JTAG is the only way to disable the write protection. You could just replace the motherboard, but if the replacement has a Samsung eMMC too then that's a problem because your Lumia will eventually die again.
Try to flash efiesp.bin partition from an windows mobile 10 device. I semiunbricked lumia 530 using lumia 830 custom ROM partition. Semiumbricked mean i cant update OS, is stuck on wp8.1

I have T-mobile Nokia Lumia 521(RM-917) and I want to use W-CDMA 900/2100MHz.
Lumia 520(RM-914) supports it, so I tried flashing GLOBAL SWAP rom (059S0P5) with Nokia Care Suite, but I got this error:

Is it possible to flash Lumia 520 rom to Lumia 521?
Short answer: No.
Long answer: No, you can't replace the physical radios present in a given model of phone by reflashing the firmware; where'd you get an idea like that?
Be glad those signature checks are present; people who've managed to override them in the past have managed to brick their phones, or at least leave them in a crippled state.

I have Lumia 630 (RM-976) and it doesnt support 4G. If I flash Lumia 635 (RM-974) rom to my phone what would happen? Has anyone tried something like this? Can I get 4G support?
You won't be able to, either the FFU signature checks or the platform ID check will fail.

FFU flashing doesn't use the registry, it uses the platform ID which is related to files in the PLAT partition. (contains ACPI tables and other configs)
FYI, a friend of mine ****ed about with PLAT partition and hard bricked his lumia. So it would be a good idea if you did not mess about with PLAT partition at all.
Hello,
I unbranded my Lumia 640 using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/windows-phone-8/general/brand-att-lumia-640-lte-t3294971 and am wondering if it was possible to "re-brand" the device. When trying to flash the FFU of the AT&T ROM, the Platform ID doesn't have the _ATT at the end so it won't flash. Can I "re-brand" the device or is it stuck like this?
Thank you.
Hello,
One of my friends recently found a old Nokia Lumia 635 T-Mobile Carrier locked phone. OS version is 8.10.12400.899. We are unable to login to microsoft account and also unable to update to latest 8.1 or to windows 10. Can anybody suggest how to use this ?
Hi,
I have some problems with unlocking the bootloader in a nokia lumia 520 (carrier locked with wind, italian).
i followed a tutorial on xda developers, but it says:
The FFU-image you selected does not have a supported OS-version. Windows Phone Internals needs to extract files from a supported OS-version. You need to select such donor-FFU. If necessary, you can select an FFU-image for a different model.
could i please know how to fix this??
