3g/wifi question

Hey Guys,
This has probably been posted already, but I cannot seem to find it. Is there anyway to prevent my tilt from trying to access data? I am going to be removing my unlimited data feature and just use wifi. How can I block access to the net when its not on wifi? Again, sorry if this question has already been answered. Thanks in advance for any help.

Well if you never want to access data through AT&T, you can call them up and have them block internet data through cell. This will give you data through WiFi still, but no option to do pay as you use for data through the cellular network. It does ensure that you don't connect randomly and end up with a huge data bill.

Just remove your connections setup from start/settings/connections

Hvae a look at this thread. It talks about the Nodata app which was released on Modaco. The cab is available from the the thread if you dont have an account at Modaco.

Si quieres la mas estable pero que ya no se va a evolucionar es la jp-MIUI.2.3.7.
Pero la mejor y por la que apuesto es la MIUI V4 que si esta evolucionando y que gracias a frankenteyn ,lolation y dhiru es cada día mejor mañana sale por framkestein la 2.6.1 prueba esta para instalarla es como si instalaces GM9

Install HardSPL then flash with rom of taste(panosha is great)
What radio u using?

Hola Sergio. Yo también vivo en Chile y acabo de comprar uno, el que actualicé a la rom 1.93.xxx. ¿Qué operador de Telefonía usas? Yo uso Entel

genial , alfinal alguien de chile. ahora con el radio nuevo te funciona el 3g de entel... yo sabia que no porque entel usa la 1800 y el diamond solo tiene 850 y 900. bueno espero tu respuesta.. mandame un PM y conversamos mas tranquilamente

So yes Hard SPL! Asap!
And then use your poison! ROM.
Currently me running Entel PCS. .05 Radio.
I get Get 3G, but only use Edge for email retrieval cheap!

No actualizes a nada oficial de HTC.
1. Flashea con este programa: LINK
2. Despues baja algun ROM cocinado! Panosha (current OS on my Jewel)
3. Flassh RADIO to .05 Quad band. 3g imovil.entelpcs.cl

mi diamond tiene rom 1.34.831.1 (lo que creo corresponde a la version hong kong en worldwide english) y spl 1.34.00.00.
quisiera actualizar con la rom oficial 1.93.831.1 (tambien creo que corresponde a hk y en wwe), tengo que instalar el hardspl o con el que trae de origen mi diamond es suficiente.
otra pregunta: porque tu no recomiendas una rom oficial?
te agradezco desde ya.

Si quieres velocidad y un Diamond que responde perfectamente te aconsejo un ROM cocinado. Ademas de velocidad tienes mas espacio para programas y los ROMS cocinados ya vienen con los tweaks de velocidad y otros que son nescesarios.
Yo te recomiendo tambien actualizar tu RADIO a 05. ya que consume menos bateria y tiene mejor cobertura. Y las llamdas son mas nitidas.
Recomendaciones:
Usa HARDSPL.
Usa PAnoshas como ROM, es el mejor segun mi opinion.
Vas a notar un drastico cambio despues de instalar un ROM cocindado.

No nescesitas el Hardspl para flashear ROM original. Pero ya que estas actualizando ROMS aprovecha y usa Hardspl para futuras Flasheadas!

mil gracias, quizas entonces actualice a la rom original, tendria que confirmar que no va a haber problemas con el gps que con la rom 1.34.831.1 anda bien con garmin mobile xt.
la otra duda es que en mi diamond aparece la banda 850 con esa rom, a pesar de que en el sitio htc dice que la rom nueva habilita esa banda...
no se si tu me podras aclarar esto.

Update Radio A .05 que es 4 bandas

Hola. Yo seguí los consejos de Sergio (gracias Sergio), y tengo mi Diamond con Panosha y la radio a 0.5. Tengo ahora que comprar el plan de Internet móvil a Entel y veré como anda. Hasta ahora puedo decir que anda más rápido, y la calidad de la llamada es buena.

Tengo dudas con mi configuración y me gustaría sabes si me muedes ayudar. Estas son:
1.- En la configuración de phone (Network type) aparecen GSM y WCDMA. ¿Cuál es la que corresponde a 1900?
2.- Contraté el plan de EntelPCS, pero tengo la sensación de que sólo tengo EDGE. ((Aparece una E en los íconos de comunicación), en la barra de arriba del celular. Lo configuré como APN: imovil.entelpcs.cl ¿está bien? Por un instante me pareció ver una G. ¿Sabes cuales son las opciones?
3.- Tú que tienes más experiencia ¿sabes si es estable la conexión de entel? Te lo pregunto pues no tuve conexión en la tarde y no se si eso es normal o no. Yo estoy ubicado en en centro de santiago.

Hello, this is my first post, sorry for bad English
after searching all over the web, trying to find the solution to change frequency band Samsung Galaxy Ace (GT-S5830L) from 900/2100MHz to 850/1900MHz
accidentally discovered it myself, I also discovered that is not limited by hardware, since the phone supports 4 bands (not all at once)
HOW TO CHANGE THE FREQUENCY BAND​
1) You must flash phone with original ROM eg. 2.3.6
2) Insert the SIM card, which is supposed to have 3G or H
3) When you have the phone with the original ROM, type *#197328640# then menu appears service mode. MAIN MENU
4) Select [6] COMMON, then select option [3] RF SCANNING.
5) For optimum scanning, should be on the outside (must come to the surface) to obtain the best possible signal,
6) When you are outside your home, select [2] RF START SCANNING, then wait about 15 seconds ... then go back and select option [4] RESULT TO SCREEN.
7) Then go back, pressing the menu key and then select back, several times, to get to MAIN MENU, then press the phone menu and select END.
8) You must dial *#2263# enter into preferred band selection, choose the option [2] WCDMA Band Preference, then select, [1] WCDMA 850 [*], should be marked as follows: [*],
(if choosing an option fails 850 [*] and thus leave, restart the phone, try again, or select AUTOMATIC)

después de haber buscado en toda la web, intentando dar con la solución de cambiar la frecuencia de banda de Samsung Galaxy Ace (GT-S5830L), desde 900/2100Mhz hacia 850/1900MHz pude conseguirlo
descubri que no esta limitado por hardware, ya que el teléfono soporta las 4 bandas (no todas a la vez) solo hay que escanear las bandas con el teléfono, para que las cambie.
COMO CAMBIAR LAS FRECUENCIAS DE LAS BANDAS​
1) Debe flashear el telefono con una ROM original ej. 2.3.6
2) Inserte la tarjeta SIM, con la que supuestamente deberia tener 3G o H
3) Cuando ya tenga el telefono con la ROM original, teclee *#197328640# , entonces aparecera el menu de service mode. MAIN MENU
4) Seleccione la opcion [6] COMMON, luego seleccione la opcion [3] RF SCANNING.
5) Para realizar un optimo escaneo, deberá estar en el exterior para obtener la mejor señal posible,
6) Cuando este afuera de su casa, seleccione la opcion [2] START RF SCANNING, luego espere unos 15 segundos... luego regrese, y seleccione la opción [4] RESULT TO SCREEN y seleccione con el menú select y poniendo el numero que corresponda a nuestra frecuencia.
7) Luego regrese presionando la tecla menu y luego elija back, varias veces, hasta llegar a MAIN MENU, luego presione la tecla menu del teléfono y elija END.
8) De nuevo debe marcar *#2263# para entrara en selección de banda preferida, elija la opcion [2] WCDMA Band Preference, luego seleccione, [1] WCDMA 850[*], debería quedar marcado asi: [*], o seleccione 900, según a que país corresponda.
(si no logra elegir la opción 850 [*] y dejarlo de esta manera, reinicie el teléfono, intente de nuevo o elija AUTOMATIC) si logra dejar elegida la opción, debe reiniciar el teléfono, por las dudas

if you do not get 3G signal, you could try this technique, but it is very rare to have to change the frequencies they use only the technical
basically in all phones is in the section RFSCANNING, (Radio Frequencies - SCANNING) in the hidden menu

It doesnt worked for me.. i put the number..shows service mode but it doesnt let me choose any option

Buenas tardes amigo excelente aporte, estoy segura de que ha ayudado a muchas personas. pero tengo un problema no se si podras ayudarme. tengo el samsung galaxy ace gt5830i. y sigo los pasos de tu post en el Main menu entro en Common pero no me aparece RF SCANNING, referente a bandas en common me aparece es Band Selection. entro y escojo WCDMA 1900 que es la frecuencia de movistar y el telefono pierde la señal total y despues de un momento automaticamente vuelve a edge. por favor ayuda, estoy pagando plan de datos y casi no lo uso porque es super lento. muchas gracias de antemano

hola, primero debería averiguar en que frecuencia trabaja la red de su operadora, y luego escoger la frecuencia correcta, saludos

7) Then go back, pressing the menu key and then select back, several times, to get to MAIN MENU, then press the phone menu and select END.
8) You must dial * # 2263 # enter into preferred band selection, choose the option [2] WCDMA Band Preference, then select, [1] WCDMA 850 [*], should be marked as follows: [*],
(if choosing an option fails 850 [*] and thus leave, restart the phone, try again)

Hola, este es mi primer post
despues de haber buscado en toda la web, intentando dar con la solucion de cambiar la frecuencia de banda de Samsung Galaxy Ace (GT-S5830L), desde 900/2100Mhz hacia 850/1900MHz pude conseguirlo
Lo descubri yo mismo accidentalmente, tambien descubri que no esta limitado por hardware, ya que el telefono soporta las 4 bandas (no todas a la vez) solo hay que escanear las bandas con el telefono, para que las cambie. :good:
COMO CAMBIAR LAS FRECUENCIAS DE LAS BANDAS?​
1) Debe flashear el telefono con una ROM original ej. 2.3.6
2) Inserte la tarjeta SIM, con la que supuestamente deberia tener 3G o H
3) Cuando ya tenga el telefono con la ROM original, teclee *#197328640# , entonces aparecera el menu de service mode. MAIN MENU
4) Seleccione la opcion [6] COMMON, luego seleccione la opcion [3] RF SCANNING.
5) Para realizar un optimo escaneo, debera estar en el exterior (debera salir a la superficie) para obtener la mejor señal posible,
6) Cuando este afuera de su casa, seleccione la opcion [2] START RF SCANNING, luego espere unos 15 segundos... luego regrese, y seleccione la opcion [4] RESULT TO SCREEN.
7) Luego regrese presionando la tecla menu y luego elija back, varias veces, hasta llegar a MAIN MENU, luego presione la tecla menu del telefono y elija END.
8) De nuevo debe marcar *#2263# para entrara en seleccion de banda preferida, elija la opcion [2] WCDMA Band Preference, luego seleccione, [1] WCDMA 850[*], deberia quedar marcado asi: [*], o seleccione 900, segun corresponda

at least the service mode menu appears?

Twice i've been able to put the phone in service mode, but in both cases i couldn't select the band, in fact the option of *#2263# did not enter to select anything.
So i rooted my phone again with S7582XXUAMK3.
Any ideas??

I guess if you can not get in the menu *#2263# should be running by jelly bean and does not work

So should be Gingerbread, Kit KAt or Ice Cream Sandwich? (If one of these works, I'll find a compatible version for my phone and try again.)
Please comment on the version that works.

I think I tested gingerbread and it worked, I guess in ice cream sandwich you can try, but not sure. you can try also in jelly bean 4.1.2

Samsung gt-7582 baseband change
My device is a GT-S7582, which has a Broadcom BCM21664, which in turn uses a BCM2093 2G / 3G RF transceiver.
I would like to modify the band 3G phone 900Mhz to 850Mhz, (since the 7582L has it), I tried with ODIN but I could not change the modem.
Any help or suggestions would be very helpful, and better if a solution.

[Q] Sprint Version - Blocked LTE Bands - SIM LOCKED

Hi there friends. It's my first post and i'm kinda disappointed because i bought and HTC ONE M8 sprint version but i didn't read about it before to buy it and, wow, it doesn't work in Colombia, first of all because it's sim locked (ok, i believe i can try to unlock it according XDA Forums but, second problem.. In colombia, carriers use AWS LTE band (band 4) but this ONE version doesn't have this band enabled. I wonder, bands are software locked or, actually, sprint version isn't capable of using AWS bands at all.
If answer is they are software blocked, could i unblock them installing an international rom and to be able to use my phone in here? or, i have to return phone and to ask money refund. Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc., versions have different hardware? Really thank you for your help and sorry for my english.

En colombia, los operadores usan la banda LTE AWS (banda 4) pero esta versión de ONE no tienen habilitada esta banda. Me pregunto, las bandas vienen bloquedas por software o, realmente, la versión SPRINT no es capaz de usar la banda AWS en lo absoluto.
Si la respuesta es que están bloqueadas por software, podría desbloquearlas instalando una rom internacional y así poder usar mi teléfono aquí? o, tengo que regresar el teléfono y pedir el reembolso del dinero. Las versiones Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, tienen hardware diferentes? Realmente agradezco sus respuestas.
