Google Sans Text Beta
In Google Design’s Best of 2019 page, Google used a new font called "Google Sans Text" (which is in beta as per the font name).
The page and the look of the font can be viewed here.
I really liked the leaner look of the font on my OnePlus 6 as compared to Google Sans and would like to share it with the community.
Currently there are only the Regular, Bold, Italic, Medium, BoldItalic and MediumItalic versions of the font and I could not find other variants.
I have made the basic correction of fixing the colon on lockscreen clock (Char U+EE01).
Two Options for attached files below:
Replace Full body fonts - MAGISK Google Sans Text Beta font.zip
Replace Headline fonts only - MAGISK Google Sans Text Beta Headline only.zip
Please remove other font modules, if installed, first before installing mine.
I have only tested and used English language on OnePlus 6 and found the font to be satisfactory for daily use.
Big thanks to @nongthaihoang for improving the font! Do check out his thread for multiple combinations and variations of the font along with the original Google Sans.
Can you make it so that only the headline font is replaced?

You sounds like a Vietnamese. I like that.
What do you think of helping me maintain the font?
I'll teach you everything I know so you can took over me. I'm looking for someone like that.
Btw, I like to have GS + GS text on my phone. It can't be better.

I love Vietnam! It's a beautiful country.
Your offer is very tempting and I would love to learn and help out more but currently I am going through a very busy phase at work. May I reach out to you after March, if you are still looking for an intern then?
I really like GS as well. Used it for the longest time on my phone. Lato is my favorite on PC. But I also like the curvier and lighter look of GS Text. Makes text more readable for me, while keeping the spirit of GS. It's a subjective thing, that's why there are millions of fonts and that's the beauty of customization.

- Thank you for you kind words about Vietnam.
- I took it as a Yes. Contact me whenever you have time my telegram.
- I'm using Ubuntu Linux and Lato is my favorite font too. What a coincidence!
I like GS for headline and your GSText for content. Can you send me your font (the untouched one) so I can make it fully compatible with android? I'll send it back to you when it's done.

Have you selected the default font before installing the mod? Did you install any other font mods or maybe themes before installing mine that have not been removed? The clock font does not seem to have changed at all, judging by the digit for 2. Can you test with the attached file and let me know please? Thanks.

Nah. There is no need for a separate zip. Everything will be fine with the new update.
You should also remove what so-called "colon issue" in the OP. It does not even exist.
The font should work from the day you install it until your phone die.
Yes, new 0.2 works without errors I think. Colon on lockscreen ok. Thanks!
is it possible to download it in .ttf or .otf format ?

Exactly what I was looking for.
I have tried Fairy Dust, Magic School and Nosferatu but none of them works with non English characters (i.e: ț ă ș).
I was suprised to find that these work on my HD2 running Froyo
I tried Worstfeld, Contrary Mary, Alex, and settled on Nosferatu...Thanks a lot
I really would like this rounded font that I see in a lot of the "post your homescreen" posts. (please see attachment)
if this is running on 2.2 milestone?
make the font bigger
Many thanks
I’m using “Sony Sketch” and it looks great. However little too small so how do I make the font size bigger?
Tried “spares parts” but doesn’t work and app called “Font Size” from the market is not free, so there any FREE APP that allows you to change Font Size or is there a way to do this with ADB?
if I actually want a smaller font.
and it can be used in all applications. eg its Home screen or browser.

Just to let you know
Hi Love your thread
Have been mucking about with fonts all day.
What it doesn't mention in the thread is that you can goto any free font web site and download ANY .ttf file (as a zip, then extract and drop into the .fontchanger folder)
this means that the font choice is endless!!!! oh and be seriously cool.
Hope you don't mind, had to share the good news with my fellow streakies on the Dell Streak forum.
Thanks for the post has made my weekend (I know sad lol !)
Is there any good way to install alternate fonts? I'm looking to change fonts for home screen labels and in other apps.
Running FR006 on a rooted Aria.
I read an article on androidpolice.com today talking about this. Haven't tried it yet tho!

It has 148 different fonts. Just flash it like how you're flashing a rom through clockwork. I've been fooling around with it this evening and it works well. Though some fonts are a bit small due to our resolution I suppose. I do like the Ubuntu and Sony fonts. Right now I'm using the Neotech.
I have some pics on my blog for the Ubuntu and Neotech fonts: http://droidappsreview.blogspot.com/2010/11/so-i-was-bored-today.html
Btw. The font flashing changes ALL the fonts in the phone. I don't think you can do different fonts for different parts or maybe you can? lol..idk ><

I am working on a new iconset so I wanted to post a preview.
If you guys like It I'll work on it.
Its look nice work on it ! (btw make pls 90x90 version .)
I like it! Only thing is I'm wondering if the icon will stand up when scaled down. Not a lot of people will use it in this particular size and I doubt if the white character itself will still be as nice as it is right now.
Maybe a somewhat more bold character will be more readable in a smaller scale. But the look itself I quite like for sure!
Here is a version with a different font
Looking forward to seeing more.
hope can have all set soon

Woah nice job! I would totally use this, although lately I've been running without the superclock, due to the fact that there's already a clock on the lock screen and the top right corner. But wow, you don't see alot of skins of this quality within the BW app! Nice!
One thing I've been looking for is a superclock skin with the same font as the D3 lock screen. My fave font! Modern and simple.

It pretty much depends on what you are doing, this took me about 3 hours because of the level of detail involved, I took the system dump, extracted the apk files until i found the .9.png that was used for the widget backgrounds, and i copied every single line and gradient down the pixel, so that takes a while. But many of my others where fairly simple. It also depends on your level of skill with Photoshop and you knowledge of the tools, I've been using Photoshop for many years, so I'm very familiar with it.
Plus loading it on the phone every time you make a small change can be a little annoying at times...

Hi,
I have made an MIUI Theme Editor - a PC based tool that allows the user to make, edit and save themes for MIUI!
Its been in BETA for a while, thus the thread already being a bit long, and I believe it is finally stable enough to release publicly. So I have!
I have released the program, and it is available at http://www.miuithe.me/. I still, however, ask you to please send me as many suggestions as you can think of! All suggestions will be taken on board! Suggestions can be made through the Issues and Suggestions page of the above website.
Please note this is a PC application - not an android app... Sorry, but I'm just not that good with java!

I think I kind of understand, but I'm sorry to say that I don't plan to add that functionality to the program any time soon as I don't believe that it is an issue for enough people. If there are more people with that issue, then I may look into it.

Great idea! I think xml editing will not really be "user-friendly", but it's only my opinion!
Ummmmm you're awesome. I've been waiting for an easy-to-use tool for so long. You're my hero.
Will this tool be used in CMD or is it an actual program with a UI and everything?
I'd also like to see conversion to MDPI in here. We have MIUI Gingerbread and MIUI V4 for my MDPI Optimus V now, so that would be very handy to have. I have conversion values (i.e. MDPI to HDPI ratios) if you need them.

I'm not so sure about converting MDPI to HDPI etc - I'm a bit unclear as to what actually needs to be done? Also, theres a possibility that the tool wont work with V4 themes, as I don't use one, so I would prefer to get it all good for GB before adding V4 stuff.

Unfortunately this means that the user won't be able to edit any colours in the themes though. I plan to add an edit button (which just opens the file) for the time being, as implementing individual text boxes for each value in each .xml would take too long.
Thanks
Wow, this is brilliant. Kudos for working on this project!
Would this work only for HDPI? For example, if I imported a MDPI LS and whatnot, would it work well on my phone?
(Like someone stated above, I too am using an Optimus V)

I don't see why it wouldn't work on MDPI at the moment - I havent added the ability to work on any images other than icons yet. Once I have it good enough to release for beta, I'll get you to check if it works for you and give me feedback!
