Hey, I have a question, is there any mod that would enable notifications on AOD from all applications? On the development version of xiaomi.eu they work and on xiaomi.eu Stables are only basic notifications.

Hello, I was thinking about this too. If there is system apps updater, maybe there is any way to export from xiaomi.eu AOD app and make update on global rom. Currently AOD is the weakest point in global rom and lack of notification for missing calls and SMS because of Google dialer and messages is quite big big.
Solution
Hi, I was thinking about this what I wrote, finally I checked apkmirror. It seems like obvious but for me it took a while. New version there MIUI Always-on display 1.9.234-12311014 is working with SMS and Calls notifications for Google apps. It is not for all apps but for sure more than this what was in Miui 11 firmware.
So if somebody is trying to solve I hope I help.

I downloaded the apk but I cant install. Not installable from that source.
Any solution for that ? I'm on MIUI xiaomi.eu latest stable, rooted.
Just try to use a different app like "always on amoled" (newGen Mobile) from Play Store.
4 me it's even better than default aod, highly customizable and shows much more notifications.
Have to be pay for pemanent unlock all features , but worth those few coins.
Always On Amoled is good, I bought it, but unfortunately it cut my battery life by 8 hours compared to the stock AOD (phone not used, from full charge). I'm not sure of the effect in a real-life usage situation, as it would be overshadowed by everything else, but it was enough to resign myself to not having proper AOD notifications.

So. We have it. But do you think Xiaomi Will customize it like Samsung or Google!? I sure want notification icons on there.

Well i think they will, i already noticed that i have a facebook messenger icon on AOD since flashing china dev rom.
I don't think we have any customization for always on display atm. Besides, mine got turn off after 5 or 10mins, not sure why but it's a bit annoying...

I've the same problem with my Mi 8. I've the official Global Version of the phone with MIUI Global 9.5 Stable (9.5.13.0).
I've tried anything I could think of so far (turned off even all the energy saving options) but nothing will stop the Display from going completely dark after some minutes.
Can anyone help?
Ok. The phone got 2 updates since reporting the issue and is now running 9.6.7.0 and with this version the issue is gone. Now the Always on Display is always on. Fine.
You have also notifications on AOD?
When i was on miui 9 official global rom, i've notifications for email, sms and whatsapp.
Then I've installed miui10 xiaomi.eu rom, but with this version I've lost notifications....

Same here, with the same story. Still no solution.
Yes, with the new Version 9.6.7.0 I've notification icons on the AOD. It's just the small Icon for e.g. Whatsapp or Google-mail.
So no info about the content or the sender of the new mail or message, but at least there is the info in which app there is new content.
I'm using MIUI10 China ROM 10.0.1.0.
Im having trouble with getting notifications, I'm never getting notifications from fb, mess.... I have to open the app to look for new messages etc.
I have tried a dozen guides. None of them have helped me.
Autostart enabling, battery restrictions set to no restriction, miui optimization turned of.
Never had this issue with my mi4, RMN4X....
Is this an issue with the miui? Or???
Hope somebody can help me!

Had the same problem, fixed it this way:
1. Settings
2. Developer Options
3. At the bottom turn Miui optimization off
Or install xiaomi.eu rom in twrp fixed this as well.
Don't want to switch to a rom where stuff randomly stops working, so basically it has to be almost perfect. I guess Pixel Experience is the best currently? Does Google Camera work on every rom exactly like it does on MIUI?
Give me your suggestions!
>If MIUI 11 turns out to be as bad as 10
what's bad about MIUI 10? Also I just ot MIUI 11 and it's nice.

AOD not displaying any relevant notifications, awful notifications in general, Android System using the most battery(though this might be just me), bloatware(removed it via ADB but still), automatic brightness randomly blinding me at night in bed.
I put Nova Launcher just to bypass some of the horrendous stuff MIUI has.

Just removing the bloatwares will do for a while. But if you're gonna ask for a custom rom. It's good to install LineageOS. I've been using that ROM since I was in Zenfone2.
PixelROM has still too much bugs. And I think all the custom roms will be stable after a year.
I haven't found any custom rom to be stable unfortunately.
Miui 11 is a tad better than Miui 10. But not by much. It's still got the terrible notification system, poor recents layout and overly complicated settings (thank god for search).

You have a very narrow definition of stable.

Most of the ROMs are stable, however none are without some minor issues, but nothing that stops them being used as a daily. Couldn't comment on all of them, but it looks like the Oxygen OS ROM is the only unusable ROM.
There are a few that are all at a similar level, with PE being just one of them.
My suggestion is look at the ROM threads that are the most active, as they're going to be the ones with the most users, which implies they're the ones with the least bugs. After that it's personal preference as to which you choose.
Unfortunately there isn't a perfect camera solution for custom ROMs yet.
To get the best out of it, you will probably need both GCam and ANX camera installed, as both aren't perfect, but their issues don't overlap much, so between them you get almost everything covered. There are many threads that discuss which versions of each work best.

They have fixed the notifications on AOD and I agree with the bloatware problem and automatic brightness problem. Battery life is better in miui11, at least for me.
I think the most stable 3rd party rom for this device is either LOS16 or Pixel Experience based on 9. I think they will soon all move to android 10 (Official builds) before 2020. But I haven't tried any of them.

Hi.
I'm trying everything I read on internet about this problem but I can't get these google notifications being showed. I have tried to disable battery optimization over "Google" app and let all notifications from that app, but any success.
I have Chinese ROM MIUI 12.5 Would ROM EU fix this?
Thanks for your help.
Google calendar reminders work fine on my EU ROM. It tells me when to put bins out, so all good. I'm using weekly, may be someone can confirm that stable does?
It's not just you. I am not getting google reminders on my huawei mate 20x phone.
A user on reddit.com in the galaxy note 10 subreddit also has issues like you and I.
We need a fix. I use reminders every day for work.
Google calendar works fine Xiaomi.eu 12.5.7 and 12.5.9, got it set for Euro matches.

I finally got the MIUI 13/Android 12 global release on my Mi 11 a few days ago and I am quite frankly disappointed. What happened to all the features they announced? The new widgets are no where to be found, battery life feels worse or at the very least not improved -though I gotta test it more- the new super wall papers aren't around and even the new font for crying out loud isn't included.
So my question is whether this is just a temporary release that will get updated to include these things in the future or not? and if so then when?. Also, what is the european version like for those who have it, do y'all got the same missing features or not?
As far as I'm aware this is a release for pilot testers, I'm sure if you look at the telegram message on the release it says that.

My error it was the partial release, I got the pilot testers release away last month but some testers phones bricked so I thought it was a new release for testers.
The new widgets are coming, I would suggest just use Xiaomi eu or MMX which are based on latest weeklies. I'm running latest Eu and I have all the widgets and battery also is doing better. There's an option under developer settings "suspend execution for cache apps" according to a post that I read it helps with battery I have been testing it out as of now to see if it does. Anyways latest EU or MMx are by far very stable with few bugs for a weekly, with all the new functions. (MMX has the new control center style but that is easily done by just updating the control center APK.)
I have heard that the missing features will be added in the global version of Miui 13.1, but I do not know how much is true and when it would happen.
They have officially released eea version 13.0.1 and 13.0.4 which is very close to global. So far I'm disappointed, lots of bugs. Very old bugs.
On top of that, DND feature has gotten all broken after miui 13 global update. I heard same problem is with Redmi Note 10 series after the update. DND mode doesnt silent notifications at all so whats the use of it then? Cant put it overall on silent mode as important calls are at times needed to be picked whereas notifications can be put to rest. Used to be working great in 12.5 but not anymore. Hope they fix it in MI11 soon. Secondly some apps which previously turned on dark mode due to dark mode enabled are again gone white so another bug. Cant find force dark mode option in developers option too so helpless in that regard... Hope someone in Xiaomi software team takes note of this as these are both annoying bugs

You have to enable app vault, once in app vault download the widgets and from then app vault screen drag them to the other screens.

Hi,
I assume that on MIUI 13/Android 12 they have locked even MORE the fact that you CAN NO use another Launcher and make the Navigation buttons disappear.
Is that correct ? Or is there a "simple" workaround for that ?
Because I have installed DerpFerst (which is now discontinued) just to be able to :
1°) use the launcher of my choice (as I do not like the iOsish ways of the MIUI Launcher)
2°) use my own gestures and use the full screen without any naviagation bar.
If that can be done in MIUI again, I may switch to MIU (or Xiaomi.eu) again...
If anyone knows, I'd be interested in the answer.
