Hello, I have a China version of K20 Pro. I unlocked the bootloader, but decided to lock the bootloader again, by flashing the K20 Pro CN ROM. Right now the phone is on MIUI 11 update (Android 10). I can't get Google Pay to work. I turn on NFC, the credit card (PC bank Mastercard) registers fine, but at the cash terminal, the phone does not carry out the transaction.
What am I doing wrong?
In NFC settings change to hce wallet

there's no hce wallet setting. Do I need to download an app? Please advise and thank you
I have the exact same situation as yours. I found the HCE setting in NFC settings, as suggested by @kiknusko. The next time I have to buy something, I will give a try and report here the outcome.
UPDATE: I paid with GPay successfully. There were two problems: set the NFC for HCE wallet and give the app GPay the permission for accessing the NFC.

Greetings all,
I am a new owner of the Mi 9. I was able to successfully link a Mi account to the device, but I constantly get the SIM Activation Error after each reboot. Will this in any way prevent me from unlocking the bootloader when the time comes? Btw, I'm using my Mi 9 global edition with T-Mobile US.
Nope it won't. It only means that Xiaomi can't activate the SIM on their server (which makes sense since they are in China). It won't have any impact on anything. You can turn off Xiaomi Sync/Find My Phone if you don't want constant error after reboot
Hi! I was facing the same problem, but after weeks of testing i found some ways to fix it.
So, i did this guide to fix sim activation errors on xiaomi phones.
Got a K20 Pro with Indian rom so no NFC but it has the NFC chip inside. Question is... What do I need to do to make it work and also use it with Google Pay.
1. Do I flash Global Rom ?
2. Do I wait for a Magisk fix ?
Would also want to know how to avoid Bricking my device if I decide to lock it in the 9T Pro Global Rom to try and get L1 Widevine certification.

You cannot get NFC working with the Indian ROM. It may be possible that someone manages to find a way to enable it, but I wouldn't count on it.
Flashing the global ROM should enable it again.
Unfortunately you cannot lock the bootloader if you install any official ROM that's not for the same region that the phone is from originally. Again someone may find a way to get round this, but also don't count on this either.

Thanks ! Guess I'll either flash 9T Pro Global and try some fixes to get NFC to work with GPay or I'll Flash Xiaomi.Eu since some people got GPay to work with a Magisc Universal Compatibility Fix.
I'm using Miui EU stable and a banking app. My device is unlocked and rooted (Magisk).
When I enable 'Enter pincode' in my banking app (Dutch ING) and i'm doing a payment, my phone vibrates and nothing happens. If I disable the pincode, the payment is done without any problem.
On the original Xiaomi ROM everything works as intended. As soon as I install Miui EU, the phone refuses to show the pincode screen of my banking app.
So:
Miui original ROM: no pincode: payment is done. Pincode: phone shows screen to enter pincode and payment is done.
Miui EU: no pincode, payment is done. Pincode: phone vibrates and no screen to enter pincode.
Any thoughts on how to fix this? I've already set all permissions.

Physically take out the SIM and move it to another slot and reboot first
If that doesn't work try reseat in the original slot and reboot
If that doesn't work maybe factory reset or update your firmware / flash the Eu etc
If your going to that much hassle you might as well get the latest features at the same time...
Hi guys
I'm not a newbie but I've no more ideas to solve the lost nfc funktion.
My device is sweetin.
I didn't checked nfc before, in the meantime I've flashed cherishos, derpfest, arrow .....and octavios.
Some days ago I decided to try nfc in octavios but there were nothing to find ...no toggle in qs tiles ...no settings about nfc.
So I started to flash and test some ROMs. no success, again and again no nfc toggle. Tried some nfc fixes like nfc willow fix...no success.
All flashing was clean with format yes.
I've decided to flash stock sweetin 12.0.10 via twrp, no success. again with mi flash utility and I've locked the bootloader to get really factory reset. Flashing no probs, booting and updating to 12.5.2 no probs.
But no nfc button.
Unlocked bootloader again, flashed xiaomi.eu
Now nfc toggle is back but not working.
Flashing octavi os, nfc button still present BUT not working (can't activate nfc)
Hopefully someone can help with ideas suggestion solutions?
Thanks in advance
- unfortunately you'll not be able to use NFC ever on your phone
- you can't use something that is not physically there
- sweetin has no NFC implemented, because it's a phone specifically for Indian market, and for whatever reason they don't use NFC there
