Is there a custom rom for nubia z20?
Or is there someone working on it?
Nubia x has a custom rom and i wish z20 has at least 1 custom rom (Android 10 based).
I checked the website of the guy who made nubia x rom and he doesn't have z20 listed under nubia phones
Is soon to see any custom ROM for this device... and maybe it never comes
Mokee team has developed a ROM for the Nubia X so maybe they will do the same for the Z20.

Has mokee team already said if they will make custom rom for nubia z20?
Keen to help move this along any way I can.
I can provide compute resources for the builds as well as experience with Linux and android app development.
Used to build RR for my OP3 but someone else did the inital vendor-isation. Not sure how to start or even what questions to ask first; proprietray blobs and all that jazz.
If anyone is in the know and wants to work with me on this, please get in touch. Happy to get involved with building any custom ROM.

Nubia z20 gets no love from rom developers.
It's a shame as most flagships have either notches or cutouts.

There's a lineage OS (based on 10), Flowertome has developed it. Seem to be completed soon. Just wait.

Will they retain the dual screen multi tasking, dual screen always on display and squeeze functions?
Those 3 are the only functions I need aside from stock android
Is that still being done?i checked that thread and i think the first post is not being updated anymore
Last commit to the git repo was a week ago so the project is certainly still active, people have lives as well. I've started building lineageos for EU devices based on this device tree but am committed to other projects too. Keen to get something posted here so will share as soon as I have something relatively stable. At the moment, building the kernel is enough to be working on for me
Update android 10
A custom rom for nubia z20 has been released but I dont know if it works. Can someone install it and make a video about it? PM me / post everything here if it works. Make a video about it or something like that. I found that it might work but I am not sure if it has the "dual screen switcher" and the camera modes. My phone is not rooted and I can't do it . If yours is, try and post updates here. If its good, we might try it too.

If the flashing fails, use the mt file manager (existed in the discussion group!) To decompress the zip package, and then select install-flash in twrp, and flash the 3 img files inside into the corresponding partitions. For example: system.img flashes the system partition vendor.img flashes the vendor partition boot.img flashes the md5 value of the boot partition file:

While I can certainly appreciate all the effort people have put forth to build TWRP for Dragon -- the version we all need will never see official support due to the necessity of fwtool. This is because of the HTC Dumlock that is currently in it's place for other devices. I sincerely doubt that Ethan will care to implement this without a backup for the many other devices they currently support.
Myself, @cheep5k8, and @followmsi have already made strides on this front -- so I ask this: what do you bring to the table that we haven't already accomplished ourselves (while having source open for everyone to see)?

It would be wonderful if we get official TWRP support from @Dees_Troy .. not much missing.
Like said above .. fwtool needs be integrated fixed ... ontop to htc dumlock .. and the encryption stuff
Just a comment .. I have checked your TWRP image .. it will never boot
The chromeos vboot part is missing.
Thanks for your efforts ...

Building on the achievements of @cheep5k8, @followmsi and @NYCHitman1, adding another person trying to do something positive is never a bad thing.

Vboot = verified boot. The ChromeOS bootloader requires a kernel to pass through verity in order to post boot into system. Without it, you'll be stuck with a bootloop.

I have seen TWRP 3.0 which was booting. So I have unpacked and pulled kernel now, I have started compiling for TWRP 3.0.2-2.
Test the new 3.0.2-2
3.0.2-2 did not boot up for me. Just kept reebooting System and did not go into Recovery. I tried flashing with TWRP 3.2.2 and with Flash Fire. Same result

If im correct, it means our devs have just to work on /vendor so we can flash gsi of ROMs that aren't built specific for santoni. Also updating hardware related things are completely independent of Rom Updates.
I understand more now, how difficult it is for devs.
Thanks for explanations.

Yup stable enough, some small bugs are there like cannot turn Bluetooth and WiFi on at the same time and YouTube seems to stutter.
Other than that everything works fine. Does heat up a little bit though.
I'm just trying DP4 and flashed all 3 zips after the GSI but the device doesn't sleep. Anyone else?
BT and WiFi at the same time isn't.possible, it seems.

Hi,
It seems noone so far tryed to flash a treble GSI to the redmi 6. Im courious in doing this, but would like to discuss potential risks. What could go wrong?
After some reading i found the possibility that devices get problems running Google Apps, since they we're not certified.
To prevent this, you can register your Google Services ID in your Google Account.
1) Install the App "device ID" from Playstore, run it and copy the GSF.
2) Open this Page and paste your GSF. Click register, and your done.
Another thing is that there are two types of GSI Updates.
Type A/B and Type A. I ran the App "treble Check" from Playstore and it tells me that the redmi 6 ist treble supported and that I need the Type A GSI
Then it seems necessary to remove magisk/superSu/xposed to have a clean boot Image.
Loosing data is no problem for me.
Anyone any suggestions?
Tell us what works and what doesn't work.

You use the TWRP in test ?
..i will not flash until i'm pretty Sure, nothing will go wrong.
I would like to understand what ist technicaly done.
After what i've read, its a normal fastboot flash, of the system partition. So, am I still able to run TWRP If anything goes wrong?
I guess the way to go, is to do a clean Fastboot flash of the official MiUi10 in advance to make sure my boot/ramdisk is clean. Then I would reflash TWRP and last the GSI.
What do you think?
(beside from 'let others risk their phone')
use this link for reference:
https://youtu.be/YI2CtIIPVaI
please, which treble GSI AOSP rom (8.1 or 9.0) advised with the most things working (calls, camera, fingerprint, sound...)??
thanks
i think Android 8.1 gsi rom is more stable as of now.
if u want to flash gsi rom
1. unlock bootloader by official way
2. flash twrp
3. do a factory reset in twrp
4. flash rom.
that's all.
nobody has tested yet?
no feed back on what's working and what doesn't?
I think i am gonna test soon, just gotta get some info... i was flashing intesively lot of phones in past, but now i had pause few years... seems lot of things changed - treble?! whaat?!
I just got this redmi 6, although i wanted 5, and seems it was big mistake, but nonetheless im gonna try and see. I dont remember any phone with 0 info and 0 feedback few years back.

Hey there everyone!
Since there are no custom ROM's currently available for our Redmi 6, i decided to give GSI ROM's a try. I tried los 15.1, and it worked! Wifi, bt, and even camera work. The only problem: The radio's don't work, so you cant make calls / sms /data. Other then that, the ROM is super fast and speedy. Also, there are no GApps and its not certified, so we gotta certify it I've tried only Lineage, but you can also try RR, HavocOS etc.
BTW, the Redmi 6 is ARM and A only.

You don't need to fastboot flash the img, you can use TWRP too. And yes, TWRP works if anything goes wrong and worst case use Mi flash and rescue your phone. I tried los 15.1, here are my thoughts: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-6/how-to/rom-gsi-lineage-os-redmi-6-t3915146

Imo, this (https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-6/how-to/rom-gsi-lineage-os-redmi-6-t3915146) boots and works, but no calls :crying: If you want calls you'll need cereus's drivers. Don't expect everything to work with GSI.

Hey there !
Also, there are no GApps and its not certified, so we gotta certify it I've tried only Lineage, but you can also try RR, HavocOS etc.

i think Android 8.1 gsi rom is more stable as of now.
if u want to flash gsi rom
1. unlock bootloader by official way
2. flash twrp
3. do a factory reset in twrp
4. flash rom.
that's all.

Hi,
It seems noone so far tryed to flash a treble GSI to the redmi 6.

Don't know bro, since your post was 5 years old but here it is showing arm32_binder64_ab_system.img or a64_system_ab.img will work fine...
i.e in short Android 13 gsi will definitely gonna work

downloading from sourceforge.net using redmi 4x corrupts zip file.
i have downloaded this rom twice from sourceforge .net given link.after flashing device stays stuck at boot google logo.at the site page it says software downloads are not possible in this device and there s button says download anyway,so i think that zip file gets corrupted while downloading.i dont have other device or pc.so pls upload rom to other site than sourceforge,which can allow download at any device.

Which one you downloaded? Both builds booted fine! And the try to download anyway option doesn't corrupt the files, maybe the download was unsuccessful at some point.
Thanks to bringing back pe flavour to santoni ?

Oh bro now I think I understood your problem. You have to wait almost 15mins maximum for ROM to boot first time
Great ROM and thanks a lot for keep doing new builds for this phone
But for future builds could you include the Google Camera and not the camera app that is included in the ROM now?

Hi,
on sourceforge, there's a build from september 29 called "FINAL". Does it mean you won't maintain updates for this rom ?
Or do you plan OS upgrade ? To Android 10, for example ?

Hi all,
I'm proud to announce SailfishOS for the OnePlus 6!
I think it's great to support alternatives to Android and help bring some competition back to the mobile OS space.
I really appreciate any contributions, bug reports or suggestions on GitHub
Code:
#include "disclaimer.h"
/*
* I am NOT responsible for you getting fired because the alarm app failed or if you destroy your device.
* Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this port.
* Same security standards as for official Sailfish OS devices may not apply here.
* Everything is served on an as-is basis and YOU are choosing to do these modifications.
*/
If you aren't comfortable formatting, flashing and generally dealing with your device, please don't install this ROM
What works?
* Display
* Touch
* LED
* Audio
* NFC
* Bluetooth
* Phone calls
* Texts
* Mobile Data
* WiFi
* GPS
* Camera
* Sensors
* RTC alarms
* USB data and charging
What Doesn't work?
* Fingerprint reader - currently unavailable on unofficial sailfishOS ports
* Battery optimisations - I will be moving to an updated kernel and applying some manual tweaks (possibly from the brilliant custom kernels already here).
* OTAs - I'm currently working on getting OTA updates working, when they are you will be able to get new updates without having to flash a new image!
FAQ
PLEASE read the FAQ before asking questions, I won't respond to questions about features I've mentioned there.

I'm hoping to expand to support the 6T in the future - if you're interested in testing I could probably create a build in the next few weeks.
If you fancy trying it yourself you can follow the build guide (https://github.com/sailfish-oneplus6/sf-enchilada/blob/master/building.md) and modify the file manifests file (https://github.com/sailfish-oneplus6/local_manifests) to use the OnePlus 6t device tree (https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_oneplus_fajita) and changes some of the other config files you should be able to get something going!

Hmm I'll give it a shot on 6T thanks for the repos and most importantly, your hard work!!
This is very great news, because I always wanted a real Linux+GNU OS for a phone! Tried porting pmOS to the op6 but with no luck. When I fix my ThinkPad I will try rebuilding it again. Good luck with the OTA's and the optimisations! Great work!

Thanks you I'd be happy to create a telegram channel if people are interested.
I personally love the freedom of being able to have a full systemd based operating system in my pocket, but it entirely depends on what you value. A large benefit for the moment is that there will be very little in terms of viruses/exploits as there isn't a large user base.
I'd recommend checking out this wiki page.

I won't be able to work on fingerprint until Jolla make the UI code available, it's currently implemented in the driver.
Sailfish is based on Lineage OS not OOS, android 10 base support will hopefully be coming this summer.
tks !!!!!!!!
You are the best

It will be installed when you click the download complete message. If it doesn't :
1. Check if you haven't turned on 'Install Software from untrusted sources' in settings.
2. It can't be installed due to dependencies, solve the dependencies first.
