Hi.
I have LG v40 unlocked from sprint, model lm-v405UA. Firmware from may 2019. In LG web site there is an update from December.
When i connect it to lg bridge to update firmware it doesnt recognized the phone. Of course i installed lg usb driver.
Second question is, which kdz file for lg v40 can i flash instad the original firmware?

I bought a new Lg g4 model h81520g as shown in setting>about phone>software info. I wanted to check for update but there's no software update option, only apps update is available. so what I decided to do is to reflash the stock software to enable update option. I downloaded the kdz file "H81520g" but when I connected it to computer and ran the LGUP it shows another variant which is LS991zv6. I tried to flash the downloaded file, but it gives an error "invalid kdz. My Lg g4 comes with marshmallow on board. the stock recovery works fine, and also the download mode is fine.
my question is: should I download and flash LS991zv6? by the way, I checked my imei in imei info .com and it shows the model as LS991 sprint

Zv6 is lolipop no mm. U need to check the motherboard. Must disasmble the device and see what it says. Bit if the device is working i would leave it be. Its almost more hassle than its worth

Like really id leave it be u are running the risk of a hard brick if not done properly. No fix from there
I am sure that my lg g4 is a marshmallow motherboard is msm8992 serial starts with LGLS991.... and the LGUp shows LS991zv6

Thats what im telling u zv6 is a lolipop firmware for sure no debate there..
Thats why i say leave it be. This is one of those if u mess up u can hard brick it. Theres not a diffrence between mm and lolipop motherboards but zv6 is a lolipop firmware. Not mm.
are you telling me that software info in about the phone is wrong
Android version 6.0
android security patch level
01-11-2016
Baseband version
MPSS.BO.2.5.c3-00106-m8992FAAAZM-1
Kwernal version

Build number
MRA58K
Software version
H81520g
Security software version
MDF v2.0 release 1
this is the software info. I also downloaded some apps and they all show that it's Marshmallow 6.0 with motherboard 8992 H815

Hi
I've bought an international and unlocked V40 (LMV409N) which was delivered with branded firmware from "Telekom Korea" (V409N10y_00_KT_KR_OP_0109.kdz). Expect of the problem that my download and upload bandwith stucks @ 3MB/s the phone works well in Switzerland. Now i did some research and saw that my provider often uses LTE Band 7 (2,6 GHz) wich not seems supported by Telekom Korea.
Another provider in Korea SK Telecom supports that band and i found it's firmware (V409N10y_00_SKT_KR_OP_0109.kdz) on lg-firmwares.com.
Is there any way to flash this firmware on my V40?
I've tried with LGUP, but i miss the LGUP_common.dll for the V40. I've also extracted the driver out of the kdz firmware file, but the software does not accept that driver.
I've tried with the LG Flash tool 2014 and 2016, but there is also a driver needed. The 2016 flashtool shows error " (s) failed to load", com port is changed to port41....
Thanks in advance
Hi-Fish

I'm interested in crossflashing LG V40. I did that on LG V30+ twice. Here is the XDA topic: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/how-to/using-lgup-crossflashing-t3780969
My YouTube Tutorial:
I had LG V30+ (us998) on Sprint and all the bloatwares. I used patched LGUP & DLL file and flash ls998 witch is unlocked V30 kdz. Ot worked prefect. Then i tried to flash some another kdz file, didn't succeed, brick the phone. But then i use CHIP erase and tried to flash ls998 (unlocked) on it. And it worked but that delete serial number and other details. Bc i did chip erase. But phone worked fine at the end?
Hello everyone, I have an lg g4 h811 that constantly says please select a known model in LGUP. I want to return to stock firmware from AEX pie rom, and now I am stock in a boot loop. It gets into download mode though, I have tried all methods I know like using flash tool 2014, lgup, updated all the drivers, even changed the com port to 41 ( in case of flash tool ) still no luck. please I need help ASAP.
Did you find a solution for this? I am experiencing the same thing.

Unfortunately, it doesn't exist. No one has one. There is another Thread about partition backups, and qfil was used to back up one of the AT&T kdz. But to restore is more complicated than just using LG up and a kdz.
Thanks for the reply. I think US unlocked might take it’s sweet time to get Android 10.
Anyway do you know if crossflashing stops OTAs. I’m pretty sure US unlocked has January security update but I’m stuck on November. When I try to search it says no updates available
