What's up guys? I really appreciate you taking the time to look at this. I recently upgraded to xiaomi.eu 9.12.19 and the fingerprint camera isn't working. Like it won't let me register at all. So I took at the goodix app to see if it sensing it at all. The screenshot below will likely tell you the rest of what happened. Now my question is have I damaged the sensor, or is this a result of a dirty flash gone wrong? And no I don't have a glass slab of a screen protector. However I do have liquid glass on this. Let me know what y'all think.
EDIT: Looks like you just need to do a clean flash. All is working as it should be.

phone: xperia z1 C6906
rom: stock 5.1.1
kernel: stock no mods
screen/touch changed by chinese one
Apply tampered glass screen protector, it will reduce/eliminate ghost touche
I'm using tempered glass screen protector but the issue is still there. Well, it may reduce that a bit though.
There are many hassles. These Z1 family support pencil touch that causes unwanted touch.
And, the touchscreen panel and display is poor.
Try this
Try this, worked for me for a few days or weeks :
Apply pressure on the digitizer, specifically in the inferior part, just like a massage ( side by side) . . after a few seconds you can verify how it works . . The only point is, this solution is not permanent. This is a hardware problem .. the real solution is replacing the digitizer. Regards

DL link in that thread is not working. Can you upload an APK?

So I've been using my S10 Plus for 3 days now, and love it. The fingerprint sensor works well.. about 95% accuracy, which is fine for me.
One thing I noticed is that if on the lockscreen, there is a trace (almost like a footprint of your fingerprint that appears on the finger print sensor, right after you press it. You'll notice it during the animation where the s10 plus transitions from your lockscreen to your homescreen.
I wonder why this is happening. Is anyone else noticing it. It's very faint. But if you change the direction of your finger you might notice it more. Also, I dont' think it'll show on black lockscreens. There needs to be some color there.
Is this something wrong with my sensor, or is it just something with new technology.
Take a look at the video where you can see this better. You might have to slow down the video or just pause it.
I don't think it's something wrong with the reader, but it kind of annoys now, and now I can't unsee it lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=19&v=w_6e8_PHCIE

I have it too, but doesnt really bother me that much as it goes away right after it verified my fingerprints.

Okay, so it's not just me... Do you think it's just new technology kinks that need to be worked out?
I wonder if they can fix it with a patch. Anybody else notice this?
What makes you guys think it's a glitch, seems intentional to me, easier to tell where your tapping
It's an imprint of how much of your thumb surface was used to scan your fingerprint. People that are having fps issues can see that if you press it hard enough to cover the whole scanner the phone unlocks everytime. I had fps issues until I got att update about 500mb. With whitestone screen protector it's working as advertised. Just rescan your fps when you get the update and it's very accurate. As long as you press hard enough to make a big imprint of your thumb on the scanner.
So, I've noticed a weird problem my RP2 has. I carry it in my hip pocket, and at times (happens frequently enough to be annoying) when I pull it out to use it, the screen doesn't respond to a normal touch. I have to really push down hard on the screen to get it to register. If I let it sit for a few seconds/minutes the touch responsiveness fixes itself and it can be used normally. Not sure if it could be a physical problem with the digitizer/connection or if something is going on when it is "asleep" in my pocket. Just weird that it fixes itself. Anybody else see anything like this or have a suggestion as to what it could be? The phone is totally usable, and even when it messes up it still works I just have to push super hard to get it to do anything. Sometimes i'm afraid I'm going to snap the glass, although I don't really think that is likely to happen. Thanks for any ideas.
Just to weigh in I also have this issue not very often but enough to notice it. Especially since the last update also when I zoom with the stock camera it just freezes.
I'm having similar issues, camera fixes if i reboot but thats annoying if your trying to get a moving shot, also noticed it sometimes freezes switching to portrait mode.
For the screen freeze I have found if i use my finger print to unlock when the screen isnt responding its starts to work. but i didnt have the problem until i put on a crappy glass screen protector.
I just got the phone and im using arters r2 kernel with f2fs on data, as well as magisk and xposed so i wasn't sure if it was something i did but since others are seeing it ill assume its something with the phone and see if theres any fixes or decide if i should return it.

Mine does that too, but I'm not on the new kernel. Maybe it has something to do with the ambient display being turned on.

I use Ambient Display and sometimes the screen behaves as you've described where it won't reach to touch, but I've always just given it time/pressed the power button repeatedly until the screen came on (or continued to tap the screen lightly)... never tried pressing down very hard.
Not to Necro a thread but I've experienced this aswell, infact it's happening right now as I type this.
Hey! Anyone else just really bothered by how bad the fingerprint scanner and face unlock are? Tips welcomed to make them more bearable using.
I was when I first got it. However, once peeling off the hard, clear screen protector, my fingerprint it's registered and recognizes nearly every time. Only about one in 30 fails or so.
Haven't tried face recognition. Don't really want to, as the method used is not secure.
the below seamed to work for me ... not 100%.. but far better

Easier way to do this. SETTINGS>DISPLAY>TOUCH SENSITIVITY. Enable to "Increase the touch sensitivity of the screen for use with screen protectors."
Delete your old fingerprints and redo them.

so in short this problem has plagued the phone since day one and i suspected a HW issue since nothing fixed it. for those who dont know whats im talking about, you are lucky. the issue is basically that the proximity sensor is missed up so the screen will light up when you are in a call or listening to Whatsapp/Telegram voice messages.
The Solution:
The problem, turned out, was caused by the factory screen protector that came already applied to the phone. i removed it after it was damaged and also removed the case (Spigen Rugged Armor Case), cleaned the phone and VIOLA its working perfectly fine now...
i hope it works for everyone else.
So, what you are saying is:
Since when this phone got launched in May 2019, not a single user facing the proximity sensor issue had the ingenious idea to remove their factory applied screen protector and you are the first one to come up with this "fix"?
I am really sorry to be this discouraging but: This ain't it chief.
Good that it fixed your perception of the issue though
Comrade, the issue is far graver than that. OnePlus 7Pro does not have a proximity sensor per se. It uses software (an ai I think) to "guess" whether to turn on the screen or not which is why listening to voice notes gets crazy...

Even though it does have an infrared sensor under the screen (that has been proven), i agree with you that it seems to be using something like that.. Curiously, the proximity sensor once fired when i flicked off my lights in my room.. This indeed leads me to believe there is more going on than just a simple infrared proximity sensor..
But yeah, i don't think removing the stock screen protector "fixes" the thing.. It may improve things but i doubt it's a fix.. As i said, this phone has been out for a while and people would have noticed if removing the screen protector fixes the proximity sensor for good..So yeah, cheers mate.
I took the screen protector off before I turned the phone on for the first time. I still get the screen lighting up while I'm on a call, often muting it with my cheek.
I must be lucky but at the moment I have no such issue with my new OP7P (MFD: 2019/05). RR Rom. Still have the screen protector on it. What's the MFD of your unit ?
i have problem with my oneplus since i rooted this phone
after root i have installed pixel expereince rom
when i called i found proximity sensor not working
now almost 6 months no fixed i'm stock oos
please help me there is no guard on my phone also no cover
The simplest solution for me has been to use a Bluetooth headset. I rarely use it without it.
