Hello there, I hope you can help me.
For my phone to play music out of my car, it must be my phone that initiates the connection with my car. If it connects by itself it won't play music. I have to disconnect it and reconnect it manually and it plays fine.
Rather than do this everytime, I set up tasker to do it for me.
Profile: Bluetooth connected to my car.
Task
Turn off Bluetooth
Turn on Bluetooth
Connect to car
Stop
This up until recently worked perfectly. Instead now it just turns off Bluetooth but does not turn it back.
Can you advise what I am doing wrong pls?
Or what task/profile you think I should do?
Thanks.
After the task runs, check the run log for any hints.
Does it work if you run the task manually?

Is there an app for android to automatically connect A2DP when the handsfree connects?
I used to use an app called autoA2DP on win mobile.
At first pairing it connects both a2dp and handsfree, after that only handsfree connects automatically, any help would be appreciated as it's already driving me nuts....
Thanks!

Go to bluetooth settings, long press on the device in question, then options. Make sure Phone and Media are both checked.
Yep, they are... I can manually connect a2dp from both the car stereo and the phone, it just doesn't happen automatically like the handsfree does, had the same prob with windows mobile, but an xda dev user here developed autoA2DP to watch for a handsfree connection, then activate A2DP.
I don't know why yours is different, but mine auto connects for both every time I turn my Bluetooth headset on.
It does vary between headsets a bit. My Jabra Halo's connect automatically when I power on the phone or the headset. On the other hand my JBL Reference 610's had to be connected manually every time.
Still it seems odd though that is connects in handsfree and not A2DP, I always thought it was all or nothing. When a device connects it gives all available profiles and the phone decides what to accept. I don't know, sorry.
I have the same problem.. it does not auto connect with my car's bluetooth. The only way it auto connects is when I have the discoverable mode on (which has a limit of 116 secs or so). So an app that lets you be discoverable all the time would be great!

Same problem but reverse. My phone connects automatically to my phones music everytime i switch it on, however the more important headset/phone functions do not. I must manually disconnect and reconnect the stereo from within the phones bluetooth settings for both to work. Have looked through hundreds of threads found loads of people eith the same problem, yet no solutions. Would love an app to just disconnect and reconnect the bluetooth the moment it detects a paired device in range.... as yet found nothing...
Well... I'm getting the same.
I have LiquidAUX on my car and to have both phone and a2dp synced, I have to restart phone BT and LiquidAUX every time I go into car. And most of the times I can only have 1 connection each time, or phone is on and a2dp is off or a2dp is on and phone is off. It's really annoying since I had an HTC Hero with Android 2.2 and it used to work with no problems...
Hi guys,
Before one month I buy HTC Desire android and I have problem streaming audio through Bluetooth. I have connected the phone with my car and they are paired. Every time when I go in the car my phone is connected to the car Bluetooth automatic, but I'm not able to run A2DP.
I'm with latest Runney rom, before that I tested with MIUI XJ, but no success with both.
Can some one tell me if there is rom without these 2 issues - bluetooth auto connection and a2dp.
Thanks
Hi,
I bought a Bluetooth Car Stereo. I've paired it and it pairs fine. When I connect it, it works great and IF I leave BT permanently on, it automatically connects when I sit in the car. If I disable bluetooth to conserve battery, upon re-enabling it, it DOES NOT automatically connect. Instead, I have to go Settings, Wireless, Bluetooth and press Connect manually.
Is there no way of making my phone automatically scan or check or whatever? I'm pretty sure my old Nokia could connect automatically, in fact I'll test now!
Thanks,
Joe
I've been loading all my podcasts and videos onto my Fire instead of my phone to save the battery drain on the phone since it is used heavily. I run the audio via bluetooth to my car stereo, but every time I turn the car off and on, or the stereo off and on, I have to manually go into the Fire's bluetooth menu and connect to the device again.
It stays paired, but not connected. Is there a way to have this auto connect like all my phones have previously done? Maybe I missed something simple, or maybe it's not possible yet.
Thanks!
This only happens in my car but...
When I start the car, my handset connects.b, but the music will not play through the car. To get it to work, I have to wait until the car connects with my phone, then turn BT off and on again. Every time. Anyone else suffering from this.
My Bluetooth is working with my car. This is normal procedure that it will take a couple second to sync phone with car system. So even after a 1 minute even you load up Pandora radio or anything, it wont play on your car's stereo ? do you get any error message on phone ? The only thing which i noticed is missing artist and song title tag on my car's screen. I think it is caused by Pandora radio, cause when I restart Pandora, it will work fine. Try to reset your phone or 1st delete Bluetooth car sync profile and re-sync again. Good luck.
Do you have a Bluetooth headset connected when you connect to your car?
If so, go in to your BT device profiles on the phone, open up your headset, and disable media audio.

No message on the phone. I play though Google Music and on the phone it looks like it is playing as normal. I'm only using a simple BT device that conects through the aux port as Ford want a small fortune to supply the bluetooth adapter. I'll have a little play though, thanks for the advice.

No headset connected, nothing else via BT in range to connect to. I'll see if I can find anything else in the profiles though.
Maybe it's Google music. I will try to play music whatever it's store on your memory. I know it seems stupid but it's good to try it. I tried my nexus on my friend's car and no issues. He own Audi, I got Hyundai with navigation. Anyway there is not a lot settings regarding Bluetooth. Like I said before, might be worth to reset phone .
I have a similar issue and it is only with my car as well. It pairs up, the bluetooth audio controls on the stereo come up, but it doesn't play unless I hit play on the phone. After that, I can skip tracks, pause, etc. This happens about 90% of the time, to the point where it almost catches me off guard when it works like it is supposed to. This did not happen with my previous phone (HTC One M8) or any of the iPhone versions I had before it.
Hello! Thank you in advance for any help.
My Goal is to make a Profile / Task to enter into "Car Mode" and then when the car is Disconnected Go back into Normal Mode.
I always have my BT headphone connected. If they are connected to my phone the car will not connect to the phone. So If i make a shortcut to initiate that would work so Click shortcut "Enter Car Mode", Disconnect from BT ear buds, Connect to BT Car head unit, turn portrait mode on, Start CAR App.
Then when BT Car Head Unit disconnects turn portrait mode off, kill CAR app. (Dont really need it to reconnect to Earbuds because they would of turned of)
I've played with states and Near BT but nothing has really been consistent or worked correctly. Any Help would be great! Thanks!
Use secure settings if you want to connect/disconnect a Bluetooth device
There's an app called Bluetooth Auto Connect that also has Tasker integration. I've never used it so I can't say how well it works or if it will even do what you want to accomplish. It's free so it might be worth a look.
