Rooted G1, 8g microSD. Had been running CM for months with no real issues. Was running w/ fat32/ext2/swap partitions and all apps were installing to card(ext) w/o exception. Recently decided to try another rom, so wiped, repartitioned, etc etc. Didn't like rom. Back to CM. I have been trying on and off now for 3 weeks to get apps to install to sd w/ no luck. Tried repartitioning on pc via gparted, partitioning via recovery (AmonRa). Tried defanged/cm/radio, even dropped back to rc29 and then back up from there. Same issue. Once I get CM installed, all installed apps seem to be reducing internal memory unlike my original CM install. Only thing I haven't tried is using a different card, although I don't understand why a fully repartitioned/reformatted card would not work fine.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?
BTW, I hate to post a message with a topic that is present in so many others, but trust me, I've read a load of posts and still can't figure out what's happening.
Tnx,
MisterP0P0
Y did u repartition after switching roms, all u need is a wipe before the flash
How much system space are you talking about?
If you're showing 70+Mb's w/ the stock or Hard SPL or 80+MB's w/ the Danger SPL your apps are being stored on your SD card <- This applies to Cyanogen builds, probably other donut based builds also
Some of the sytem apps will remain on your internal storage, and with each app install your internal storage will decrease slightly but should not decrease by the full size of the app
All may be well.... seem to be hovering around 61 megs free. I've installed 10 apps or so...
Yep... it's working. Now to decide whether to use swap a/o compcache. Any suggestions?
I flashed CW 11 OK but I could not flash the P Gaps the install fails each time I try, so no Google play store app etc. My phone has only 4GB internal SD. Also I cannot mount an external SD it is not seen after installation and in settings the mount section is greyed out.
Can somebody please point me in the right direct to resolve these issues
Update: I have now successfully installed the GAPPS- KK small version and the phone is working correctly now.
This Firmware has renewed an unreliable phone and I do not at the moment need a replacement many thanks to the Devs.
However the external SD Card will still not mount in the new Firmware. It seems this is a known issue any progress on resolving this yet? .
Re input your SD card and see.
tl;dr - After installing CM 12.1 Stable on my XT1072 (UK Retail), everything worked fine. Suddenly, the SD card just disappeared and refused to mount or erase, but the card shows up on my PC and TWRP. Was thinking that reverting to stock firmware could fix it but couldn't find the ROM. If you have the stock ROM, please send! Other than that, any other solutions?
Hi everyone,
This is my first post here, and after searching around, I can't find any solutions for my problem. So, here it is:
Through TWRP 3.0.0.0, I installed the most recent stable version of CM 12.1 (Lollipop 5.1.1) after bad experiences of CM 13 nightlies. Everything was working fine and I started reinstalling my core apps. Once I installed my main daily apps (and no games), I started copying my music collection from my PC to my 16GB Kingston SD-HC card. Everything was going well, then suddenly, when I unlocked my phone, the SD card was just gone. I checked Solid File Explorer Pro (what I use) and it only showed 'root' and 'internal storage'. My music app said my collection was empty. When checking the Storage section of settings, it only showed my internal storage. Under that, there was an option to mount my SD card or erase it. When I tap mount, it flashes with my SD card's information for a second but then disappears. When trying to erase the SD card, it says that the card is being checked although nothing actually happens.
I searched up multiple forums which didn't help, so I figured maybe it's just the ROM. I tried to find the stock firmware (5.0.2) for my phone but couldn't find it. If anyone has it, maybe reverting to stock will help? Anyway, as I couldn't find the stock firmware, I decided to carry on with CM 12.1 for the moment.
I rebooted multiple times and nothing worked. Then, I booted up without the SD card inserted. Then, when inserted, it said it was checking the card for errors. It did this for around ten seconds, but still, it showed up as mounted for a split second before going again. I went to TWRP and the SD card was mounted and working, but when booted up, my phone refused to mount the SD card.
This led me onto searching how to manually mount the SD card but all of that made no sense to me (this is my second time flashing a ROM) and I kind of gave up there. And here I am! What do I do? Please someone help! Thanks even for reading, though.
Have a great day! (Hopefully with a fully-functional phone )
I have ret.eu and no issues using cm 13
I have tried all the kinds of roms available till now for lenovo a7000 but i have noticed that only cm based roms (mostly aicp and rr) works fine. Especially roms that are based on android marshmallow and above (even the latest lineage os has the same problem). Now, talking about the problem, its that the sd card or even internal is not shown and when i try to open camera, file explorer, gallery, etc basically any app that uses the SD card all those dont work eg:- in camera it shows a message that "no sd card detected, cant save pictures". And Im now frustrated as no one of the devs or even people who have the authority to comment talk about this, so im guessing that its just my phone's issue:crying::crying:
Go to recovery.
Then select wipe. Select wipe data. You'll lose your data , but it will fix your issue

Thanks man I'll revert back to you once i try your suggestion but for now Im keeping my RR mm rom for around 2 weeks, until i get my new phone then i'll experiment with this phone
Which ROM would you recommend for Honor 4X - Che2-L11 ( cherryplus, Kirin 620)? I need to fix my girlfriend's phone
She needs stable ROM with working radio (so Nougat from here won't work), headphones, good battery life and enough internal storage (or possibility to move apps to SD or use adoptable storage with microSD) for apps.
Android 4.4.2 was relatively fine, but it is old. Then we upgraded to stock 6.0 (B570), however she had problems with lack of internal storage - it was not possible to move apps to SD card (4.4.2 was better in that) and adoptable storage didn't work properly (apps are crashing, reporting not enough space, new apps can't be installed etc). Then we tried RROS on Nougat from ksrt12, where adoptable storage seems to work fine, but radio and headphones don't work and there is quite high battery drain (15% per night with data disabled).
Which ROM would you recommend?

If you are OK with Android 6, you can try Modaco. This was the rom I used before I switched to RROS recently.
You should get a Class 10 SD card (32 Gb if possible). Install Apps2SD from play store and partition the card. First partition FAT32, second partition Ext4, then you move apps to SD card's second partition. (If you wish, you can create three partitions, and use one of them as 'adoptable storage'. I did that.) Modaco rom has a lot of free space on the system partition, so you can move many apps there, which also saves space. But apps that have been moved to system partition will be moved back to internal storage when they are updated.
I had so much free space that I never came close to filling up the storage. But I think regular XDA users would get kinda bored using this rom, as it is basically EMUI with a little bit stock feel.
The only things not working were the default clock and the compass. Clock you can just install another clock app from play store. Compass. .. I never found how to fix. Detecting headphones works and all the other hardware things, as this is basically a modified EMUI 4. I should also add that I don't know if you can flash this from RROS, as that would be "downgrading" from Android 7 to Android 6.

Thank you for the advice. I see Modaco has 2 ROMs - EMUI style and Stock style beta. Which one did you use?
With use of Apps2SD, does it move all apps to Ext4 partition on the card, or just selected ones? Or is it basically just remapping internal storage to Ext4 partition on the card?
If I have just 16 GB card for this phone, how do you suggest to repartition it?
If there is so much free space on the system partition, isn't it possible to decrease size of system partition somehow and enlarge internal storage instead?

It must have been the Stock style beta. I didn't know there was another version.

Apps2SD moves the files of apps to the SD card and creates symbolic links, so the system "thinks" the apps are still on the internal storage. In Apps2SD this process is called to link apps. Just so you know the terminology. It is very configurable, so you can choose which apps to move/link to the SD card.
What you describe, to repartition /system, sounds like a good idea, but I don't know enough about Android to say if it is possible. You would probably need some recovery program that can repartition the internal storage. Can TWRP do that? I don't know. This is above my league, sorry.
UPDATE: I found this guide for how to repartition the internal storage. But I haven't tried it.
I installed that MoDaCo EMUI style ROM, partitioned my SD card and made Apps2SD working. So far it looks fine.
However, does it still make sense to use MoDaCo EMUI ROM, which is based on B506 firmware, when there is B580 stock available? Yes MoDaCo has more internal memory free (3.28 GB vs 2.50 GB), but it has security patches only from March 2016, while B580 has July 2017 and who knows how good tweaks Huawei added since B506...

I have two Che2-L11 phones, and one of them was running B580 until a few weeks ago. The few small improvements Huawei added are not even worth the upgrade. However, if security concerns you, I would give RROS another try. About your headphones problem, I don't see why it should not work. It works on my phone. (Note three-conductor is detected and switched on, but not four-conductor.)

I also don't know why headphones without microphone didn't work with RROS for us, but it can be also related to parts of firmware that are not flashed together with RROS and they remain from previous full firmware (like modem firmware, hifi.img, dsp.img etc). Also before we flashed RROS, we had Marshmallow B570 showing Balong firmware (in the past, we upgraded from 4.4.2 to B570, but it seems she had Malaysian region set in the phone for some reason - I fixed it now) in the phone.
Unfortunatelly my girlfriend (she has this phone) wants to have headphones and radio fully working (RROS doesn't have radio as far as I know), so it seems as no go for RROS...
Can you help me to find a valid link to download modoco r7 EMUI style plz.
