Perfect! OnePlus 7T needed this.
Don't understand why OnePlus doesn't do this.
Thank you for your work!
Thanks for this, Nice for my OP6T !
How strange they remove it, it works on OP6 natively (maybe in display finger print shenanigans).
I'd love for the OP6 to get the 6T's single tap to activate ambient display, though.
Doesn't work on OP6 due to no tap to wake...

Seconding this, I can't get the first mod to work on OP6 as well.
Very nice, thanks for your work.
Is it possible to add an option so AOD will stay active such as pixel AOD?
Request for APK
Hi, unable to download APK. Can anyone please help? Whenever I click on the GitHub link, I get the version numbers, but on clicking on the version number nothing happens. Thanks.
Interesting how this feature disappeared, it made my OP3 much easier to quickly check and view lockscreen notifications... Any way this could be adapter for Huawei devices such as my Mate20Pro? It's a feature I've missed badly ? current app doesn't work, I suspect Huawei use different names for AOD components?
Will this activate the AOD only when notifications/reminders come? It won't activate the AOD if I tap to wake?
Installed the app, but after the tap to wake, the screen shuts off like normal after 2 seconds
Not working like AOD for me
Anybody having issues with finger print scanning after installing this mod? Phone stopped recognizing for after installing this mod but works normal after uninstalling the mod?
Hmm interesting. Will try when Im back to oos.

Thank you beautiful stranger!! Works great. Will it obey do not disturb OS settings?
@XJIOP great mod !! thank you for this
My quick feedback after 30min of usage :
- reminders : the interval in seconds seems not to work properly, ex: 15sec gives me about 30sec interval, 30sec gives me a minute...
- it would be perfect if, instead of "generic reminder message" we have just a simple wakeup of AOD screen

My idea for this app was to turn on AOD screen, like you said, but I did not find how to do it, so I made reminders. If anyone knows how to turn on AOD screen, share your experience.

This app does not touch Android doze mode, therefore we have delays in intervals. I think it’s better to avoid battery drain. Just simply to set shorter interval 5 or 10 seconds.
Would it be good to have the option to have reminders time out after certain amount of time to save battery life in case you are away from the phone for an extended period of time? Great App by the way

Depends on what your settings are....I see mine fine but I know that doesn't help unless you're me.
So Here's what I have set:
For the Lock screen, the notifications are set to ON from the lock screen settings. That alone should allow you to see them.
I'm using the stock always on display (NOT the goofy app from the playstore), there's an option for Always on Display Alerts...within that I have set the Reminders ON.
I'm also using the Edge lighting and get notifications from that as well.

That's my bad : I thought notifications to be old style banner with text and not a tiny icon under the clock wich I have to press to be prensented the shadow mode AND the banner displaying "missed call" or whatever.

I mean, you can change it. Just go to settings > lock screen > notifications (not the toggle button, but press the banner itself), then on the view style option, change it to brief (no information shown, but banners shown) or detailed (which was default on non-pie phones).
Is there a way for the Samsung messages to just flash on the AOD (I have AOD set to tap to show) and not turn on the whole screen to show. Similar to the 6t it pixel ambient display?
Thanks
If you set messages notifications to sound+popup it should turn on the screen for a bit, but the aod image will be static.

That's what I have currently. I'm trying to see if just the AOD can show and not have the screen turn on at all
So far my only pain point with this phone is that specific notifications don't show on the lock screen.
So far I can say Spotify and slack for sure
Is there a setting for this somewhere that I'm missing?
Running the ww rom on tencent phone
Edit: I figured out how to manually enable the lock screen notifications
Does it allow u to see what the notifications is? Are just the icon of it?
Do you see all the notifications on the lock screen?. Because i can only see the notifications of social apps(wechat,whatsapp,facebook..). other apps notifications i can only see them from the notification shade and not the lock screen( I mean no notification message or icon shown on the lock screen).

You have to enable it on a per-app basis by going to the notification settings for each app you want.
Not uncommon for Chinese phones

Yeah I have done that, actually you have to do it on the notification settings in the settings page, at the same time inside each app notification settings section.
No notifications waiting makes the screen off and AOD not showing.
Recieving or already having a notification shows AOD.
On top of that you can select which apps are important to you to behave this way for their notifications and ignore others, also can be set similary for charging = on / not charging = off.
Yet it has no impact on battery maybe it will use like additional 0.009%
1- Install Always On Edge App
2- in Main settings section -> enable With AOD invisible -> but show AOD on notifications.
3- Main settings -> optional permissions -> AOD lighting controller.
4- save.
And that is it no need to enable any other permission or feature. However, please note that if you enable edge lighting then timing will be applied.
After update MIUI 12 (CHN), Line application pop up notification not shown in lock screen. The only thing I saw is a blink black dim light under display screen after recieving Line app message from other phone (while Led notification is running normal).
However, I have totally checked notification settings and its correctly set.
Please advise, thank you.

Now I can solved this problem by go to Settings > Lock Screen > When notifications come > Light up screen
