being okay at best. The battery is actually really good all things considered (AMOLED would have been great) and you would be hard pressed to find something that is significantly better if you are a heavy phone gamer (assuming this based off your post). As far as the 64GB storage, it was pretty good at the time of release for the phone considering it was at best an upper mid-range phone at release. It has an SD slot for expandable storage so that is a plus.
Dear All,
I am Planning to Buy Sony XZ1 Compact, please share your feedback it is worth to buy in 2020?
No more Android updates (including security updates) is the major drawback.
It's still a very good phone (the best suited for my needs) with decent CPU, IO speed and connectivity. If you buy a new one then good battery life is also a strong point of this model.
Are they available to buy somewhere (as brand new)?

Thanks for the answer, yes available in my city (Gulf Countries)
I am a little bit confused for Battery because nowadays every cell has 4000+ mAh battery, xz1c will give same as a big battery or not
You buy XZ1c because it's one of the last compact smartphones with decent parameters, not for the biggest battery on the market!
I don't know a lot of 4000+ mAh phones and for sure not a single small phone with such big battery. XZ1c will give you 2 days with all features on and about 6-8 hours of screen on. 3 days if you use it more lightly and full single day if you use it extremely (except you encounter some appplication or problem with unnatural battery drain). It's best battery life/size ratio I've ever experienced with smartphones.

I'll take the thicker bezels, the XZ1C is a better design and a more beautiful device than the XZ2C.
I was ready to respond affirmatively; it's an excellent phone. But, you say: "..for my mother, she is using only for calling and sometimes WhatsApp." I'd say no only because the XZ1 compact -at least in the US - has retained its value remarkably well. I think mine is excellent and would miss it dearly. I believe it was when new, and still is, peerless, given its size and features, and I've been waiting for prices to drop to get a backup. That day has not come; I'd have to pay about what I paid for a new one in 2017. For simply calls and occasional wassup, I'd look for a more economical option.
The last Android software and security update for this phone is Android 9, Sept 2019. New updates are not to be expected.
If this is no issue for you, then the XZ1 compact is a nice, powerful and nicely compact smartphone.
Pulled the trigger on one today
My Z5 compact is getting kinda old, doesn't seem to connect as reliably as I think it should and the xz1C is almost the only small form factor phone I can find with good stats and 3.5mm jack. I grabbed one new at cell2get for just under $400. That price is nuts to me for a 3 year old phone but I can't find anything I like as much. This'll be my 4th xperia compact phone so I guess I'm a fan boy at this point.
Now I have to figure out what all to do to it once it comes in.
I don't fool with phones too much except when I have a new oneevery few years... spend a month or so learning about it and how to get it set up the way I want (so I can run Titanium Backup and ADW launcher and my pointless but cute Buffguff icons) which usually means rooting it. Not really looking forward to fooling with all that with the xz1. I've not started but I hope it's not too much of a pain. :fingers-crossed:
Anyway, yeah if you can get it new, grab one. Bestest phones around!
Oh...Thanks for all who helped me, actually I decided to buy because I get near 100 USD
