I need Help to update my device with a custom rom. - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello folks, i'm currently looking for someone to give me a step by step guide (since i don't have much experience) on how to update my xperia sp with a custom rom, i'm mostly interested in one that improves performance (if possible) and overall app compatibility for use as a daily driver given that as of now i have it on 4.3 stock version and is very sluggish :crying: and can even take up to six seconds to just go back to home screen and it really frustrates me, so if one you could help me out i will be very thankfull! My model number is c5302, baseband version: 8960A-AAAAATAZQ-40031007-20 and the compilation number is 12.1.A.1.205, I woud have updated it by my own but i'm scared of flashing the wrong rom for my device and bricking it

[Q] Wich software is the most stable for Galaxy S i9000

Hi everyone,as you can see in the title i have a simple question for all of you .
Wich software is the most stable for Galaxy S i9000 ( No lag,no random restarts when you're running a app and stuff like this )
If someone know and its simple to put the software its free to give me a tutorial how to do this . My curent version of android is 2.3.6 Baseband Version i9000XXJVT, Kernel Version 2.6.35.7-i9000XWJVZ-CL762604,Build Number GINGERBREAD.XWJVZ.
IM noob on rooting flashing so...help me if u can
I'd suggest Darkyrom.com, it's a VERY noob friendly rom, stable, fast, great battery life and it has it's own forum so you'll definitely get support for problems. and flashing their roms is a simple one step process (for the base roms) or a few steps for a full rom (read on their forum for the differences) and as long as you follow their step by step instructions (which they provide) you needn't do any preparation work like be pre-rooted, their rom roots your phone and does everything for you.
Rooting is necessary for pretty much all android customization if you were wondering
If you want to upgrade from a better rom after that, you're all set to go what with having flashed their rom, but they have great roms so you may not even want to.
If you want to upgrade to a better rom, one which is faster, or has better battery life or can do something else better, then you'll have to look through threads here on XDA and figure out which is best for you yourself. But reading details on the rom and other people's experiences can really help. Just take other people's experiences with a pinch of salt, unless a problem is being experienced by almost EVERYONE it's usually a one off... other people's problems may not be yours
Agree on darky if you wanna get GB ROM

Total newb here - help with installing CM11 on stock phone please

I have a RAZR i which is running the stock UK 4.1.2 firmware, and I'm tired of the long pauses and lags when switching between certain apps (i.e. Chrome browser) and returning back to the home screen. I was going to hold off and wait for the official OTA 4.4 upgrade to see if it would improve, but I'm running out of patience with Motorola.
So I figured it might be a good idea to try a custom ROM, but I have a couple of questions:
a) Can anyone suggest a good all-round custom ROM? On previous phones I've often used CM - is the Razr i CM11 build a good every-day ROM?
Is there a complete start-to-finish guide for installing custom ROMs? I've looked in some of the help threads but I'm still quite confused.
Thanks in advance, guys!

Rooted my Z1s (c6916). Now what? (Performance help)

I've grown to loathe the lollipop update that T-Mobile put out for the z1s. The memory leak issue present has been rather crippling and frankly I'm over it. A while back I rooted thinking I would be on my way to a custom ROM to solve my issues but boy was I wrong. Locked bootloader piece of sheeeet. Anyways, I'd like to stick with my z1s a little longer and wait out all the upcoming flaghips to see what's next. Is there anything I can do now that I have root to improve performance and/of fix the memory leak issue?
What about going back to 4.4? Is that possible now that the baseband updated with the lollipop update and if so how? Assuming working with the current lollipop build on the phone will get me nowere.
Thanks in advance everybody.
Thinking of even flashing back to 4.3 considering I forgot about 4.4s SD card functionality limits...
Unless I can somehow get a factory 5.1.1 image to from lime a different z1 to fully flash into the z1S......
I5.0.2? But why? Flash stock 5.1.1 root it debloat it greenify should help also. If u want stock based rom i recomend flashing MX Rom v8 but imo v 7.8 was better in terms of battery life. Its already slimed down but I debloated it even more running debloatin
g script witch can be found here on XDA. Hopefully this will help you. Good luck
EDIT: I was thinking you have issues with Z1 not Z1s sorry i can't help you with that one

Stealthy 4.4 ROM?

Hey there!
I own a Sony Xperia SP model C3506, updated to the latest stock version possible (4.3 Jelly Bean). Now, there are a few apps and a very specific one available only to users on 4.4+ (I think someone will probably know exactly which one I mean), and I would absolutely love to install a ROM to my phone to update it and be capable of running this application, but unfortunately for me, it's technically not considered my own phone, as my father claims he only "lent it to me" (for over a year now). He is no idiot, and is the kind of person to notice any little out-of-place characteristics like the battery meter being horizontal instead of vertical, or the colors are different or this or that, so I ask to you all; is there a way install a 4.4 ROM that is so perfectly the same as the stock 4.3 that even my father with a degree in computer science won't see the difference?
I was looking at http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-sp/development/rom-z3-experiencesp-t3039228 , but the big problem is that with that, going into the "About Phone" menu will show the version to be 4.4 and also show the mod version, which, while necessary for most, is not so good for me.
NOTE: If there's a way to edit things in the ROM I linked above to make it look like and claim to be 4.3, then please, tell me how! I'll do it myself if necessary.
Bump.
Just install a stock rom but tell him you added a launcher to it. If ever the phone needs some fixing backup using the recovery and flash the stock rom
Try multirom with stock 4.3 and cm13
And use the stock rom while you're near him

To root or not to root

Hi! First time posting here so do forgive me if I make any mistakes.
I've been thinking if I should root my P9 or just do a full reset as it seems to be lagging ALOT nowadays and I have warranty untill end of 2018.
I've rooted my older phones before but I'm not sure whether I should for this so do advice me thanks!
Oh and I was also wondering if it affects the camera and battery life after rooting or using a custom rom?
Model : EVA-L19
Build Number : EVA-L19C20B386
EMUI Version : 5.0
Android Version : 7.0
Custom roms are complete trash for this phone. So many bugs and half baked stuff. If you care about camera, battery - never put a custom rom. Root why? What do you want to do? I don't see a point of rooting nowadays.
Just hard reset it if it's lagging. Will make it like new. And it's that simple.
Clear the cache regularly AND setting animation scale to 0.5 are 2 things that can easily be done to help eliminate lag and poor performance.
