So I have the ugly stock notification panel on my P30 Pro MIUI 10.
I was wondering if there's any way of modding it without rooting.?
Thanks
You can use Power Shade on the Play store. Did have alot of fun with it.
Thank you very much, I was wondering the same thing. Now I have the notification panel as I wanted. Once again thank you very much.

Hi,
Is power shade actually fully compatible with dark mode in EMUI 10??
Cause I read that auto brightness toggle is screwed up (which I use) and others say it doesn't fully work for Quick Settings or re-asks from time to time accessibility permission. And others mention poorer battery life and performance as Power Shade is always running.
Not sure if it's worth paying for the app that might have those glitches.

Auto brightness works, but if you have that enabled then you cannot manually change brightness, the slider does nothing unless you disable auto
Ok, but how about other icons like Huawei Share that I use often? Are they still present? And how's battery life and performance? Any difference with Power Shade running all the time?

Can the brightness slider be removed from the quick settings panel? It's something that i'll never need and it just takes up room.

Despite doing this manually in the settings, occasionally the brightness goes up due to unknowns. Is there a way to keep the brightness always low?

If you swipe along the notification bar at the top you can increase or decrease the screen brightness.
"it's a feature not a bug"
i hated it myself till i read somewhere that (only if you deactivate auto-brightness) you can increase/decrease the brightness by swiping left/right on your notification panel! it happens often by mistake when you pull it down ... thats your problem
in the new froyo rom's this is no longer the case so now i use auto-mode and wait will this "feature" is no more
edit: Intratech...too fast

I never noticed this actually.. Also ensure though in the browser you have set brightness manually there
have the same problem, but i find the auto brigthness setting saves my battery more rather than accidentally turning it maximum brightness
I tried the "Dimmer" and "Brightness!" apps from the market. But none of them 'Keep' the brightness at the minimum always.
I've noticed 3 places where the brightness can be set - 1st being the web browser, 2nd the actual settings option, and 3rd the video player. Currently, I disabled the auto brightness control and I've set all 3 places to 1 step above minimum. Seems to work for me.
Also, I have a widget on the home screen to set/monitor the brightness level, it's called 'Brightness Widget by Stark Technology Inc.'.

its a bug in ddjf3 try a different rom. maybe jg5 or jm2.
I need some help with options in this phone. First off all I found it annoying that the bottom 4 touch button light turns off in like 5 seconds. I know it saves battery but I want to have the option to keep on longer. I'm pretty sure there isn't a built in option, but is it possible for anyone here to mod this? (I think you can do it because there is a mod to turn them always off).
Next I feel that the lowest screen brightness is still pretty high. Is there anyway that I can reduce it? Possibly through an app? I'm rooted and everything so no problem there. Thanks
Many would like the option to change the time out on the buttons. Unfortunately no fix yet.
As for the brightness, many of the widgets to adjust brightness from the market will allow lower settings
I use extended controls..I don't think it was free but is highly customizable
Hi there!
For sometime now I want to move to LP but I find too many things that are missing compare to my current KK.
I'm using Lux Auto Brightness on my current device and on LP it caused so problems (fullscreen overlay, presist notification etc..)
I was wondering how is the stock auto brightness of the LP (if it's any different from the current KK) or is there any alternative for LP to the Lux?
Thanks!
I absolutely love the stock brightness settings. You set a desired screen brightness with the slider and it adapts the screen in a way, so that depending on environment light you perceive the screen at the same brightness u initially set. In my opinion it works really, really well.

What is your opinion about the brightness compare to KK?
I recall seeing some very poor performance form the stock brightness management in sunlight.

Stock auto-brightness (erm, I mean "adaptive brightness") sucks on Lollipop IMO. It's another example of something that wasn't broken but Google tried to fix it anyway and utterly borked it in the process.
My experience is that it does not "adapt" nearly enough. If I set the slider to the right level in daylight, when I go into a dark room I am blinded. If I set the slider to the right level in a dark room, when I go into sunlight I cannot see the screen. Frankly I cannot see the screen adapting at all. If it is adapting then it's in within a very narrow range. I even did a software repair to see if that would solve it, but it didn't.
I've not used Lux, but I've not heard good things about it in Lollipop and am loathed to install an app to do something that previously was handled fin by the OS. Stock auto-brightness worked very well for me in KK.

I'm using Lux on LP and don't have any issues. The persistent notification can be set so it's only visible in the swiped down notification view, but not perpetually visible in the notification bar (in Lux settings, set notification visibility to lowest priority). What do you mean by "fullscreen overlay?"

I think I found the problem; when battery saver mode is enabled, when it kicks in, it will set your screen brightness to a certain fixed level. But when you charge the phone again and battery saver mode deactivates, it will not automatically re-enable adaptive brightness, so you need to re-enable it manually.
My experience was that kitkat was better on the screen brightness. Lollipop works fine and adapts well, except that in bright sunlight it won't turn up the brightness as much as kitkat did.
I want to do factory reset because of android system using too much battery and just thought of trying lineageos since I'm wiping everything anyways.
I know camera quality is worse and live display isn't as good as night mode, but is there anything else?
Sultanxda's Lineage OS has almost the same camera quality as Oxygen OS.
Not much, and still you can get away with less battery usage ? unless you're using some power hefty apps or try to many energy saving things which will cause the opposite.
Also camera quality issues can be solved by using either Sultans camera mod (available as recovery zip file) or CameraNX which I use.
And I don't see whats so much better with OOS night mode. LOS is quite customizable when it comes to color temperature.

can you provide this camera you are talking about? I have tried RR but left because of the HORRIBLE camera. The paranoid camera didn't impress me either. I find OOS's to be much superior
Use sultanxda version of Lineage OS, not only camera app.

On the contrary, the latest version has battery idle drain problems.Apart from this problem, this is almost the perfect ROM
Thanks to multiboot, I made a lot of comparisons between OOS (betas and stables) and Lineage OS, and I can say that OOS is very stable, is more battery saving and is much more smooth.
On the contrary, LOS is more customisable, but for me one feature is missing in LOS roms: the possibility to have a different ringtone for each SIM.
The one thing I find to be incredibly annoying is that there is no way to disable the heads-up notifications from appearing on the screen when you are using the phone on OOS. There is no 'mid' priority mode in the app notification settings that you can set which allows sound/vibration and the icon in the status bar but disables the interruption. There is also no status bar shortcut for quickly enabling and disabling the headsup notifications in OOS. But this feature can be found in LineageOS and I miss it the most.

I was wondering about that.. I flashed it on a full charge and I'm at 87% with no usage at all. Flashed and sat.. was going to get everthing set up but I'm concerned if I even should at this point. That's a lot of drain after doing this while plugged in ... in my experience anyway. I know LTE uses a lot of battery but after only about 2 hours off the charger and on Wifi, that's odd to me. Hmmmm...

Hi to all,
Huawei have very bad AOD, it doesn't have any information only time. I found this AOD that have so much settings and very, very, useful.
- AOD (time, calendar, weather),
- Notification (when you get messages on som application like Viber it shows Viber icon, you can touch icon and read message on AOD without unlock it),
- Blacklist app - app you dont want to show on AOD,
- Duble tap to wake, swipe up for camera and etc...,
- Edge lights for notifications,
- Background for wallpaper,
- Adaptive mod,
- Font style,
- Music Controls,
- Automatic move clock,
- And many more settings...

Hmm... Looks pretty sweet. I will definitely give it a try. It is odd that the Huawei features are so... thin. I mean, why wouldn't they at least give you the ability to toggle notification icons for just a few common apps?
I tried this and the battery drain is high even with just the digital clock on.
Yeah, I said the same in the other thread. It was using 1% in around 10 - 15 minutes and I hadn't even turned on proximity detection.
I used it for half a day. But he consumes a lot of charge. I do not recommend.
Yeah I noticed my battery draining pretty fast too. However I still think this app is pretty cool and worth it, especially over the crappy native AOD... As my phone still gets through a full day usually.
Though if I think I'm gonna have a day of heavy phone use or I'm travelling or something, I'll just disable it.
I'm using this one, which is very good as well.

I think there's nothing which can be done about battery, whatever app you use it will always drain something.

It does if you configure it properly. And yeah, there were problems with notifications showing up on the M20 Pro (and I suppose onother EMUI 9 phones as well), but they have been fixed in the meantime.
Must admit I just use it during the day and when I put my phone on the wireless charging pad...just like all other aod apps, it just consumes too much battery to be taken in consideration for constant use (the dev himself doesn't advise to use it this way either). I guess devs can't do nothing about it, it's just the way it is with aod.

Built in AOD consumes very little power but a third party app version doesn't have elevated system privileges so it's going to eat battery like crazy to keep itself open and running.
It's similar to why built in SMS uses very little power but an app like Facebook Messenger is a notorious battery hog.
