Battery drain - Realme X2 Pro Questions & Answers

I'm having battery problems.
It has excessive consumption, I would not like it to be due to unlocking the bootloader or root.
I think more of incorrect background app management

I am not too happy about battery too.
I was expecting better battery management.
When in standby it drains more than while using the device.
I have also blocked background data in most of user apps so they wouldn't connect but it didn't work.
To be clear, I stil can do whole day, but with moderate usage.
Best hours on screen more less 5 hours. But I've read about people who even did almost 10 hours of active screen.

phone is good. Battery worse. realme 5 pro dont buy until battery issue solves

only issue with this new update a9 version with previous a8 battery is fine but now i can't get sot of 5 hours.

it drains a lot while using WIFI 5GHz, IDK why
so i switch to 2.4GHz

I'm getting about 2-3% battery drain on standby overnight and leave WiFi on but turn data off.

15-25% overnight battery drain versus 3-4%

According to the Battery thread in this forum, some people experience a high overnight battery drain, and some get a low one.
I am currently a member of the high club. For battery testing, I have most things turned off, like location services and google now. Last night overnight drain (8 hours) took the battery from 76% to 58%... 18%. On my previous phone, the HTC One, the overnight drain would be around 6%.
I am curious about the people who are getting low (~5%) overnight drains. Do they all have Wifi off? What is their secret?! Do tell.

Install better battery stats to monitor what's going on. I think the one night I left it off charge over night I lost maybe 6-8% but I slept for like 10+ hours. This is with google now on, gps on, wifi on.
What i'm testing now that I think will actually improve batt life is having wifi turn off when display is off (unless plugged in). I think I noticed less idle drain at home when I did this but it was temporary. Giving it a shot over a few days now.
I leave wifi on and I get less than 5% drain. Nothing syncs when my screen is off except notification weather pro every two hours and Yahoo weather

Personally I think the X and new droids have idle drain issues. Even when better battery stats shows nearly 100% deep sleep overnight, I still lose 8-10%. In comparison, on my HTC One mini, which is setup EXACTLY the same as my X in terms of installed apps, syncing accounts, running services, etc., I lose only 2-3% overnight. The number of people complaining about the issue seems to confirm it is more widespread than on other recent phones, as do the countless screenshots showing unusually high android OS usage in battery stats.

I honestly believe it will be patched with the Camera.
I'm having the same issue. People are reporting crazy battery stats with like 20+ hours of use 2+ hours of screen on and like 20% battery left. I get MAYBE 12 hours of use and 2 hours of screen on and 20-25% left. My mediaserver is keeping the phone awake for almost an hour+ each day, and without root I can't figure out how to stop it. I always have GPS/Google Now/Bluetooth off, too.
I thought the drain was related to Wifi. But last night WiFi was turned off for the night and I still got 18% battery drain in about 8 hours.
Wifi at home and overnight. I get about 5% drain... however, the wifi at work kills my phones battery with the wlan wakelock.
Maybe there is something going on with the X and certain wifi networks?

Interesting theory but my overnight idle drain was approximately the same on both LTE and WiFi. 10-15%.

How about turning off all radios (flight mode) and observe battery drain at night. Then turning wifi while on flight mode the next night and see the battery drain and so on until you can pin point what causes the most drain.

Package disabler pro got nothing to do with battery life. Find out which app runs in the background and keeeps your phone awake.

Knock on wood bro, I wish i can have that rate of drainage during standby, im loosing around 30% during the exact same period!!!
Not enough information to answer. Wifi connection? weak or strong signal? How is the phone mobile signal strength? What is the phone doing in the background? Email accounts? facebook or other social stuff? What do you have installed that might bring up any type of notification?
I'm usually happy with 1% or less battery loss an hour while on WiFi with a moderate to strong wireless signal (and strong wifi signal.) with only google plus, and 4 email accounts (2x exchange/activesync, 2x gmail) set for push.
I also have a few different things that use google cloud messaging for pushing notifications.
Actually I am abroad so I am on airplane mode only wifi enable(always awake on )
And no special apps installed ( adguard and usual stuff)
Thanks
That's less than 1% per hour, which is pretty damn good.

Exactly. I don't understand why people think that app is the Holy Grail and will magically give them better battery life and performance lol. Battery life has everything to do with what is running and syncing in the background. Not about bloat or lack thereof.
This is the best you can expect from the Note5 I think. Mine is around that. And Package Disabler Pro definitely helps with battery life
For me, 5% drain in 7 hours sleeping is not ok. My note 5, the truth is, normally 3% drain at most in 8 hours sleeping with no chat message notifications.
If the chat message notifications keep sending on my note 5, normally 5%-6% drain in 8 hours sleeping.
I get 4-5% drain over 7-8 hours over night. I'm on stock

5% IS ok. Just because you can get it down to 3% doesn't mean 5 isn't good. A lot of factors including signal strength can affect this greatly so it's impossible to generalize. As a rule of thumb though if it's draining 5% in 7-8 hours that's good by Android standards.

note 5 battery

is there any battery drain issue with note 5 on MM or auto shut off at certain % ?
as far as I can tell it doesnt auto-shut itself down at a certain %. I dont really get it to 0%, but I had to see how long it would last and so I drained it till 0% with no issues.
however the battery life on MM isnt too good, I mean I can get to about 4 - 4,5 hours of screen on time, but if I turn on the wifi router it goes down drastically.
one thing you should try is turning off the google location history.
12 hours Standby Drain at 0.7% per hour
My 1 year old Note5 Duos has no major issues with battery so far.
12 hours Standby Drain at 0.7% per hour
Ive read that the autoshutdown is builtin to avoid further issue. though on the batt drain, i have the same issue. can you check if you encounter the same with 3g or wifi. supposedly the known issue with the MM upgrade is on the 4g/LTE connection. it would overheat and batterydrains quickly. 100% to 15% in less than 30mins

I do have what's app and Instagram apart from the other two that you mentioned .. my general use is of 3.5 to 4 hours per day but by the end of day the battery dies..so my question is should I stop background running apps? I have around 30 to 35 apps installed on phone..
I got this tips for battery longevity..
Also, don't put phone on vibration mode...it consumes battery...either silent or sound..
Attached
1) get charger alarm and set it to 80%
2) disable uselesa background apps.
Thats it.
I charge to 80% every morning, despite having 4G volte + data 24/7 with upto 2 hours calling, 30mins-60mins gaming, 1hr+ chatting, 30mins+ 9gag, 30mins youtube...
Mine phone still stays around 35%...when I check next morning
Data (4g), location, auto synch are ALWAYS turned ON
(Yesterday my totol usge was 5.5hours with 1hour gaming (fortnite)... My battery was at 25% when i checked this morning)
I recently bought the honor play but have found the battery usage to be higher than I would like at night during standby. I leave my phone connected to wifi and 4g (although 4g is not on when wifi is) and I noticed that the phone wakes up a lot during the night. It seems that it mostly wakes up more often when on wifi as when on 4g during the day there are far fewer wake up events. So to solve this problem I'm using tasker to disable wifi, deny all network activity (excluding calls), bluetooth and auto sync for me during 11:30pm and 7.30am. The result is that the phone barely wakes up at night now and I am getting 2-3% battery drain over 8 hours instead of 10-14%. So I would recommend doing this, as it seems to improve battery life. There may be other apps that can do the same thing but I like the interface and usability of it over something like automate.
Edit: I would also recommend leaving the standard power saving mode on all the time as it doesn't limit performance but just limits background activity. However, this does disable auto sync, but then you could just set auto sync to turn on at set intervals using tasker, at least that's what I'm doing.

battery or software problem??

I am software version shown in ss
I just bought the phone and only getting sot 30 mins for 10% of battery consumption i got like 4 and half hour of sot for 73% battery consumption i thought x2 pro have around 8 hr sot help me it's frustrating
Well that calculates to more than 6h SOT, which isn't that unrealistic if you used 4g and max screen brightness all the time, but there might be something draining the battery. Check the usage details. I see you use something connected to bluetooth so that might be causing the issue.
Bro i was using the brightness at 27% and nothing was connected to the Bluetooth
I installed betterbatterystats (bbs) xda edition and gsam battery app with adb rights. So you can see the deep sleep with bbs and the times of dot/phone time/ect and which app use how many ampere.
In this charging time I get 4,5 hours dot with 40 hours phone is on. I have now 34%.
Debloating, netguard firewall, no energy saving, always 90 hz.
Also i am having fps dropping issue during online gaming like pubgm or codm
What should i do to get normal 60 fps as this phone has 855+ so i can get 60 fps normally
I'm having even worse SOT and I have the same realme ui version.
I'm not as much hardcore user as a lot of you and looking at 4k mah battery I thought that I will be getting at least 7h SOT.
I'm not playing any games, right now most of the time phone is connected to wifi. What should I do? Debloat my phone? Is it somehow dangerous for my software? Can i ever go back to normal version?
location services destroyes battery on this device
i disable it for one day just to see the difference and it went from 4 hours SOT to 6 hours plus
always talking full brightness wifi some 4g 90hz
and from 100% to 1%
You have like almost 30 hours of standby, and if you use always on display, then that's at least 30% on that. If you consider this then it doesn't look that bad. You do the math. The other guy's stats concern me more.
You will need to make some adjustments, battery can be excellent but you have to be realistic,
Check out App quick freeze and freeze the apps you don't use.
Dark mode,
AOD off,Screen light effects off,
You just got the phone, tinker with it a while to see,
Also battery will drain a lot when your setting up the first day
