Really great rom, everything works. Only missing feature is the face unlock. It's crazy smooth rom.
Hi, i plan to flash this one, is it better to use xiaomi flashtool or flashing them by hand?

I don't think it matters cuz you're gonna flash the latest firmware.
Okay so after everything done, after reboot i 've been asked to unlock the device with the mi account, that succeed; except i have a message saying "An internal problem with your device has occurred. Please contact the manufacturer for more information."
On the latest Mega link i didn't find Magisk Manager.
And the external storage is working Yay!

That message only appears one time after every boot, it doesn't matter, just ignore it. I'm using the latest magisk canary, working like a charm.
Understood, but i have another issue with Chrome that trying to update 299ko
i already checked authorizations under app settings
and made a video here

weird things is that i could install two apps without problems; any thought?
otherwise, this rom runs incredibly faster than the original one o_0'
Thanks for that!:good:

Many thanks for a great ROM and awesome work!!!
Please help about flash procedure:
3. flash GSI as System Image
Where is it please? And hot to flash it as system image?
Thanks!
Tom, thanks for everything you have done.
Only one question: when you fix fingerprint, will we have to flash whole system again or maybe only a part of it? Reading mode going to be fixed? (block blue light, useful to study)
thanks.
Edit:
@nirh216
Dude, in the bottom side, right side, there's a option to image file. click it, then choose the huge file (about 2gb) you donwloaded and flash it.
Edit2: Physical home button it's kinda useless to unlock right now, right? I cant see to use it even to unlock it, only as "home button". And i did not installed fix for auto brightness because mine is working, and i could not find how to install it by magisk, if anyone has atuto for it. thanks.
Edit3: 2 bugs I found. 1st Nav bar stop working after a while, needing to restart device to work. 2nd brightness from screen is definetly low, like half the bright from normal stock rom ----> I guess brightness is a problem from pocophone and about nav bar seems like tasker was fckng it up
Thanks.
Edit4: last edit lol. My twrp seems to be gone after doing every step and i cant find to install it again. you guys have twrp working?

I don't think u can. But it doesn't change much anyway. I dont think it has Portuguese
Works well but..
That's the only rom i found that is smooth, and have dark mode
also the only one with Miui11 that support sdcard slot
So thanks a lot!! :good::good:
The only problem is that everything on the screen is too big, even if i reduce it with display settings or other settings.
Is there anything we can do ? Like flashing a zip with magisk that'll change that?

How did you disable dm-verity? Patch the boot image with the no-verity zip from nethunter?
With the removal of TNL does the Google Location Provider now provide the location information?

Yes, I have an idea. You didn't read and/or under-stand what you have to flash and what not. You don't have to flash the kernel (it's just in case you played with other kernels, so you don't need to flash the whole system). The thing you have to flash before is the universal Bootstack from the LOS thread. For removing the pin do the following in TWRP:
head to Advanced > File Manager, and go to the /data/system folder. Scroll down and find the two files with the .key extension. Delete both of them (by tapping on the file and then tapping the “Delete” button). Then, delete all the files containing the word locksettings.

I flashed the kernel now the gps its ok(so no problems for me) .dont use the latest twrp 3.1 it has some bugs.
best regards.
I understand you kept this close to stock, but I have 3 questions.
Does it support Live Wallpaper? (stock B02 doesn't)
Can you turn off the lock screen 'None'?
Does it run Daydream smoothly?
You need to put it in the viewer to really tell. I tried on other ROMS, but it was super choppy and jittery to the point of nausea.
Very good battery life, but no MTP connection possible. It's the same fault as with all LOS based roms (based on 7.1.2).

No problem here. Check bootstack/modem
You should be having proper knowledge of flashing Custom ROM and how to Restore phone if anything goes wrong.
Take complete backup before taking any action based on this thread. I am not responsible for any action taken by you.
I am just compiling all the information/ files available on different English/ Chines websites into this thread, hence all Credit goes to respective developer/s. I am not a Developer and can't help you in making any further changes/ update to this ROM. I request XDA moderator and/ or Developer of Respective files to let me know if I have to mentioned (give credit) their name in this thread. The Download Links are given directly from respective Developer/s.
You need the following files to Teste MIUI Oreo on Mi Max 2 (Oxygen). These ROMs are ported from different Xiaomi Redmi/ Mi devices and Stable enough for daily use on Mi Max 2. I have MM2 4/64 Global version. You need ROM files from either S. No. 3 OR 4 as per your choice.
1. Treble Mi Max 2 Recovery 3.2.1 (https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=5862345805528056270)
2. LineageOS 15.1 Treble ROM for MM2 (https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410932744536984455)
3. MIUI Oreo ROM ported from Mi Max 3 China version and 5 Patch files (2 patches are Zipped in ROM zip) (https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=!ADOiQOH2AEPHPvw&id=675E0DE17AFE7624!1416&cid=675E0DE17AFE7624) (No Gapps included and refer below section for installing Google Play Store)
4. MIUIpro Oreo Rom ported from Redmi Note 4x 8.11.15. This includes Gapps and no need to install Google Play store separately. (https://mega.nz/#!8LxgSK5B!MiUdWqnJltPi_zXdHPAYd_abZhL8LMPdej5FfIfzspQ)
Now don't waste time and start flashing MIUI Oreo rom into MM2.
First step
Start your phone into recovery and Flash the Treble recovery, if already not flashed. Restart into Recovery.
Click Wipe then Advance wipe and clear System, Vendor, Data, Cache, and Dalvick cache.
Above May have Mounted the System and Vendor after clearing.
Unmount the System and Vendor
Flash LOS-15.1 Rom as a normal zip ROM flashing process and DON'T reboot into system (this will make your phone treble enabled and update vendor automatically). No need to flash anything else.
Second step
Clear/ wipe System only
Mount the Vendor again
Enter the File management in Recovery and Delete following files:
/vendor/etc/permissions/qti_permissions.xml
/vendor/etc/permissions/qcrilhook.xml
/vendor/etc/permissions/telephonyservice.xml
/vendor/framework/qcrilhook.jar
/vendor/framework/QtiTelephonyServicelibrary.jar
/vendor/app/ has *.apk, delete /vendor/app/*.apk remaining (all apk in all sub-folder under /vendor/app/ folder)
Now Extract the Downloaded Rom files in Recovery backup folder. You should know where and how to Extract. (Use unzip in pc and copy paste to recovery backup folder.)
Click Restore and Select only System and Swipe to confirm. Wait for restore to complete. If any error, Mount the Vendor and try again Restore System process. After Restore completes DON'T Reboot.
Third step
Mount the Vendor and System again.
Flash Patch1 and Patch2
Mount the Vendor and System again.
Flash BrightnessFix, WifiFix and SoundFix
Clear only DATA and boot into System. Wait for upto 10 Minutes or more to boot into System.
Warning: When you Flash the patch files, please mount the System and Vendor first to avoid error 7.
What work:
Camera, Fingerprint, Face unlock, Wifi, Sound, VoLte (No ECHO issue), Auto Brightness, OnScreen HW buttons
What doesn't work:
Some people can't log in to Xiaomi account. Don't try to Flash Dolby sound.
The dual 4G is not working. There may be potential signal problems for some user but I didn't faced in Delhi with Airtel operator. Eye protection mode/ reading mode.
Since base MIUI Oreo rom is Chinese version no Gapps included. To get Play store DO'NOT flash Gapps. You need Google app to have Play store working. Search on Google for more info or try as per link (https://www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to/mobile-phone/install-google-play-xiaomi-3676150/).
Guys, this is a nearly perfect MIUI Oreo package for our lovely Xiaomi Mi Max 2 (Oxygen), miui pie's camera can't be used in this ROM. Since Xiaomi does not released the updated Kernel source for our Device, user may not be able to change the In Call Volume.
If I missed anything in the above, kindly let me know to include. If you found any further update/ patch that makes this ROM more stable/ perfect or enables new feature, please don't hesitate to ping me to include in this thread.
I am not including any Screen Shot as all MIUI Roms looks same and there is No UI change based on Android Version in MIUI.
Best of Luck and Happy Flashing

to bypass that xiaomi account step just dont connect to wifi during setup it will fly past that. i am home screen now and i really like it. its full mi max 3 rom and you get the gestures as well as the hardware buttons. i recommend everyone to try it. i have full screen gestures and the hardware keys are also fully functional. no more back button to go back just swipe from left/right side and voila. its the chinese version of mi max 3 rom so just English but i have a mi max 3 so its no bother. use google app to install google services and thats that

only worry i have is battery drain as with these ports this is always an issue. could you provide direct link to the actual ROM thread so i can keep up to date with it or will you be doing that?

to bypass that xiaomi account step just dont connect to wifi during setup it will fly past that. i am home screen now and i really like it. its full mi max 3 rom and you get the gestures as well as the hardware buttons. i recommend everyone to try it. i have full screen gestures and the hardware keys are also fully functional. no more back button to go back just swipe from left/right side and voila. its the chinese version of mi max 3 rom so just English but i have a mi max 3 so its no bother. use google app to install google services and thats that

Nope, I am not a developer but a user and can't update.
I even don't have direct link of Chinese thread. I just got rom/ patch download link from mm2 telegram group.
Would it be possible for you to update it from the files available in download section.

I already tried many Pie roms and in my view we need Sound fix and Brightness fix (Pie based) to boot into system. Pie roms boots till boot animation and reboot itself before initial setup screen.
Anyway you can try and check where is the issue as you are a developer. I am sure you will find the solution.

From here:
https://bbs.app.nubia.cn/thread-1534133-1-1.html
October security patch.
You MUST be on Android 12 to use this!!!!!
If your already on Android 13, you can not go back to Android 12, so don't try flashing this!!!
Your bootloader must also be unlocked to install custom firmware.
To do this, reboot to bootloader and type the following: fastboot flashing unlock
The custom kernel of this ROM hides the unlocked bootloader. The device will pass Safetynet and the Play Store will report the device as certified. Based on this, root, magisk and the modules are not needed to pass device certification.
This is based on the Android Open Source Project. It includes various proprietary hardware-specific code.
All the source code is available in the Github repo here.
Basic requirements
Read through the instructions at least once before actually following them, so as to avoid any problems due to any missed steps!
Make sure your computer has adb and fastboot. Setup instructions can be found here.
Enable USB debugging on your device.
Thanks go to Github and Pixel Experience for their source code and device specific code. I couldn't have built this without it!!!
The ROM uses the Pixel Experience source code, device specific code. I made other minor changes and used compression to lower the file size of the ROM, creating more space in the internal storage with minor reduction in performance. Updated every week with minor changes.
GAPPS ARE ALSO INCLUDED WITH THIS ROM
DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR FLASH GAPPS ON THIS ROM!!!!!
DOWNLOAD RECOVERY FLASHER HERE
DOWNLOAD ROM HERE
#1 REBOOT TO BOOTLOADER
#2 FACTORY RESET: fastboot -w
#3 Have all the recovery flasher files in the same folder
Simply double click on flash.bat to install recovery
#4 REBOOT TO RECOVERY THEN ADB SIDELOAD
adb sideload PixelExperience_barbet-13-20221107-BETA-UNOFFICIAL.zip
#5 REBOOT TO SYSTEM
#6 REBOOT TO RECOVERY AGAIN IF YOU WISH TO ROOT AND ADB SIDELOAD
adb sideload magisk.apk
#7 REBOOT TO SYSTEM
Screen call and Google assistant works.
If you are already on this ROM, you can dirty flash updates without wiping data. Simply set to inactive slot in bootloader. Reboot to bootloader then
fastboot --set-active=other
Then repeat all steps except #2
YOU MUST WIPE WHEN COMING TO THIS ROM THE FIRST TIME!!!
Hello, thanks for for new custom rom. Can you please post screenshots with which customizations available in this ROM? For example double tap on status bar to go sleep, etc?

Thanks for the info. Any bugs let me know.
I'm having a issue right now getting the updates pushed through the updater. For now you can manually update without wiping by the following method until I get it fixed. Reboot to bootloader and check what your active slot is. Switch to opposite slot by the following. Example, active slot is b. fastboot --set-active=a Reboot to recovery and sideload update file. Reboot to recovery and sideload Gapps file. Reboot to system. You will then have to reboot to recovery to sideload magisk and root again. Updates are always installed in opposite slot or you will be stuck at bootanimation. This will hopefully be temporary until I get the issue resolved.

Ok thank you. Someone sent me a personal PM saying that phone calls were dropping for no reason and all text messages were not being received to their phone. I can't seem to see any issue from the logcat they sent me. Any truth to this from you or anyone else? I am using this myself and don't have such issues. Maybe it's carrier related. I have Verizon. I will check with him and see what carrier he is using. I will give him the benefit of doubt.

Hello, did you try to downgrade bluetooth AVRCP version ? You can change it in the developer settings.
Default version is 1.5 (in Pulkit based rom) and I have problems too with my Pionner Car system.
It's working for me with 1.4 version, so you can try ;-)
Can you check the version setting in CherishOS ?

oh hang on i was installing the GAPPs, does that only include said apps?
Now it's rebooting to OrangeFox...
Edit 1: Following these steps:
At step 4 i get "unable to mount storage", then, installing CherishOS I get the same "Unable to mount storage" errror message. Notably, the phone has an SD Card in it and i was installing the .zip files from that SD, not sure if that is/isn't what you're supposed to do.
Edit 2: Ok, so TWRP it said to try formatting, this somehow resolved seemingly everything.. It just booted straight into Cherish.. Seems fishy to me, there was some skepticism in my mind as to the stuff I was selecting to wipe, so I'm still looking for comments of reassurance/advice.
