Why Are Words Cut In Half - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Can anyone explain why this is happening, where some lines are cut in half, and how to correct it? I have changed fonts, decreased font size, and restarted my phone, but nothing seems to help.

If you're talking about a particular application, it happens in several apps, not just one.

If you downloaded it and it did not work, try again. I had the wrong file uploaded.
how to install?
Just like any other apk. Then enable it in settings.
Great, Thanks. Am I the only one who can't see written text until I highlight it?
Am I the only one that sees nothing but text?
Edit,,,, sorry was at work and it restricted the content

You might not be familiar with the concept of how to use it. There is a tutorial on on that. I have not had any problems.
EDIT: Actually, there is a problem. When I search in the market using this keyboard it occupies the entire screen and I can't see what I'm typing

It seems like it doesn't interpret fields correctly. Typing a document is no problem (QuickOffice HD). Maybe it's best to switch to the android keyboard for that anyway since it will only be a few words to type.
EDIT: After playing with it for a few days I am disappointed. In landscape mode the entire screen is filled with an empty field and I can't see what I'm typing. It's only useful in portrait mode, really Nice concept but definitely needs more work! Maybe even make the entire keyboard smaller in landscape so you don't have to slide so much. Just my 2cents.
I have tried to change the text from white to black so it shows in the field, but i have had no luck. If anyone wants to take a crack at, be my guest. It would be sweet. Right now this keyboard is only useful on the web.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
for some reason slide-it keyboard started having a similar problem after the last update. While in landscape the text would be white on a white background and thus for all intents and purposes, invisible.
in slide-it though you can now disable full screen in landscape and enter text directly into your intended field instead of a white window.
Anyway I wonder if this has something to do with honeycomb or why it happened to both these keyboards at the same time? hmm

Tmobile apps keep creating shortcuts on home page

The Name ID and Visual Voicemail app keep creating shortcuts on my homepage. Anybody else having this issue or something similar? I've deleted the shortcuts multiple times, but after a reboot bammm there they are again.
edit: disabled Name ID and of course that no longer does it - that is useless anyway. Visual voicemail on the other hand is pretty crucial, tried uninstalling and reinstalling. No go, still re-adds to home page after reboot.

Already have it. Name ID can be disabled natively anyway though. Cant/don't want to disable visual voicemail since it's something I actually use.

Ya it sucks, I still haven't found a solution. I'm hoping once the trial period for voice to text is over that it'll stop doing this. I'm doubtful, but I can't think of any solutions right now. Glad to know I'm not the only one with the problem though.
Edit: Manually ended trial. Removed from home screen, rebooted, and it came back once more. Very annoying.
This is with the TouchWiz launcher? Have you tried deleting the entire page that the persistent icon keeps showing up on?

Did you try settings, apps, TouchWiz Home, storage, clear data?
If this works, obviously you'll have to set your TW launcher up from scratch.

Nope. Doesnt work. I even factory reset my device. For now the only solution is to ask.... what order app can i use for visual voice mail instead of the official tmobile app?

Anyone else notice notification bugs on Oreo?

I updated to Oreo last week and i noticed when i got Spotify on and locking the screen, the play bar is black and the controls are out of place. It used to look good before the update. Same with Textra, when changing the theme colour to white, i get this weird grey dot next to the name of the sender (on the lock screen). Also notifications from Messenger on the lock screen, the profile picture is out of place. I've already used factory reset twice.

Bad experience with the new One UI update

After the update, those 2 useless bars appeared I've tried to find every setting to turn them off but I can't find any (I already looked in the Edge Screen and all those advanced function settings) nothing helps
Please help me Thank you!
P/s: its function is Back, but I don't need 2 extra Back! My nav works fine!
(Solved) it turns out that the One Hand Operation+ app causes this, I uninstalled it and they are gone

I dont have the issue, i haven't factor reset too. Few people have it and it was solved by reset. It is highly advisable to factory reset. Those lines are actually a navigation gesture. If you swipe download from the line, it acts as back button and swipe straight horizontally to go to home. Swipe upwards for recent apps.
Make backup using smart switch and use google to sync game progress.

Question Did anyone find a solution against the agressive background killing of apps?

Apps will automatically close within 10-20 seconds after I leave the app through the home gesture. It drives me crazy that literally no app will stay open in my recents. I tried locking the apps in the recents, it did not help. (What's the sense of locking apps there then?!)
Anyone has a solution/workaround?
Just select to not optimize that app in battery settings....
I'm on OOS 13 Open Beta 2 build and haven't encountered this issue at all. Apps stay in background for hours honestly.
Maybe check Battery Optimization for each of those apps and permit Background Activity?

I did that but it doesn't help. Apps stay in recent when I leave them but if I open it again seconds later, I'm greeted with the splash screen and for example Chrome reloads the website.

This is definitely a tweak/edit/change you did somewhere on your end. Maybe developer options?

Weird doesn't happen to me at all. I just checked, and I am even in battery saver mode. Programs stay in RAM as expected, and load immediately in the state/position they are in. Android 12 A.15, rooted, tons of debloat via adb disable. I also even run Malwarebytes with realtime stuff and scanning enabled.
Double post. Please delete

I'm sure it does, try opening one app, copy from one, switch to another and paste, continue doing that. Eventually it'll lose your position.
Apps remain in recents yes but the absolute state is not kept.

Thats so weird because they won't stay open in the background for like most of us. 10 seconds after I minimize an app like Gmail, then reopen it, I will be greeted with the Spash Screen of Gmail which takes like 1-2 seconds.
Chrome is even more annoying, since the website I was on 10 seconds ago, will have to reload.
It's stupidly annoying and I tried everything to get it fixed. With this behavior of RAM, that Apps close withing literaly seconds, 2 GB RAM could have also made the deal
