Disable Auto-Update of App - Realme X2 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello
I want to disable automatic update of YouTube-App, but although I unticked "Automatic update", it updates automatically anyway.
What to do?
Thanks
Edit: now used detach Magisk module, looks good

Is there a way to disable "Update available" prompt for a certain module?

There is a pretty common situation when the old version of some module is better for particular user than the new one. The updating of modules is manual operation so this is not a critical problem. But if some weird module has an update then the "Update available" prompt will allways be displayed and this is pretty annoying.
Xposed Installer has an option to check certain module for stable, beta or experimental updates but it has no option to not check updates for certain module at all.
Is there a way to achieve desired behaviour?
Best regards!

I always use the ZipSigner to detach from PlayStore.

Resigning does the trick with Play Store updates of course.
But I am talking about Xposed Repo updates and Xposed Installer behaviour. Xposed Installer doesn't lay on module's apk signature.
The rough way to detach module from Xposed Repo is to change it's packet name and to fully repack the apk but it is a very extensive and non-redundant way. In fact it is just a bad way. =(

Wow! Thank you!
It really works.
Unfortunately it doesn't do the trick at 100% because it still shows "Module update(s) are available" notification even when "Ignore update" is switched on. But the "Update available" prompt in dowlnoad list is hidden in such situation as it supposed to be. :good:

Of course. But I don't want to do this. This notification is handy for all "normal" modules. Now writing feedback post on this issue in the installer's topic. Hope the author will fix it somewhen. :fingers-crossed:

Hide settings wont save

Hi,
i have an Moto Z with latest stock rom and magisk 14.2 installed via twrp.
The problem: When i tick an app in hide settings, the entry wasnt saved. When i leave magisk and open the hide setting again, the app wasnt enabled for hide, i can tick it again and gain but it wasnt save.
Can someone help, whats the problem ?
IIRC, the Moto Z is one of the devices with a broken f2fs implementation. The Magisk image can't be mounted, so there's no Hide list to save anything to...
IIRC again, you should be able to get it working if you enable Core Only Mode in the Manager settings, but any apps added to the Hide list will be reset on a reboot.
You could also take a look in your device's forum if there are any custom kernels available with a f2fs fix.
Thanks for the explanation. The Moto Z has unfortunately no good dev support. So i found out that after reboot i must untick the hide option in magisk setting and tick again, then i can tick my app for hide and it was remembered, until next boot.

I am using version 14.0 and have experienced the same problem.
Check the logs stored in the /cache folder to determine the cause.
solution:
Create a folder called /magisk/.core and create an empty file called hidelist in it.
shell command:
mkdir /magisk/.core
touch /magisk/.core/hidelist
I have the same idea but the file system is read only. How to make it rw?
I'm using stock Note 3 (N9005DXSGBQA1) and followed instructions for magisk manager. I got it rooted but magiskhide does NOT work - NOT SAVING ANY SELECTION.
I tried using "core only" and tried inserting a new hidelist but both failed. I badly need the hidelist feature. How can I make magiskhide work? Thanks

Three years later... (I'm still using my Note 3 from 2013, btw)... and did you ever find a solution to this problem? I'm using Magisk 20.3 now, and it still does not keep the "Magisk Hide" option enabled after closing the app.
So enable it, I open the app and go to settings and enable it from there. I must then back out and close the app for the Magisk Hide option to become available under the menu. If I back out of the app again, whatever I had checked as hidden under the "Magisk Hide" menu becomes unchecked again. If I reboot the phone, I have to go back into settings to enable Magisk Hide again.
Any solution for this other than use another device?

How to prevent System Update from 6.0.1 to 7.1.1?

Need help!
I just factory reset my Nexus 6, root it and found in About phone - System update - "System update downloaded and... (restart now)".
I am definitely not want to update from 6.0.1 to 7.1.1, so I am going to Google play service and clean all data. And found that System update start downloading immediately again with only options "Pause downloading", so I pause it for now. I am also found this topic https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/help/how-to-stop-update-downloaded-t3157232 , but it about 5.1.1 and the answer is wrong, because there is no "Automatic System Updates toggle" in 6.0.1 Nexus 6 (this option came in 7.0). I am also installed Disable services app, and disable SystemUpdateService in Google Play Services and Google Services Framework, but it not work.
I am also try another method - Rename /system/etc/security/otacerts.zip to otacerts_bak.zip , but its also didnt work for me
So, how to prevent it, cos I am afraid to reboot my phone?
It's been forever long since MM. I think things were different then, but some ideas;
Long press the notification and a settings gear/cog should be available. From Settings select "Turn off notifications update"
Go to settings -> apps -> Google Play services (not store - you may need to "show system apps") then uncheck the notification box.
Settings -> about device -> software update -> check for updates
There might be an toggle in developer options (tap on build number 7 times to enable developer options)
I try most of those ideas in start topic. Notification not a problem, I am already blocked it - problem with downloading.
And, as I said, Developer options didnt have it in 6.0, only from 7.0
Hmm, maybe I found solution for my question:
Not enough to kill SystemUpdateService, but when I killed SystemUpdateService Activity receiver, System Update options just disappear from menu "About".
Can somebody confirm it?

Magisk warns that it is hidden and it is not true ...

Hello, a while ago I hid Magisk from an application with Magisk Hide and the option "hide the Magisk app". Now I have those two options already disabled but every time an application asks me for root, magisk warns that an application is hiding it and does not let me grant it, I have to go to its list and do it from there. How can I remove that error?
Sounds like you have an app that's creating an overlay and that could be a security issue when granting root. Therefore the Magisk app won't allow you to grant root through the pop-up. This security feature can be disabled in the app settings; it's called Tapjacking protection.
Thanks, that was it, it already works fine
