Find a good solution, by using "Mute Mode(all camera shutter sound". Works fine now.

Should be an option in the menu to mute shutter....edit pending..

Galaxy note shutter speed vs iPhone 4

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone can offer advice in relation to the shutter speed and auto focus on the galaxy note.
I have come from an iPhone 4 and one of the main issues I'm noticing is that the ability to autofocus and snap a quick photo on the galaxy note is non existent? unless I'm on a non moving target ?
To autofocus seems to take several milliseconds to respond vs iPhone which was almost instantaneous, enabling you to take better shots etc.
Are there some settings that can be changed on the note camera?
Many thanks

Im coming from a iphone4 too but ummm didn't really notice to lag in the focus times. Maybe its a firmware issue ?
Definitely a difference, auto focusing and snapping photos on the note vs iPhone 4 is considerably slower
Will hope that ics resolves

I came from an iPhone 4. First of all, the Note is much better.
Now the camera on the iPhone had a quick 'original' auto focus, ie the first thing it focused on was quick but the rest took a while and the autofocus event would take a while.
I find on the Note that I have to wait a bit longer for it to realise it needs to change focus, but it does it very quickly. I personally focus manually as its quick and easy on the note.
Side note, I've also found that the Note has a smaller focus range, ie it can do better macro shots.
Cheers

I'm an ex-iphone 4 user, and the camera on the iPhone 4 is theoretically faster. But what I notice with the note is that I can take a picture and maybe the shutter doesn't close as fast, but the intended picture is the one that is taken. I believe the shutter takes the data from the lense, then shows you the shutter. I have taken pictures of my bird who loves to move around a lot, and when I take the picture he is in one position, and then while the camera is showing the animation for the shutter, he moves into another position but the picture is of the one I intended it (especially after manual focusing which I always do. I never let the software do it. Neither the Note nor the oh so glorified iPhone did a fantastic job of it).

This is my experience too.
for me. only noticed that by the time I press the button. The capturing takes close to a sec. Before this, best don't move about. Once the shutter is animating, any movement won't affect the picture grade.
Only made one think that taking picture is kind of slow.
Thanks guys, will try manual focusing.on a side note, does anyone know why the music player stops when you enter the camera application? This annoys me as I often take photos when out walking, and listening, to music at the same time
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA App
Oh one more question, how do you manually focus? Is that when you hold down you're finger on the screen rather than just pressing the camera button to take the shot?
Thank you

Indeed, I think it's good enough and if you don't take pictures during a video the quality is even better.

9 MP is for burst mode, capturing pictures at a stretch in 10 FPS. Not for the photo shoot in video i guess!

burst has 3 settings, high speed (1280x720) mid (3920x2204) and low (1920x1080)
HDR must be automatically disabled as turning it on/off manually makes no difference to burst speeds.
Stills settings on NORMAL
HDR on =12mp top resolution (4:3 3920x2940) or 9mp (16:9 3920x2204)
HDR off =13mp top resolution (4:3 4128x3096) or 9mp (16:9 3920x2204)
Stills settings on SUPERIOR AUTO
HDR NOT SELECTABLE =12mp top resolution (4:3 3920x2940) or 9mp (16:9 3920x2204)

so what does burst mode exactly mean?
I really like taken pictures with my smartphone but unfortunately Android Phones are VERY slow taking a picture. I saw how a friend of mine was taking pictures with his Iphone5 camera and I was only thinking "I want that fast camera for my next Android Phone!! ^^
So how fast is that burst mode?

Burst mode is different again. Hold the button and it'll keep taking photos. What you want is a low shutter lag.. which is the delay between pressing the button and getting a photo. This depends very much on the camera hardware and the app driving it - it's very possible for one android phone to be slow and another very fast.
Rest assured this should be good... who do you think makes the iphone camera modules that you like so much

ah ok burst mode seems to be nice feature! Yeah I didn't really know if shutter lag is the right word^^ I didn't know that Sony is making the Camera hardware for apple, but that doesn't mean that it will be as fast as the Iphone taking pictures, because of their software...

Being slow isn't a bug it's a feature A feature called auto focus. When you click the camera button it first try to focus on the object it's facing before actually taking a pic. Try disabling it and you could use your camera to shoot like using a machine gun
And yeah burst mode is something similar to what I explained in a single click.

[Q] Touch to focus while video recording?

Does the Note support this feature? I remember I had it on my HTC desire z and I didnt imagine that Note wouldnt support it. If the hardware is ok, then what camera app should I use? I have tried a few but none worked. It is very annoying not to be able to focus during video shooting. Will I always be stuck with blurry, OOF videos? Touch-to-focus works ok when taking pictures.

After reading your message I checked my camera out using front facing camera
and it's fine for non selfies, it focuses and looks good, not as good as the back
facing camera of course. It "auto-focuses" unlike the back facing camera.
With the front facing camera there is no zoom and there are
a lot less modes to choose from but the auto focus iworks great.
Good luck,
Have a great day!
This is odd. I only can choose selfie and wide selfie mode. I reset the settings and that doesn't help. I can download new modes but they won't show up.

Google Camera Port.

Following Ports are for both Android Q & R (Custom ROMs and RUI 1.0 & 2.0). However due to some issues Auxiliary Lenses not supported in Android 11 (RUI 2.0).
B-S-G v8.1
Downloads.- APK & Config
Wichaya v3.1.1
Downloads.- APK & Config
Oppo Camera APK (RUI1.0)
Importing .xml
first goto gcam settings and save the current xml (every version has this option under different menus) which will create a folder in internal storage (either gcam or configs7). Place the downloaded xml in that folder. Open gcam. Double tap the black area around the shutter button and select the downloaded xml and then restore.

Low light on gcam is better in both front and back. Gcam definitely has more details in low light shots. I guess we need a better port. Things will get better.

Hi
I'm using 4.1 and no preconfigured config.
Digging in the options you can chose all four rear cameras, just some icons are swapped.
Other nice things seem to work, like photosphere and night shots.
Don't just enable "motion" 'cause it crashes.

After more testing, I felt like updating my post. It's quite understandable that people look for Gcam app for their Realme 6 pro phones. There are two main reasons: 1) phone's own camera creates somewhat blurred slowmotion videos; 2) sound in recorded videos is of very poor, even terrible quality.
I tried many Gcam apps (ported for Realme 6 pro), but none would support 64 megapixel shots! Moreover, slow-motion in these apps is nothing but a fake: Gcam apps either don't allow to shoot slow motion, or produce low fps videos which look horrible. Native app has it's pros and cons, so main question is what exactly you want to do: photos?, videos? videos must be with sound? etc. If you desire to improve colors in your images, and you don't need 64mp shots (which is main feature of this camera), then go for https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/filesc/GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v2.1_Wichaya_V2.8.1_200920.apk posted above by one of us. All lenses work, screen flash for selfie etc. Configs: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/p/f/2020/09/Realme6Pro-by-tomtimkur.xml
In addition, you can improve sound in your recorded videos by using Open Camera app instead of factory Camera app.
Wichaya Cam is good but the only problem color is washed out in photos. They look faded, not crispy or vibrant. Sometimes lens freezes while shooting in night mode. Nikita Cam is excellent in night mode, ya superior to any other cam listed and you get more brighter photos in night mode. Overall color saturation in other mode is good too.
