Jo guys,
Different from the Mi9 the Mi9 Lite /Mi cc9 has a 3,5mm Headphone jack.
I'm a little careful about the headphone jack because the one from my old redmi became dysfunctional eventually...
So does the Mi9 Lite's USB-C port have an Audio output?
Yes, just tried with usb-c ----> 3,5mm adapter.

Does it sound any different from the 3.5mm jack?
Are you ok with usb c adapter ? usb c / hdmi doesn't work on mi 9 lite, it's USB 2 not 3
Sound is the same, I tried with usb c adapter from htc u11.

I just ordered this phone and am waiting for it to come in, but was wondering if USB-C Audio works. I'm moving from an iPhone 7 to this and was hoping it would so that I can use it the same way with my in-car head unit as I did with just connecting the lightning cable

My brother bought the Huawei P20 and I just plugged in the USB-C headphones and they work. And that very well.
Yes. I have simple USB-C CDLA earphones and they work.
Anyone using a DAC with it?

Oh awesome, any idea if that would apply to being used with an in-car head unit? Kinda like how you can plug an iPhone into a lightning cable and it'll route the audio that way I assume it would if it works with earphones

Is there a certain standard I should be looking for? I tried using a Creative sound card / DAC with my old phone and it detected it as a keyboard.
What is the best audio cable for 3.5mm?
USB-C to 3.5mm female
I've used the one from my old P20 Pro, works a treat
I ordered this

Have you tried the HTC one?
Apparently, the Hidizs Sonata HD is the business although I haven't bought one yet.

I did.. And still do:good:
Comes from my HTC U11 and use it with a high-end SHURE in ears headset.
The sound is as good/perfect on my P30 pro, as it was on my U11.

using for two months.
Recommended
I've been using one for about 2 months with nothing to complain about exept the message from huawei telling me I can have a better result with the official one
My model bought on amazon:
OnePlus 6T USB C Headphone Adapter, COOYA USB C to 3.5mm AUX Audio Adapter
https://www.amazon.it/Mpow-Trasmett...9Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
Turn your aux in a bluetooth receiver... with atpx quality
I have both the HTC and Hidisz ones and they work great.
I brought RN10P recently. I'm using USB DAC on my PC. I plug the USB DAC with an adapter on my mobile, but it is not working. If RN10P support a USB-c audio dongle, then I will buy a new USB-c audio dongle. Does it support a USB-c dongle?
I've tried to use usb-c to 3.5mm mini jack from mi 11 lite.
Sadly, it didn't work for me either.

then is very sad
I tried the original HTC U11 USB C noise-canceling earphones on the RMN10PRO with Pixel Experience ROM. Doesn't work, although the phone recognises some audio thing is attached to it. No sound is output.
Been using OnePlus Bullets Type-C for months, work like charm. If earphones work dongle should too
I just tried my xiaomi usb to 3.5mm dongle on my S21U and it said usb device is not recognised.
Is this normal?
Is there "hacks" for rooted s21u?
Use the Samsung one...
kan ikke lide usb mods fra software.
60% is not working
My Apple branded one works. It feels super flimsy though.

Does the USB-C to 3.5mm dongle have a DAC converter chip inside? Some phones don't output analog audio natively through the USB-C port and require a digital to analog conversion which are supported by some external adaptors. Maybe that model device doesn't output analog audio via the USB-C?

Yes, this is the correct answer to the OP's question. You need a DAC USB-C not a simple USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. Such adapters retail for around $50+ the better the DAC the higher the price.
Thanks
Well I will only use my good Mpow M30 bt
It works with 3.5mm dongle

Just bought a 32bit/384kHz sampling one for 8$ on Aliexpress...and before you tell me I can't hear difference between this and a 16bit one...let me tell you..I DO.
I got a 3$ DAC onw and while good for calls, I can definitely tell the difference for music.
And yes, I have the Huawei adapter that came with a Mate 20 Pro ( remember the times when power adapters, cables and 2.5mm jack converters came with phones???) and it's not recognized by the S21U.
Don't curse me for the idiotic link below..I can't shorten it from the ios app:

you need one with a DAC

You will surely hear the difference between a 16bit and 32bit sampling. It's very likely Huawei adapter may not have a DAC on board as my OnePlus 7Pro adapter didn't have one. My contention was not about the price - $50 for a DAC adapter. The point I was trying to make was that you needed an adapter with a DAC..the better the DAC onboard the better your music will sound. It's all personal taste...and if an $8 DAC does the job...good for you!
One day, in the future, phone technology will be so advanced that they will have DAC built in.
use the OEM from samsung ... i did buy a couple with the option to charge at the same time and they didn't work. Saddly you need a one with build-in DAC onto the Type-C to 3.5mm adapter. The cheapest one is the OEM from samsung.... sucks but thats it.
Does anyone else have experience with replacing the USB to audio adaptor with an aftermarket dongle?
My USB to 3.5 mm earphone adaptor no longer works. If I firmly push the little cable into the base of the USB part of the dongle, the phone will very, very momentarily recognise a headphone (I have tried several sets of ear phones).
I just bought this off Amazon, but the phone does not recognise the earphones at all:
Rpanle USB C to 3.5 mm Jack Adapter, USB C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter, DAC Chip, for Samsung Galaxy, Huawei, OnePlus7 etc (Black): Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo
Free delivery and returns on eligible orders. Buy Rpanle USB C to 3.5 mm Jack Adapter, USB C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter, DAC Chip, for Samsung Galaxy, Huawei, OnePlus7 etc (Black) at Amazon UK.

This new dongle does work in a Mi 8 Lite though. Which makes me wonder if there is a difference in the technology.
I have now just ordered this different one from eBay:
USB Type C to 3.5mm headphone Adapter Cable for Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro Lite SE Explorer | eBay
Find many great new & used options and get the best deals for USB Type C to 3.5mm headphone Adapter Cable for Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro Lite SE Explorer at the best online prices at eBay! Free delivery for many products.

I have to use specific in-ear earphones, which is why I have to use 3.5 mm jack
Make sense to anyone?
