Hi,
I recently got K20 pro and it's running stock MIUI Indian rom (10.3.3).
I've followed steps from the following link to disable Ads wherever possible:
https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-miui-ads-hamper-user-experience/
However Music (stock Mi) app is still giving ads in the notification bar. How do I uninstall or just disable this App (without root/unlocking)? Many Mi Apps could be disabled but not this one.
Even Disable button is grayed out in MIUI Hidden Settings App.
Thanks.
Have you tried Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot Tools?

Weird but it worked. I actually tried that before (well no need to swear but I swear I tried) and "Disabler" Tab was grayed out and it failed to uninstall from the Uninstaller tab. After you said, gave it another try. This time Software came up with Disabler tab enabled and Disable worked.
Thanks.
EDIT: I tried to disable another app "Mi Video" and it failed (in the same instance of XiaomiADBFastbootTools) . Closed the software and restarted it. This time the Disable worked for this 2nd app.
Hi, this is my first topic here, so I don't see any topic same this. And sorry for the bad English.
About 3 days ago my Play Store is not updating or downloading apps, I already tried all the options I found on the internet, from clearing the cache to removing the Google account and putting it back on, but all without success. Appears the apps to update but when I put it to update it appears by downloading and does not come out of it. Does anyone know anything about?

Been there done that. The only remedy is to clean flash due to your corrupted google data
-Switch to airplane mode on
-Settings, Apps, enable to see System Apps
-For the following apps go to Storage and delete Data: Google, Google Play Services, Google Playstore, Google Services Framework
-Reboot, switch airplane mode off
-Install manually one or few apps that you didn't have installed and you know is available on Playstore, but install it from the apk file (download eg from APKMirror.com)
-Leave the phone connected to WiFi over night/half a day, and in the morning check if Playstore works normally
The solution is update to android 10
Sent from my MI 9 using Tapatalk
Solved.
I just restart the wifi modem and worked.
Thanks for help.

Why won't I want to install the android auto apk app?Says the application is not installed when I try to install it
I have Xiaomi Mi 9 lite. Rooted and bootloader unlocked. Netflix didn't work so I downloaded xapk bundle, installed it through apkmirror app. I had to turn of miui optimization so the installation would complete. It did, but after that I can't open Contacts and dialer. I asks to give permission and i do then it says "you have disabled required permission". I went to settings, found contacts app and gave all permissions, other permission also and enabled all notifications. Still doesn't work.
And after restart i cant enter pin, screen shows, but quickly disappears. Then I have to restore my TWRP backup.
I have removed apkmirror app and turn ON optimatizaton, still doesn't work.
Reinstalling or updateing Contacts app also does nothing.
Can you get back into the system past your pin? If so, just install a different dialer/contacts app, there are plenty that should work

Please, were you able to the fix the contact app issue? I'm having the exactly the same problem.
Hi,
I have a Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro with Andoid 10 / MIUI 12 (Global Rom, with Google Phone app). I cannot have google contact sync anymore since this "Contacts Storage" system app have "Contacts" permission denied and greyed out. I tried creating a second space in my phone and contacts storage have contacts permission enabled, so it's something related to my user data.
Any idea? I already tried wiping Contacts Storage data, reset app preferences. I also tried to grant permissions through ADB with no luck. I really want to avoid a factory reset, since I have tons of OTP and other stuff to export and reimport.

Same problem after MIUI 12 update ((((
The issue can be reproduced installing this:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/xiaom.../contacts-and-dialer-xiaomi-12-0-1-6-release/
Even if you uninstall this app, it seems "contacts storage" system app is bricked and can't be fixed.

You're right. I found the same dependence. I had to reset my phone(
What if you adb uninstall and install it back?
It's a system app. Without unlocking bootload and rooting, you cannot install system apps.

With adb you can
absolutely not, unless your phone is unlocked and rooted.
How does one do that?
How to disable any pre-installed system app bloatware on Android without root
If you hate the bloatware or pre-installed apps on your Android smartphone, here's how to disable them even if Android doesn't normally let you.
www.xda-developers.com
I tried adb on an older phone. It doesn't really remove them. it disables them and they don't appear in the app drawer anymore.
correct?

Correct. Well it at least don't drain your battery anymore. But it still takes up the storage. If you really want to squish the most storage out of the phone and store a few gigs more photos or videos, you can flash a custom ROM.
I understand. I tried it. they're no longer visible. thank you!

I'm not sure if it's safe to remove Play Store because many Google's APPs are interconnected with the phones' settings, but I might be wrong.
it's safe (for my use). but i have only disabled not uninstalled. play store is not play services. is only an app store. so all google apps works fine also without it. aurora store is a very good alternative. it have a filter for search only apoa without afs. very helpfull. when i must to use play store for some updates, simply i re enable it

It's pretty easy to disable / delete stuff with ADB, as others have said. But beware if you use screencasting that you need the two packages -- commonly categorized as bloatware in many tutorials -- or casting won't work.
I idiotically removed them on all my Xiaomi phones and although you can theoretically reinstall them, I basically can't screencast anymore (it starts, but then blackscreens):
