I listen to music using a set of wired headphones, connected thru a USB-C dongle.
- The headphones are Bose QC20.
- The USB-C dongle is iBasso DC02.
- My music app is Google Play Music.
I'm rooted, with the following Magisk modules installed;
- ViPER4Android FX v2.7.1.0
- Audio Modification Library v2.4
I used to be able to double click the single button built into the Bose QC20's inline mic, to get Google Play Music to skip to the next track. Or at least I thought I could. Hmmm, maybe I'm remembering my old Nexus 6.
Anyone else able to skip tracks with a double-click of the button on their wired headphones connected to a USB-C dongle?
How'd you do it?
EDIT: I also have EdXposed and Gravity Box installed
I think this may be related to the iBasso DC02 USB-C adapter.
My memory of being able to skip tracks is coming back to me now.... I was (and am) indeed able to do this when using an Apple USB-C adapter. I just pulled the Apple adapter out of the junk drawer, and plugged it in. Sure enough, skip track works.
So, this looks like an iBasso DC02 thing.
I'll have to see if I can get with them and figure out a solution.

I'm looking into car stereos, and is there a way to get one with a usb port that I could do audio out of the phone through it?
Right now I have to cables needed for my phone in the car, power cable and headphones. I'm trying to see how I can eliminate the headphones, but still keep the ability to use my phone for music (while its charging). I keep my music on the internal storage (not SD), but also use Pandora or Audiogalaxy.
Also if there are any stereo units that can do this and have support for ipod of usb that would be great too.
almost every car stereo brand has one with usb ports but unfortunately I think you need one with an auxiliary out that will connect thru 3.5 mm headphone jack
edit: I think there might be some out there that have bluetooth for playing music actually

Check CrutchField.com and it should work just like you want. Go to best buy with your cable and plug into one of the HU's there and try it. Your music would need to be on the SD card and disk drive setup from the phone end I think

This means your phone will act as an USB thumb drive.. It may not be the same effect you want, but is a pretty good solution.
I use a nice sony head to stream the media audio to in my truck, often 8 or 10 hours a day, love it. A few head units will allow phone and audio seperately. The ability to connect bt headset and head unit to the phone is well worth the money if you spend much time driving
Pioneer offers many units that have the bluetooth built in that allow audio streaming and call interuption etc
I know in my 2011 Camaro i can do call audio and any audio on my Incredible (ie: music, sounds, games, videos all output audio via bluetooth since the radio acts as headphones) but of course were also talking about a stereo that has rare support for the Zune integrated right into the USB.
The sony in my 2011 freightliner does the media and phone seperately, phone can be connected to stereo and headset at the same time, mp3 thru the stereo and calls thru the headset. Even with the external mic for the stereo people got too much background noise. Car might be a little quieter inside tho

I was wondering if anyone is using USB headphones to listen to music.
I was able to use these two apps and figure out that my headset (Logitech G930) is directly supported right through OTG no need for DAC:
First: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.extreamsd.usbaudiorecorderpro&hl=en
Second: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.extreamsd.usbaudioplayerpro&hl=en
Only issue is with the player its native to the app so i can't use Grooveshark through the USB.
Was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get it working or does have it working without a DAC.
EDIT: Buttons now working as well on the headset (play/pause forward/back and volume rocker) but no audio still
Hi!
I just got a 2010 Ford Fusion and I noted that the car has an aux function. I got an Aux cord that I had laying around for ever and I decided to give it a go.
I turned on Spotify, connect the aux cord but I didn't hear music coming out of the car, it was playing through the speakers on the Nexus 6. I connected my MacBook Pro with the same aux cord and I was able to hear my music fine.
I am on Chroma and I have Viper4Android installed, could it be something with v4a? I have headphones enabled in the control panel in V4A.
Thank you very much!

First check if the phone speakers are switched off when you connect headphones.
When your headphones are working you need a adapter cable headphone output to aux.
Do you have the latest update of V4A?
Thank you for your replies!
I do have the latest V4A installed, and my headphone port does work with headphones. I kept on searching and it's apperantly something to do with the audio config file. I downloaded the Viper AIO fix zip file on the Nexus 6 V4A topic and it fixed the AUX issues. Now I can listen to my music through the AUX cord in my car!!
Thank you for all your help
I've got a strange problem with my M7, currently running CM12.1. I use a cassette to AUX adapter on my old cars radio to play music through the speakers. When I start playing the music when it's plugged in, it seems to skip the songs indefinitely, as though you're holding the skip button, this happens on both the spotify application and the 'music' application. My guess is the phone thinks the cassette adapter is sending it commands or something like those in-line controls on earphones. This only happens when using the adapter, works fine using my sennheiser earphones. I doubt it's the adapter itself, because I've bought two of them and the same problem arose. It used to work about a year ago, could damage to the phones 3.5mm jack cause this? Remember, my earphones work perfectly.
Cheers.

Probably the cassette adapter, I don't think they designed those to be used with smartphones back in the days. I would insert the cassette adapter in the radio and take some voltage and resistance readings on the jack. There shouldn't be any voltage, if there is, that could damage your phone. Compares the resistance of each contacts on the aux jack with a set of earbuds that are equipped with a "next" button (and press it), you'll maybe found the same resistance value... Might also only be caused by the audio jack not having the same connections than a standard audio jack.
Hello all, I didn't see any recent posts regarding setting Android Auto to use aux audio output instead of USB. I have an LG V30 and the Quad DAC sound quality is significantly better over aux than USB in my Ascent's Harmon Kardon speakers. It is very inconvenient to have to unplug my phone and manually select aux in the media center settings just to play good quality music. Please help! [emoji24]

I feel ya. I have the V35, but it doesn't matter what phone. What you have to do is before plugging in your phone USB to launch AA, you must select your audio source first. And then, do not select anything else like Play Music or any other app that plays music because you can't get back to it without unplugging and plugging back in. The good thing is that you can still change tracks via steering wheel controls. I don't see Google baking in functionality for AUX ports anytime soon if ever since they want it all to go through USB and AA.
Did you try to use the option in developer settings in phone system menus to disable audio through USB routing?
