This solution works, but you cannot choose other codecs. Only aptx HD works on my phone

I have 2 problems with bluetooth with this enabled or disabled.
when the ticker is off, I have audio with my bluetooth headset but after using it, I have no audio whatsoever coming from the phone speaker no matter the source (play music, youtube even alarms and ringtones)
if that ticker is on, I have audio from the phone speaker but the bluetooth headset don't.

This worked for me... I knew it was because of the update.... Thanks very much

Go into settings, about phone and to there you have diagnostics. Test speakers, headphones, microphone and earphone. If neither works it sounds like HW.

Select Audio output through tasker

Hi,
In Android Oreo you can now select your desired audio output when connected to bluetooth
See this screenshot to see which option exactly:

(because i'm a new user this link is not showing correctly, here it is chopped up: https:// imgur.com /gallery /9xcWm )
(Concrete use case: play my Waze sound through phone speakers while listening to car FM radio and not using car media channel)
Is there any way to select this option throug Tasker?
Hi murnworb, did you finally figure this out?
I have the same question and havent been able to get an answer so far.
Thanks

Hi! Didn't find out through tasker but there's a setting in android Bluetooth settings that lets you choose per BT device what to play on it and what not:

Xiaomi enabled aptX!!!!

So I installed the October build, and later listened some music with my Sennheiser CX6.00BT. Instantly I noticed that the quality over Bluetooth was better, and I checked the developer settings, and this was the surprise!!!!!
I really believed that Xiaomi won't implement it, but finally yes <3
(And that's real because if you change between SBC and aptX,
music stops like for 2 seconds and the differences are noticeable)

That's Great
I am running the second October update on my Mi A2.
I can confirm that aptX HD is now working with my Blitzwolf BW-BR4.
Unfortunately, LDAC is still not working with my Sony MDR-1000X.
I am with the October update and... When I change to aptx HD... After I exit the menu.. He return to default drivers... Do you have the same problem?

No, when I connect to my BW-BR4 aptx HD is selected automatically and it doesn't switch to standard aptX unless I manually select it. What Bluetooth device are you connecting to? Does it definitely support aptX HD?

Volume issue??

Hey lads, since the most recent update I'm having this annoying issue.
I'll go to turn my volume up and I get my ringtone / media volume. I just want to turn the volume of all my media/ alarms ect up without any audio feedback.
Before the update I could turn my volume up and alarm volume up and wouldn't wake up the person beside me.
Any ideas of how to fix / suppress this?
Just seen this option which I think is new.
Maybe it can help.

Detect which audio output is selected?

Is there a way detect which audio output is selected (i.e. speaker or bt headphones)? I'm trying make audio notification through speaker ONLY when bt headphones are connected and audio is routed to it.
I found a partial solution here it works well, until audio output is selected for speker, while bt headphones still connected: I get double notification
Any tips?
Thank you.
Using Samsung S10+ with Android 9
Unless an app broadcasts the information of what stream it's using, it's not something Tasker will be able to identify, certainly not before the notification has already fired.
The idea of the profile you linked is that notifications that would sound over BT only because the headset is connected, are given an additional notification over the speaker.
I'm guessing that you have an app selected in the notification listener plugin that (also) sends it's notification through a different stream that plays on the speaker, even though the BT is connected.
If that's the problem, just deselect that app from the notification listener context.
If it's more complex than that, please provide specifics and we'll see if that's a solution.
It's somewhat system setting (SmartThings is built-in app?)

I'm not a Samsung person, but a little searching teaches me that SmartThings is Samsung's home automation offering. Maybe there is a suitable plugin or something out there that will help you. An older post in the Samsung community forums, but a Tasker plugin was being discussed.
