[This bug was found fixed on MIUI(8) dev (beta) v6.9.29]​Hello everyone! I am back with an exclusive tutorial to get the MTP/PTP USB mode back to ON.
Devices Supported:
All Redmi device (This method was tested on Redmi 2 that is why i am posting it here)
All Note device
All Mi device
Note: This method was tested on the Redmi 2 1GB variant and should work with almost every Xiaomi Device.
MIUI version supported:
7.x
8.x
Dev - 6.x
Have you ever turned the MTP mode off by mistake? Well, Now I have a solution which doesn't even require any third party software to be installed on your Xiaomi MIUI Device.
Connect the device to a Laptop or PC.
Then head to "Settings" in phone.
Go to "About phone".
Tap "MIUI Version" 7 times. (It will enable the developer options if you haven't already)
Then go back to settings menu (or hit settings icon again from the notification shade).
Now head to "Additional settings".
Then tap "Developers Option".
Now Turn the USB Debugging ON.
You will be prompt to confirm your choice. Tap OK to confirm.
The moment you tap OK, the pop up for USB connection will Pop up.
Tap on it (or the notification from notification shade).
And then tap to turn ON the MTP mode and Exit.
You may go to Developers options again and turn off the USB debugging if you want or even turn OFF the developers option.
I have attached some screenshots in order to help you perform the steps better.

Tutorial: Auto-hide navbar (no root needed)

I was looking for a way to auto hide the navbar without rooting the phone and I found this app:

If you grant the app permission with adb shell, it can hide the navbar in the apps you choose.
Maybe this is useful for some.

Emui already has a hide feature built into it. I use this everyday.??

No nav bar

Without using 3rd party app you can do this directly from EMUI settings:
Settings > Smart assistance > System navigation > Navigation bar > Switch on Navigation bar.

I'm afraid that it doesn't auto hides it and you still have to click on the small arrow to hide it manually.

At least with the app that I linked, it auto hides the nav bar and that is what I wanted because I didn't want to always press a button to hide the navbar.

You got that right :good:

I wish they would add this feature to the status bar.

If you mean the notification bar...then use Nova Prime and you can hide it and swipe down to show it. :victory:

Is there any way to have expanded desktop (hiding the notification bar) without changing launcher?

In my case, mate 10 normal, I use the FPS as navigation (home, back, recent) so I hide nav buttons and notification bar in all apps except home (where I can see notifications, battery and time) using this adb shell command (root is not necessary):
Hide navigation/notification bar on all apps but home launcher
settings put global policy_control immersive.full=apps,-com.huawei.android.launcher
Return to default behavior:
settings put global policy_control null*

Sorry for being such a newb but how do I run that command?
I downloaded an app from the play store and executed it the way I thought would work but nothing happened.

Probably you downloaded and used terminal emulator.
These commands doesn't work on terminal unless you are root.
So, to use adb shell command you need:
Download and install Minimal ADB and Fastboot - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
Enable developer options on your mate 10 (go to "Settings > System > About phone" and touch a few times over "Build Number").
Under the now visible developer options (go to "Settings > System > Developer options") you should enable USB debugging.
Open a windows command prompt and navigate to the directory where you have installed Minimal ADB and Fastboot, you should see adb.exe within this directory.
If so, type "adb devices" on your windows command prompt and hit enter.
It'll start adb daemon and no devices will be listed under "List of devices attached".
Now connect your USB cable to PC and to your Mate 10 (it is recommend to have Huawei hisuite installed to have the proper drivers).
If your pc identified your device correctly, a prompt will appear on your mate 10 asking you to allow the USB debugging connection. Hit Allow.
Now, type again "adb devices" on your windows command prompt and hit enter.
An ID should appear under "List of devices attached". If not, you should double check driver and confirm that "USB debugging" is ON in Developer options and reconnect USB cable on Mate 10.
If you see the ID, now type "adb shell" on prompt and hit Enter. You should see a prompt with a $ sign on your windows command prompt.
There you can type the commands from previous post.

Yes, "DOT" works normal.
FPS = FingerPrint Scanner, in case of mate 10 normal, I use the front FPS the same way as the "DOT".

Sorry, I mean can I have the DOT on the screen all the time (Stock behaviour) instead of having to swipe down from the top ?
I want to disable the nav and status bar due to screen burn on every device I've ever owned.

I test here and DOT stays fixed even with hidden nav and status bar.
Screen burn? Do you have the Normal or the Pro version?
Mate 10 Pro is OLED and can suffer from screen burn.
Mate 10 non PRO is LCD and is safe from screen burn.

Because an app is obscuring a permission request... when trying to USB Debug Website

I have an unrooted/unchanged/stock Huawei P10 running EMUI 5.1 and am trying to debug a website I'm making. Latest Chrome on the P10 and latest Chrome on my Retina MacBook Pro 15'' (late 2013) High Sierra 10.13
The route worked on all my previous devices. USB Debugging is checked on, I plug in the cable and say yes to the prompt "Allow Access to device data?". Next prompt "Allow USB Debugging" -> OK gives me the following error: "An App is obscuring a permission request. Settings can't verify your response"
Looking for solutions I read stuff about background apps which mess up things. All I know of / remember installing is "Mi Band Tools", and "Pie Controls".
I tried to shut down "Mi Band Tools" via Settings -> Apps -> Mi Band Tools -> "Stop" – But it seems not to be stopped for long? Since I don't know if this would solve the problem anways, I figured to come here first. It would be great if I wouldn't have to uninstall these apps.. always a pain to restore etc.

I had the same problem with my Huawei Honor View10.
I had to uncheck the "Permit drawing over other apps" for a (in my case) JINA Drawer. Maybe you have to uncheck an other one...
In EMUI 8 = Settings - Apps - Apps & notifications - Apps - Settings (bottom of screen) - Special access - Draw over other apps

Holy Moly.. this setting is hidden as hell; on my P10 running EMUI 5.1 (german), the setting path was:
settings > apps > settings (corg button at the bottom left) > special access > draw over other apps > talkback

Yes! On my device Mate 1o Pro, it was Talkback as well that ¨obscured a permission request¨.

If you have a custom rom with Smart Pixels and it is turned on, it will do this also. Turn it off, retry,

im using honor 7x with latest oreo update and running on emui 8.0
none of the above method helped me get through that error
please help i can not verify my computers RSA key because an app is obscuring the permission request .

I have an Honor 8 pro and I'm facing the same issue. I've disabled all apps which draw on the screen and restarted my phone too.

Fix #2 - if it works
i was messing with my Samsung Galaxy J7 Core J701F/DS and I was trying to figure out your problem also because i got the same problem as yours so the thing that worked for me is going to Settings (Nougat 7.0/1)> Apps> 3-dot menu/optionsl settings/other settings> Special Access> Apps that can be on top> Disable all apps like literally disable them all and try to debug your phone again...if it works, enable apps in that setting one by one and repeat debugging process. If it doesnt work, disable the last app you enabled, and if it works again...that is the app that is doing the dirty work...mine was not in the system apps it was one of my apps which is AZ Screen Recorder lol....(why the app that is being used everyday need to be disabled....)

1. Apps such as Blue light filter apps constantly appear on the top of your screen thus breaking some of the on screen functionalities. Try disabling display over other apps permission of such apps and you should be fine.
2. Also, sometimes it is because of your custom launcher, so try switching to your stock launcher if above solutions don't work.
3. If Accessibility for some apps are on then try disabling them first.
PS : Of all the 3 solutions try the possible ones.

This put me on the right track.
I have an LG G6 running Android 8.0. My Keeper Security app needs permission to Draw over other apps and since around December 2018 it has started acting 'flaky'. The app would warn me that I need to turn on this permission, but when I clicked "OK" in the Keeper app to take me to the Android setting for the app, it was always turned on. I could turn it ON/OFF, along with the setting that needed this permission in the Keeper app (called Keeper Fill) and eventually get it to work again, but it would always break again very soon after.
As I am getting ready to go on a trip, I installed Google's Datally app. It, too, wants me to turn on Draw over other apps, but when I tap "next" to be taken to the Android settings page to enable Draw over other apps, nothing happens (I usually expect an app detects it has been enabled and gives "success" message).
So I started disabling the 3 possible suspects listed by kapil1100. I had LG's Comfort View and some Accessibility options enabled, so I turned them off and: no change.
I disabled all other apps that have permission to Draw over other apps via: Settings > Apps & notifications > Special access > Draw over other apps, and: no change.
I use Evie launcher, so I went back to the stock one: no change.
I got thinking about what else could be modifying/accessing the screen and realized that LG has custom Home touch buttons.
I went to: Settings > Display > Home touch buttons > Hide Home touch buttons and DISABLED Show lock/hide icon and then tried enabling Draw over other apps for Datally and IT WORKED!.
I was then able to turn Show lock/hide icon back ON and everything has been working as expected. I suspect that, because I had Show lock/hide icon turned on during an upgrade, something got messed up and my turning it OFF and back ON fixed the issue.
I hope this helps someone!

Black Nav Bar

I used the following adb commands on my Note 8, and now on my Note 9 worked just fine. Just need to install adb on you pc, and enable USB debugging on your phone, also will not trip knox.
1. Enable developer mode:
a. Go to settings
b. Scroll down to about phone
c. Repeatedly tap "Build number" until developer access is granted
2. Get, and install ADB w/ drivers
3. Enable USB Debugging
a. Go to settings
b. Go down to developer options
c. Scroll down to USB Debugging and turn it on
d. Connect phone with USB to PC
e. When you see an alert on your Note 9 requesting permission to "Allow USB debugging," click OK.*On some devices there may be a delay of five or more seconds before you see the "Allow USB debugging?" alert.
4. ) Open administrator Command Prompt, or Administrator Power Shell on your PC
a. Go to you adb install directory, and enter adb shell
5.) shell settings put global navigationbar_color -16777216
6.) shell settings put global navigationbar_current_color -16777216
7.) shell settings put global navigationbar_use_theme_default 0

Try this instead of minimal adb and fastboot...https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
Edit...Just do it like Venom did. Don't type "shell" before typing every line.

I think just changing the color in settings resets it

I tried this last week on my Note 8, and it worked just fine. Now that I have my Note 9, I can't get it to work. All of the commands go through without error, but the color doesn't change. I did receive an OTA yesterday after setting up my Note 9, could that possibly be why this doesn't work?

After running the adb commands in the OP, my Navbar seems to be black on some apps but white on others. I thought I remembered my Note 8 navbar being black all the time after running these commands. Is your Navbar white in the xda app?

Had my navbar black on my Note 8. After time, it made the white a different shade in the area where the navbar is when I hid the navbar. I would much prefer a clear navbar except for the buttons of course, and those can be nearly clear or maybe dark grey. Anyone know the color code for clear or almost clear? TIA.

The reason Samsung doesn't give us dark or deeper colors is literally to prevent screen burn in from dark colors, I had the Black Nav bar on my N8 since back in January and these days I can see the effects beginning to show from its use on the display, Its not terrible but its there.
Just keep in mind that it'll happen when using a black nav bar eventually, I'm still going to use it though.

No its black in the xda app. I just went with a theme and chose to use the theme color for navbar in settings. Thanks for the uploaded pic

Do you know of a dark color to prevent this burn tend to keep my phones for a long time

It would be really nice if Samsung would allow the clear navbar to not be hidden so quickly. Or allow us to make it stay up indefinitely. It would be nice if there were an ADB script to change the timeout of the hidden/clear stock navbar option. For me, that would be the ultimate/best option.
Since I had burn-in on my Note 8 from always having a black nav bar (used the adb script), I have decided not to go with the black navbar on my note 9. I am having the navbar hidden where you have to swipe up to get it to show. Just don't want another burn-in situation. Can't stand the stock whitish colors of the navbar options. I use material_black theme on my phone, and use all dark wallpapers, etc. Last thing I want is a white/bright navbar which does not go with my dark themes at all. So unless someone comes up with a script to change the timeout of the hidden stock navbar option, I guess I will be swiping up for my navbar all the time. Not that tough, but still a PITA that is should be user customizable.

Question 13.0.20.0 - NFC icon

I haven't used my xiaomi 12 pro for a while, today turned it on, updated to 13.0.20.0 and now there is an annoying NFC icon on the top left that does not go away

This is a stable beta, try to restore NFC functionality or reset the phone.

yes NFC is on and I have run nfc rstore to no avail, I have also disabled and re-enabled nfc and icon is still there

Did you reboot afterwards?
May be a bug without a reset difficult to say.
Try settings/management of apps/apps installed/three dots at the top right/display system services/search for Nfc/services Nfc erase data and or notification no

Hide it via Shizuku and SystemUI Tuner (a both u can find on Play Store)..

This command works 100%. You have to enable USB debugging and USB debugging (Security settings) and restart the phone for it to work:
adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist nfc

How do you set security settings?

1. Open System Settings.
2. Go to the Additional Settings section.
3. Open Developer Options.
4. Look for USB debugging and turn on the switch.
5. A warning will appear - check the box that you are aware of possible risks and press the OK button.
6. The USB debugging switch should now be blue, i.e. active.
7. Now find USB Debugging (Security Settings) and turn on the switch.
8. Read the Important Notice and click Next.
9. Read the next important information and click Next again.
10. When asked Allow Now? respond by pressing the Accept button.
11. The USB Debugging (Security Settings) switch should now be blue, i.e. active.
Type
"adb devices"
"adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist nfc"
"adb reboot"
Command to turn icons back on:
"adb shell settings delete secure icon_blacklist"
or
"adb shell settings get secure icon_blacklist"
