I am trying to fix my phone. I need to find out what "update channel" my phone uses. Unfortunately for me, I cannot find the update channel of my phone.
My "about phone" has Device name, Phone #, Emergency Information, SIM status, model & hardware, hardware information, IMEI, Android Version, IP address, WIFI Mac address, Bluetooth Address and Build Number. I am already in developer mode so I get nothing from the "build number" when I tap on it. Android version shows Android security patch level, baseband version, kernel version, build number.
Is there an ADB command to find update channel?
I know, I know, I am lame.

im trying to download the latest rom from htc's website, but when they ask me for my serial no., they say it's invalid...!
what do i do?
Do you have a network branded device? If so, they won't let you get it from them as they want you to get it direct from your network.
nope, it's an open line phone...
put serial number in[carefully]
check your o/0
My phone specs are:
Model Number: LG-P925
Android Version: 2.3.5
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7+
Build Number: GRJ90
Software Version: LGP925-V20p-FEB-22-2012
So it used this nice guide to root my phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975933
I then had to use this guide to install ClockworksMod because it seams that nothing comes easy on this phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1257588
I loaded the stable version of cyanogen for the LG Thrill and it starts up and runs, but the problem is that I get no network connection, when i try to import contacts I get "No vCard file found", and my phone says that my IMEI is unknown.
I have looked around and seen that it may be because i have a bad file in EFS, but i have no idea where to find this so called EFS folder.
Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated, and try to keep the explanations at a low level because I only started doing all this stuff yesterday so i have a limited understanding on what is actually going on.
And I have tried to do the following steps:
1. Connect phone by USB
2. Activate USB debug mode
3. Enter 3845#*920# in dialer if that doesn’t work try 3845#*925#
4. Select Port Settings -> Select CP Image Download
5. A new device should appear at let it install
6. Open Tutty and select serial protocol. Click on open
7. Type AT if response is not OK, change port number (it is possible that when typing you don’t see any letters)
But i cant get past step 3, because entering either of those two doesnt do anything on the phone. I'm assuming because those are specific for Gingerbread, but when i re-install gingerbread and try these again Tutty doesnt open when i select serial protocol, it just gives me an error.
Ha, i found my problem. I dont have a baseband, it comes up as unknown. Did a little reading and found that "he baseband is the subsystem of the phone that controls radio communications. It's a chipset on the phone that directly controls cellular hardware and communications with cell towers."
Well now i just need to figure out how to get it on the phone and which one to use.
Edit:
Ya I'm still having problems i can't get any of the ROM's to work. I was stupid and didn't save Nandroid backup so i cant even go back to what i had before. I tried going back to the standard P925 ROM but it still didnt recognize the SIM. When i try the P920 ROM the SIM is recognized, but all the text is shifted so i cant read most of anything.
Any help would be much appreciated
Get thrill seeker 3.0 or higher I'm on 3.0 not the greatest rom but works
Sent from my LG-P925
Need a solution badly.."Invalid IDevice ID must be a valid IMEI or MAC address."
"Invalid ID:
Device ID must be a valid IMEI or MAC address. Without device ID, some Mi Account and Cloud features won't be available."
then it goes for checking device status
Followed by this error:
Couldn't check the Find device status.
What l had done.
A month ago my mi3 started showing "insert sim card" though there was already one in the mobile, i thought that this because of newly "weekly update" but after next update it didn't solved, so i searched for the problem on google and this forum and i found that this problem is hardware one. So i went to the expert, he checked and said that the sim tray is running fine. Then again i waited for an update and it arrived but then again it didn't solved.
Finally i applied "Wipe & Reset" and came the disaster, miui 8 started in fashion but while i was in some elementary steps of selecting language and country I was encountered with this error--
"Invalid ID:
Device ID must be a valid IMEI or MAC address. Without device ID, some Mi Account and Cloud features won't be available."
and I finally stopped at MIUI ACCOUNT Details form.
Followed by this error:
Couldn't check the Find device status.
I reset it several times but the outcome is nil.
I even tried Flashing using Mi pc suite with "miui V7.5.6.0.MXDCNDE" it does nothing and repeated again and again except changing miui 8 (6.7) developer to miui 7.5 stable.
I have no EFS saved
Current status.
phone not opening competely, no debugging option on, no root access.
Is there anyone who can help and guide me.
If you have not tried fastboot, then give it a try. And after it boots try to skip all the MI authentication steps. I think Mi framework is checking something and then giving you error.
Try flashing an old backup. I had the same issue but on pa 6.0(unofficial) or flash a cm rom and see if the problem exists.
There are modules for XPOSED that will allow you to force an IMEI or change various device ID information, you'll be good
Hi
My phone works good but suddenly (I don't know why!) my data network stop working
I check Model number and build number and I saw model number is "unknown" and build number changed to belong!
and off course my data network is not working at all! on my screen it shows 4g or 3g but no data!
when I decided to installing new rom it said "check if vendor / country valid" and stop installing
I use this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/hon...0sft-fixed-t3324335/post68920214#post68920214
and change model number to "Che2-L11" and as I don't know my build number I changed it to "Che2-L11C185B330" (I live in middle east so I change it to this one as I searched and this build number is for middle east and as in my country there are lots of build number like maleisia, middle east, usia and etc, I don't know it's ok or not!)
now when I want update rom the error changed to something like "check version fail. update fail"
please help me!
I can't do anything!
please help
Best Regards!

you changed your version in build but you still have oem info from old rom. use huawei update extractor (can be found on xda) to extract cust.img from c185b330 and then just flash it with fastboot (adb reboot bootloader, fastboot flash cust cust. img)
now just try update again
Fixed your issue?
I'm trying to unlock my bootloader to install root in the android 10 beta, and the official bootloader unlock tool is giving me this error-- see below. Is there any way to go around the app or fix the issue, I've tried rebooting and it's been way since the early morning. Both wifi and cellular results in this error.
Maybe that not support android Q
Check if you have a serial number. I had this issue when I bought the phone from eGlobalCentral. They have a WW rom on the tencent version but they heavily screwed up the install messing up the EFS and destorying the serial number leaving me with a default one.
Because of this I think the app could not send the serial number to the ASUS server to be verified returning an "Unknown Error".
This might not be the case with you but that was certainly what happened with me.
You can try unlocking via EDL mode also
