Are they enough stable to use it now?
And if so, which ones. Using converted A2 if it makes any difference.
I use the latest PE, and it works fine for me.

Ended up using Pixel experience on Android 10 with magisk and cam3 API (google cam port) and no problems do far as well as battery time
Yup, pe is quite stable, and what i love about the rom, it is official with a weekly update.

hi tirta, can you point me to the PE thread that you're using?
Cause the official PE in this sub XDA (this) is still on android 9.0 and looks like no one replied since months ago.
Thanks

Hi!
So I'm wondering if there is an ongoing developement of AOSP or LinageOS or other atlernatives for the Mi8, and if we will see any official beta release anytime soon?
I'm sick and tired of miui and all the system apps that's impossible to remove, and they keep fighting back to be default app. Grr! I would very much like a cleaner build, and would gladly be a beta tester. Although my experience from Mi5 is that miui felt more responsive than the linageos nightlies, I would rather have that and be able to choose my own apps.
Would I be even better off with this new Treble stuff?
Load MIUI 10 onto it, or global MIUI 9. Have no issues with default apps on MIUI 10. Had that with the original MIUI 9 China-rom though.

Are you able to remove all the Mi apps? Video, wallet, app store etc?
The fact is that I'm most fond of as close to stock android I can get, which is why I want AOSP. If it was possible to build AOSP on my own and still get camera, GPS and stuff to work as it should, then I'd do that.
I think it's better to have a rom built without bloat, rather than try to hide it afterwards.

Can you guide us into this MIUI 10 thing? I have china rom and unlock bootloader. No Root/TRWP or anything.
Just follow the steps here; https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/8-7-12-v2.44949/
You need TWRP.
Or wait till sources are released and there will probably be development available for AOSP/Lineage.
I have installed a treble rom (I think the RR one). The rom is working well but I went back to MIUI as Oreo doesn't support the notch yet.

Cool, was everything else than the notch working as it should? The notch is not important to me..
Aosp would be very good, always my first choice to use. Lineage can wait [emoji3]
Hope we have devs who waiting to cook the stock roms[emoji3] Otherwise I have to sell my mi8 and buy a OnePlus6[emoji26]

Dude, I'm just like you.
Currently running MIUI10 beta from Xiaomi.eu though. It's not perfect or as close to AOSP/Lineage yet but it's a TON better!
Ok Google still doesn't work & it's still on 8.1 though but it's still better than the MIUI9 mess

how do you install it? i'm trying to install pixel experience but i can't, i only have bootloop :'(
I'm currently on the 9.8.1 developer EU ROM and it's really buggy, I know it's supposed to be buggy cause it's a weekly build but I need something more stable. I have found a stable EU build but it's from March this year and doesn't have any of the latest features or even a dark mode! Is there any latest stable build or even a weekly which is not as buggy? Any help or advice would be really appreciated. For reference the current ROM I am using has micro stutters, lags all over the UI. Sorry if my post seems too noobish or if it has offended you in any way.
I've been wondering the same. I have stable 10.2.16 and my only complaint is that it lacks newer features like the dark theme. Anyway, I have better battery life with it when compared with stock.
From what I've been reading, it seems that Mi9 will have a stable Q ROM (MIUI 11) by the end of September, but I might be wrong.

I'm experiencing some weird display flashing/flickering while using facebook. When using Chrome there's this weird thing happening where my my status becomes inverted (licuded a sacreen shot). There is a quite a bit of lag displaying device info when I enter My Device from Settings menu. There's a bit of lg too when I press the MIUI version. Just before locking my phone with the power button the status bar goes black completely. Battery life overall seems worse than when I was on the official International Global ROM

It is the same as on the stock ROM, they haven't changed nothing, you still have the good camera performance as you can get on stock
I prefer Xiaomi's stock camera app too, and the quality is amazing on this phone
Hi,
there are so many ROMs for santoni and I don't know which to use. I want to use the ROM on my main phone as a daily driver so stability is most important and I don't want to experiment.
I once used RR-Luis v5.8.5 which I really liked but it had some issues so I switched to Xiaomi.eu which I have been using ever since. Unfortunately since my last update the phone completely freezes every 2-3 days which is really annoying and furthermore there will be no MIUI 11 (don't know why).
So now I am considering waiting for 2 more months for Stock MIUI 11 Global ROM or switching to a good custom ROM. But which custom ROM would be best?
I really don't need much:
ROM must be stable.
Everything must work (including all sensors, BT, Wifi, Fingerprint etc.).
Camera2 API must work for GCam Mod.
Encryption must work.
Good Battery Life (possibility to block all the sh***y needless Wakelocks while keeping the needed ones would be great).
ROM must not be abandoned or EOL.
ROM must not be some small project with only half developer.
Customizing is nice, but stability is more important.
I am thinking about AICP, AEX or just LOS 16. Which of them is most stable/reliable?
I am using AEX since 10 September
AEX is stable and everything works fine
for GCAM i am using the arthur's 3.5.2
earlier i was using pixel experience
i used that for 2 months. but now it's discontinued.

Do you need to make full reinstall of AEX with every update? Or does dirty update work fine? Because at the related thread they recommend a clean install for updates.
I have been using latest AEX for a few weeks/months? and it is quite OK (although there are some problems with GPS and tonight my battery was completely drained). Unfortunately this is discontinued. Havoc OS and Pixel Experience seem to be maintained, but they are already based on Android 10 and my Goodix fingerprint sensor will not work. Not sure which ROM makes most sense at the moment.

Santoni has two different fingerprint sensors: either FPC or Goodix. AFAIK only FPC works with Android 10 based ROMs at the moment.

Note 8 received android 11 stable in China
Which is the best in performance, battery, stability for the Redmi Note 10 pro? 12, 12L or 13?
I come from Miui and wanted to try AOSP roms, what do you advise me?
I seek balance between performance and customization.
I wanted to know advantages and disadvantages of each one.
Thanks in advance.

Android 13 is pretty good, though I like 12/12L because of MIUI cam being ported to those ROMs
Personnaly, I'm always looking to the future. That's why I prefer use Android 13.
I used crDroid 8 (A12) for months as daily driver and it was working fine, except mic problems in the beginning.
Since no A13 version of crDroid is announced to date or in development and I wanted to migrate to A13, I searched something else.
I’m now using ProjectElixir 3.2 (Android 13) as daily driver.
Why ?
It's the third rom A13 I found on XDA with Arrows and Evolution a few time after the last Google’s release.
I installed and tested those 3 roms and I decided to remain using ProjectElixir.
It's just a question of personal taste.
In any case I will not come back to A12 because each new version of Android contains novelties.
And further I will not spend time trying all existing roms.
My phone is the Redmi Note 10 Pro.
