If the device boots and you can download a factory OTA to the device, you should be able to install it like any other ROM in TWRP. Going back to stock will remove TWRP and restore the stock recovery.

I saw your post in the other thread, but it's off topic there, so I'm responding here.
I'm not sure why you want to revert to stock. There is the Pure Nexus ROM which is closer to stock with some nice improvements. The last release was July 2017 ( last stock October 2017).
There's a couple of ways to get stock on the N6 while keeping TWRP without needing a USB port.
One is to do what I described above, and flash the full factory OTA file in TWRP. To save TWRP, you would need to do a backup of the recovery partition, then restore it before leaving TWRP. There's also the issue of encryption, but if your device is decrypted, a no force encrypt zip can be used. What I'm not sure about is, if your device is encrypted, will that affect TWRP on the next reboot. There have been some glitches. One thing I would definitely do is remove all screen locks, boot passwords, nothing but swipe to unlock.
I actually dusted off my N6 and tested this several times today successfully. I could provide you with exact instructions.
The second method is to create a TWRP flashable ROM using the stock system and boot images. What bootloader are you on? What was the last stock version installed? If you're not sure, reboot to the bootloader and grab the information from the screen. The line starting with "BL moto-".
If you are on the final bootloader, then I have a zip that you could use. If your bootloader is older than mine, I can't test a ROM that I make though.

Hello,
I rooted my LT30P with a bat program from this site, then i installed CWM. The problem is that I cannot update my phone through OTA because when I tap restart and update, it enters CWM and shows me an error. I think it's because I need the original recovery. Can I get the original recovery back without reflashing my Rom? I just want the original recovery to update my phone, nothing more.
I dont understand what is your probleme exactly but did you tried to use Flashtool ?

I rooted my phone with bin4ry method. Then, I installed CWM for my Xperia T (found in a thread on xda). Now my phones asks me for update, but I can't update because of CWM. Even if I try, it downloads the update package normally and tells me it will restart and install the new update. When it restarts, it enters CWM and tries to flash the new version. After a seconds, a error pops up saying there is a problem etc.. Before I installed CWM, I could update my phone without flashing it from pc and so on. I saw you told something about flashtool. What is it for, and what can I do with it?
Is your Xperia T Unlocked ? If yes Then Install Team Win Recovery 2.7.0.0 with fastboot and Install a Costum Rom you will have a batter version than the officiel

Why would he need to do that? He can flash custom rom from current recovery, he doesn't unlocked bootloader for that. He needs unlocked bootloader only if wants to flash AOSP based rom (CM, OMNI...).
First of all sorry for my English...
Yesterday I was trying to install vanir room to my p880 after 10 hours I rooted the phone and unlock the bootloader then installed cwm but after reboot I get stuck on logo so I used kdz and load LGP880AT-00-V20a-262-000-MAR-26-2013+0 with (after 4 hours ) then i try using twrp and finally load the room (vanir_p880_4.4.4.112414.zip) and Gapps after rebooting I started getting crashes ( aosp keyboard, com.google, home and back buttons etc didn't work)
so again kdz then i try other room Paranoid but the same thing..
What I'm doing wrong? I used factory reset, wipe etc but same results
what gapps you flashed?
blansh heretics
The ones that are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439739
But I load another rom without gapps and got same errors, wizard stopped, com.Google stopped. And keyboard.

I don't really know what happened, did you successfully flashed kdz?
Where did you get it from? Here?: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=15
Try to flash one of these (choose correct one for you)
Than you have to install recovery again.
But before that you can try to wipe /system, /data, /cache and then flash CM11 (I know it works without problems)
And I recommend you these Gapps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942

I think you should try with CWM first, get it: http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-p880.img
you can flash it with this app if you are rooted: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify
then you can download CM11 from here: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=p880
and gapps from last mine post
and then boot to recovery, do factory reset and wipe /system, then flash rom and gapps.
Hope it helps
Crash After Flash OTA Vanir 5.0
I had a similar experience. I was installing OTA latest update of Vanir...not realising that it was 5.0...a screen came up telling me that it needed to flash another recovery...not realising why it needed that, I ignored the request to flash. Of course, I then "bricked" the phone. I was able to install the original JB 4.12 (v20c) back onto the phone but now it won't root. I've tried almost every method in this forum to no avail.:
ADB just gives a message "error: closing" when I use the boot.exe method
o4xr method does nothing
all-in-one method also does nothing
ADB does recognise the device. Drivers are installed. Any help is welcome!

Have you tried to flash a recovery using fastboot? You won't need to root (if you are going to use a custom ROM) and/or it will be easier with a custom recovery
Soft brick after last update.
Hello,
I seem to have a similar problem. I updated a few days ago using Vanir updater. There were no warnings re updating the recovery, just a warning regarding losing root. I checked restore root. The phone rebooted to the bootloader logo, then to a black screen. Now, I can access Cyanogen recovery, SW update mode, abd fastboot mode using buttons and the recovery options. ADB can see the phone only in recovery mode, but not in fastboot or SW update mode. CM recovery has no option to mount USB storage, so my PC cannot see the phone, and I cannot side load a new recovery and flash a new ROM.
Is there any way to use ADB if it cannot see your phone in fastboot or SW mode? Perhaps modify the settings.secure string to enable ADB? ADB can see the phone in recovery mode.
Otherwise I will try flashing a stock ROM via KDZ or LG firmware update tool, the re-root and proceed - but rooting was a major ordeal the first time, so I would like to avoid doing that again.
Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone, this question was asked already but I just want to make sure that it's safe to flash a 5.1 based ROM over a currently active Marshmallow ROM using TWRP using only the usual wipes? I remember that I had to flash a custom boot image with a PC or something like that in order for the custom recovery to work on my K3 Note, which I received with Marshmallow installed, so I'm not sure if I can hop back to 5.1 if phone never even had it installed. Any advice?

Yes, IT IS SAFE but there are some points to note:
Every Rom Zip contains a boot.img file which is also flashed when the zip is flashed.
You do not need to replace boot.img in order to install TWRP, but you need it to flash SuperSU.zip to your device or install xposed
Remember You need to wipe data partition (No need to wipe Internal) in order to continue.
Thanks for the reply. I don't know why, but I remember when I was installing TWRP I couldn't boot into it until I flashed a new boot image or something like that. All I could boot into was the stock recovery or something like that. I needed to use SP flash tools and flash something in order to get it to work. So it's safe for me to try 5.1 ROMs? They seem to be more stable than custom Marshmallow ROMs....

You must have flashed the recovery.img ( and also the boot.img) because my root methods mention them.
Hello Xperia ZR users,
I had dual recovery i flashed RR M and RR N rom's in a single day. the next day i restored stock rom which i have backup approximately 5.30 gb it took so much time to boot whole 60 percent charging had been gone so i flashed stryflex mm rom for sony look but again i thought to use stock rom so this time i restored stock backup rom through otg pendrive because my external storage got write permissions problem when i installed stryflex! but now also same happened device taking so much time to boot and i thought to flash rr nougat but i wiped everything through dualrecovery and i removed battery as dualrecovery not showing anything in otg pendrive now there is also no recovery available to flash anything!
Xda user Robin guided me to flash stock rom through firmtool but ended with errors in xperia firmtool log file!
So now i am having black blank screen! no recovery unlocked bootloader! i had installed adb drivers through flashtool drivers and also installed other universal adb drivers but pc is not showing my device in adb devices list in command prompt! My device is showing in Device manager as ADB interface! when i connected my phone through fastboot mode !
Please help me!
SOLUTION : If u are using custom roms and want to go back to stock rom 5.1.1 ?! and while flashing are u experiencing blank screen after a successful flash through flashtool or experiencing any errors in flashtool while flashing?! Well there are two methods to flash stock roms! Successfully!!
Method 1 : whatever the custom rom you are in! Just flash the stock 5.1.1 rom in your phone through flashtool but with other pc! Yes other pc, pc with no drivers installed regarding adb! Try out your friends laptop or pc! Don't forget to install flashtool, fastboot and your xperia model drivers through flashtool drivers exe file! which is located in c drive!! Also install adb setup file that install all drivers all over pc! And just flash the stock 5.1.1 rom through flashtool! There are 99.99999% chance that stock rom will be successfully flashed in your phone! If this doesn't work!! It's your bad luck and its definitely pc problem not your phone! Then just follow method 2 to flash the rom!
Method 2 : flash the twrp img through flashtool (use any flashtool version!) by entering into fastboot mode and select flash the kernel option and select the twrp img file in your pc (i mean u have to download the twrp 3.0.3 img and use it ! ) twrp will be successfully installed in ur phone and then flash the stock jellybean 4.1.2 version the download link is available below! it is an ftf file convert the ftf file into zip file and then flash through recovery! that's it u will be booted to stock jb firmware and it will ask to factory reset on first boot press yes option it will take few minutes and then it will be booted to jb rom!! restore drm keys if u have the backup and update the os through xperia companion!! or else flash the 5.1.1 zip through recovery!
Note: only flash the jb rom i tested flashing kitkat it doesn't worked!

Delta solution
I was also stuck with same error, I Banged my head in all forums with all rookie answers.
Why this problem occurs?
Ans: Because the user has installed Marshmallow or Nougat ROM on Lollipop. Even if you try to
come back on Lollipop stock, it won't accept the TA partition and won't go further (Although CM 10/11/12/13/14 or ASOP 10/11/12/13/14 RR-M/N WORKS without ERROR, but I assume user is hungry for STOCK 5.1.1 LOLLIPOP).
So, what's the solution, either you need backup of your TA partition OR - and if you haven't like me. Nothing to worry. You just need Stock JellyBean ROM (THIS IS IMPORTANT).
My solution will 100 percent work (Its Brahmastra ).
Step 1) download https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2384512
Step 2) download flash tool version which is mentioned in the above link , I used 0.9.11. Version 0.9.19.8 is HELL - You will never succeed with this version)
Step3) flash... Even if you encounter error [17] no worries, if no error, still no worries (If you get error after TA partation is done...you are through, if you encounter before TA partition, it is worrisome)
Step 4) fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx69
Step 5) fastboot flash boot boot. Img (twrp or PhilZ recovery) or STEP 8)
Step 5) download customized 5.1.1 by chippa
Step 6) goto TWRP (Recovery) and install customized , NO CMW recovery
Step 7) beer for me, go to STEP 10
Step 8) use flash tool to install C5502_10.7.A.0.222_1273-5765_R1E
Step 9) It boots after 3 sec
step 10) go to step 7 (beer loop mode)
If you go to SONY service centre, those M*F* will say, your screen is damaged, because once you push power button, it vibrates and goes to blank screen.
OR
You have locked your bootloader and you simply need to unlock the bootloader in ( STEP 4 ) and you will start with normal BOOT procedure.
How to unlock the bootloader?
Ans: http://www.cyanogenmods.org/forums/topic/unlock-bootloader-android-phone-using-fastboot/
OR
Relock bootloader (boot), then unlock bootloader (boot the device)
Cheers,
Dr. Lamda
Ok man thanks for your help! I am really surprised that someone gave me the solution! Well, i think i repaired my device! I don't know exactly what i did was correct or wrong few days before i installed a universal adb driver that repaired the driver in pc although there was an existing adb driver! And then i installed an old adb setup because i found that new adb not works sometime! And then through flashtool ver 0.9.23. something , i flashed the twrp 3.0.3 img by fastboot mode it installed successfully! And then i just flashed a rr nougat rom through recovery. I seen so many errors while wiping and flashing rom and gapps! But phone rebooted successfully! After that i see that selinux is set to enforcing rr nougat rom and i can't go to recovery mode so i same flashed twrp img through flashtool but it only rebooting to twrp i pulled off battery and booted again it was successfully booted to ROM!
Hey! Can i flash customised 5.1.1 through recovery ?! as now i am in nougat !

Yes! you can go back to 5.1.1 by the above procudure
If you want to revert back from RR - N to stock firmware then use flashtool-0.9.18.4 and first flash stock 4.4.4 firmware/ boot then flash stock 5.1.1 firmware.

so i can flash the customised 5.1.1 rom by chippa through twrp recovery, right?
moly.maji , i love u brooooooo with your help what i did was i downloaded a jelly bean 4.1.2 rom and flashed through twrp 3.0.3 recovery by converting the ftf file to zip file (thanks to my other bro xda member robin for telling the info about prf creator pc software tool that converts ftf to zip) and it was successfully booted to jellybean stock rom !
and i am saying to whoever facing to flash the stock rom after updating the device to custom roms to prevent any errors to return to stock 5.1.1 firmware while flashing through flashtool it may be driver related errors in pc or any error just use the flashtool for flashing the twrp img! only by going to fastboot mode and then select flash the kernel option through that select the twrp img that's it within seconds the twrp will be installed in your phone and through twrp recovery flash the jellybean 4.1.2 rom ! i tested flashing kitkat but failed! so flash only jellybean rom!! that's it your phone will boot to jb rom and then if u have backup of drm keys restore and update the os through xperia companion or flash the 5.1.1 rom through recovery that's it !!
my device cant be detected and refused to go into fastboot or Recovery mode
is there any way?

Unlocking bootloader always erases Data Partition. First check that yours one is unlocked or not, not most devices are come locked. Unlocking will take time as Xiaomi gives you permission to unlock by their own software.
Make a backup, get all your data off then root it. I'm not entirely sure if you can unlock without erasing, but you should never be in a position where you can't afford to reinstall your applications.
This is why it is always best to get twrp on your phone asap so you can back up it.
No, unlocking bootloader doesn't wipes data but you must backup everything just in case anything goes wrong.
it is always recommended to backup everything when flashing ROM, kernel, mod, zip, flashing rom via fastboot method and recovery. in short you should backup everything in all this cases.

Yes i have flashed recovery and roms i always do backup important thing and i take screenshot of installed apps before making any changes and save them to pc or to cloud storage.
there was issue i had was when i flashed TWRP 3.2.1.0 via adb i do not why but it asked me for password i didn't know to password so i had to wipe everything including internal storage and data.
latest twrp is must which is TWRP 3.2.1.0 in order to flash Oreo based ROM.
i was using TWRP 3.0.2-0 before and i had no issue with this recovery i has flashed several nougat roms on this recovery even have upgraded and downgraded from miui9 to miui 8 everything worked perfectly.
i don't know why but i wasn't able to flash any marshmallow based or nougat based roms on TWRP 3.2.1.0 recovery.
yes i did lose data when upgrading from TWRP 3.0.2-0 to TWRP 3.2.1.0 but i had done backup so no issues.
i would highly recommend you to do backup if you are making any changes in your device.

Thanks bro
you need to install stock rom after unlocking
Unlocking Xiaomi Redmi4x santoni bootloader doesn't delete the data partition, but after unlocking the bootloader your phone won't boot, you need to install the same stock rom it was on phone previously.
Download MIUI Stock ROMs (if you didn't make OTA update from MIUI, check Older versions and download the correct ROM)
You can copy the ROM image to phone before unlocking or if you have already unlocked and stuck in boot, you can copy the ROM to an USB flash drive.
You need ADB installed on your PC.
Download the TWRP for Xiaomi Redmi 4X image.
If you want to restore the existing state of your phone, you need to make a backup of the data partition.
Press Volume Down + Power until phone gets in FASTBOOT.
Connect phone to PC with USB cable.
From PC command prompt type the command: fastboot.exe boot twrp-3.2.1-0-santoni.img
TWRP will start on your phone, you can backup all of the partitions, but you need only the data partition to restore.
Now Install the stock rom (you can select USB OTG if ROM is on USB drive), then RESTORE the backed up DATA partition only.
