Hi. I have rooted my device, so I installed my favourite apps and freezed stock ones.
My favourite file manager is Solid Explorer, so I installed it and freezed File Manager stock with titanium backup. Usually I still can set ringtones with custom file manager, but on this device, if I try to set a ringtone with stock file manager freezed, I can't. When I click on the option to set ringtone, it simply doesn't open.
Is there a way to bypass the need of stock file manager and use custom one?

Hello all,
I have tried MIUI latest version but it was a bit buggy so I'm back to stock JVH. I really liked DSP Manager in MIUI and would like to install it on my JVH stock ROM. I have tried to install stand alone .APK opens ok, but it's doing nothing while trying to change settings inside the APK.
Can somebody help me please?
Thank you!
I think, it only works with Stock Music App or MIUI Music App. Try one of those and report back.

Is there any working guide for I9000?
Thank you!
I think Gingerbread already has some sort of EQ support, try one of those apps in Market? It may not be exactly DSP Manager of MIUI but you may be able to achieve something similar.
Instructions - Root explorer (Requires root)
copy both the files to your SD Card (DSPmanager.apk and music.apk)
1.Load Root Explorer. Go into System -> apps
2.Scroll down till you see the music player.apk file.
3.Select and hold down until a pop up appears.
4.Select "Rename"". Add .bak to the file, so it reads music player.apk.bak.
5.Select the file again as above, but now select move.
6.Press the back key until you go back to the system root (/) and then go go the SDcard folder.
7.Select Paste. You now have your original player backed up and safe if you wish to revert.
8.Now install the Music.apk.
9.Now install DSPmanager.apk.
View attachment DSPManager.apk
View attachment Music.apk
this guide is for sgs2 however try it,in theory it should work equally!!!!

Anyone tried if this works?
I was able to root my phone with the program above and i can see an icon of Super User in my screen but even like this i cant change the bootanimation of the device.
When i open the media folder where is the original bootanimatio the permission is only READ.
what file manager are you using?
you can use es fileexplorer from the market(free) than enable R/W so you can replace your bootanimation
Im using File Manager from Rythm.
Using a different File manager would change that? Strange but i will try
Problem solved with ES Explorer.
You can put the boot animation in /data/local anyway, so you don't remove your 'built in' one.

Hi, would anyone please share the secret of how to add custom sound files as ringtones and notification sounds? In CM7 it was easy, place them in sdcard/ringtones or sdcard/notifications and I was able to choose my own sounds from the lists.
With CM10 this doesn't work anymore. I cannot see my own added sound files. I tried
Code:
storage/sdcard0/notifications
storage/sdcard0/media/audio/notifications
storage/sdcard1/notifications
storage/sdcard1/media/audio/notifications
And the same with. /ringtones directories as well. No sound file was detected. So how can I play my own song when someone calls or play my own short sound when I receive a text message?
Just use a file manager to copy the sounds to system/media/audio/notifications or .../rintones. Check the permissions and reboot.
After the reboot, you can pick your custom sounds in the sound options.
Please note: You have to do this again after EVERY cm update (new nightly)!
If your file manager says your internal memory is full, just delete some of the rintones you don't like... Honestly, most of them are annoying crap.

Seriously? this is your advice?
Sometimes it hack of nut job if don't have faster internet connection or file manger to install your favorite apps or bit headache to install every time you flash stock rom or custom distally specially on stock in which not having a file manger or gallery app or even build in video player dissent l doesn't support all media types in marshmallow or outdated whatsapp that after installing stock asks you to update it
How to get it work ??
Just simply copy in root file manger or es file explorer every desirable app ( for me MX player for videos ; es explorer and a costom gallery app not having in marshmallow )
And then open
Root/OEM/app
Then it paste it there
Boom now get those pre installed on all ROMs and OTA'S
P.S
Paste the latest version of whatsapp and after installing the ROM no more updating to use it
Bonus
Copy your fav Wallpaper and rename it to " default_wallpaper" and paste it to
Root/OEM/media/
Same goes for notification and ringtone
Just rename yours to the file name given in
"Ringtone" and "Notification" folder and paste it there to replace the stock
Hit thanks if u like it [emoji13]
