Not really expecting a TON of help on this, but any help would be great!
Anyways, ive been searching around for various /system/prop.build edits.
ive found a few edits i liked off various roms and other things... like for the camera, resolution, density, VM-heap size, dalvik boost, ect... but nothing that REALLY stands out. 90% of all the edits i found were downloaded mods, and i want to manually edit lines myself, not totally replace all my work ive done.
So i guess what im asking for is if anyone knows any good edits to put in, or somewhere i can find more mods/edits i can do. Like a list of mods or things that will boost anything in my system.
Ill update this later tonight/tomorrow with my current build.prop, so that you can see what i already have... then maybe you can make some suggestions from there.

To make the phone ring faster when dialing out, I changed
ro.telephony.call_ring.delay=3000
to
ro.telephony.call_ring.delay=1000
Now the phone rings pretty much instantly when dialing out.
To enable better scrolling speed through lists, I changed
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=55
to
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=60
Scrolling through the app drawer and contacts and any lists really is now smoother
Now, to save battery by decreasing the amount of time Wifi looks for an access point, I changed
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval = 60
to
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval = 90
Now wifi will scan once every 1.5 minutes when not around a known location instead of once every minute which will save battery.
I also changed the Dalvik VM heap size from
dalvik.vm.heapsize=30m
to
dalvik.vm.heapsize=32m

And what did you use to edit and apply these values?
I downloaded a fix patch for language pack that had build prop in it (see dexters miui post) and edited it with a txt editor and saved it back to the language pack update and applied it with open recovery update

I dont have the windowsmgr i used the "customize build.prop" in the GOT recovery.. Also my ROM comes with a pre-set prop file. As for the dalvik-heap i set mine to 40.

Can i use the console in Androidiani OR 3.3 while in Recovery Mode. In OR there's a console menu there. If i just edit those values directly (of course backing up first) then rebooting will these changes apply? Or do i need to do anything beforehand?

I noticed that some of those entries are repeated multiple times in those tweeks.
it would be wise to back up your build.prop file before adding any of these, and also prudent to go through each one and cherry pick which mods you want to try.
Also, if you are running a custom ROM, chances are you already have some of these tweeks, and probably some different ones that may conflict with these, so don't just copy/paste all of them at once

Has anyone run Antutu benchmark on this device? I would love to see the score and breakdown of GPU, CPU, memory scores, etc. I have considered getting the Android One version, but would like to know how the Snapdragon 630 performs.
Yeah, I'm wondering the same. It seems on paper that it will be much more powerful than the 5X, but I'd like to put some numbers to it. Hopefully we get some reviews in before the Oct 5th pre-order window

Thanks. Pretty much what I expected to see in Antutu. Almost identical to the Snapdragon 808 but with a slightly weaker GPU (Adreno 508).

UI is really smooth, it's really pleasant to have a "quite" stock interface.

My 5x crapped out on me today, and neither Google nor Lg will replace it, so I'm looking for a new Fi phone. I'm very interested in this device, as I don't want to spend a fortune on a Pixel, nor do I want to buy a 2 year old 5x or 6p. This is probably my first phone of choice, but I want to know how well it runs.
The CPU looks to be about the same, little better in some, little worse in others. GPU looks to be about the same, maybe a little better. You said the screen looks good, which I'm happy to hear! The remaining two things are camera quality, and battery life? I know it's got 2 cameras, but that don't tell us anything. Also, the 3,000mAh battery looks decent, but I hope the battery life is decent. Anything greater than 4 hours of SOT would be great.

The battery life is good, I managed to have 4h30-5h SOT with a lot of Chrome, WhatsApp, Messenger, Snapchat and so on (compare to the Honor 8 with which it was hard to have >3h SOT). I forgot to made some screenshot before charging it but here are some for 50%.
That's great, thank you! 5 hours SOT would be very nice. I used to barely hit 4 hours with my 5X, and that was when the battery was good! Now I can barely get 3 hours.
The camera looks to be similar to the 5x, 12 MP and f/2.0, so as long as it's not any worse, I'd be happy!
Speaking of, how good is the camera on this Moto X4 (photo and video)? I'm really considering one since I plan to switch to Project Fi, and the camera will likely be the deciding factor of whether I buy one of these or whether I shell out $250 more for a Pixel 2...

This is the biggest unknown for me as well. There's not much different in the specs between all the cameras, but the DSP/ISP are be different.
Pixel 2:
12.2 MP
f/1.8
1.4um pixel size
Spectra 180 (Hexagon 682) DSP
Moto X4:
12.0 MP
f/2.0
1.4um pixel size
Spectra 160 (Hexagon 642) DSP
From what I can tell, the biggest difference between the Spectra 180 and 160 is a higher image count (32MP vs 24MP (or dual 16MP vs dual 12MP)), and support for HVX, which may or may not speed up the camera processing. I'm not quite sure, so someone more knowledgeable than me will probably know more. The Pixel may be able to support faster image processing, which is what enables them to collect 10 images at once for better HDR+, but I'm not sure how much of their software will trickle down to the X4.
Either way, I don't expect it to take BAD pictures; I'm just not sure how great they will be.
