In-screen Finger Print reader Problem in Roms, reason!!!! - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

Hi, I recently noticed that the customs Roms have the problem with In-screen finger print reader.
The cause of the problem is that the customs roms shines the fingerprint with light level equal to the brightness level on the device making the reader really bad with low brightness settings and normal with brightness at full , (you could try it yourself for proofs ) , the original firmware by Xiaomi doesnt have the problem because the light shining on the sensor in stock rom was at full power even when the brighntess was at low (i notice because I work in a dark lab and when i change the rom the finger print light was dimmer).
If any rom developer read this, please, correct this on your rom , we all would be gratefull

I can't adjust the brightness anymore

Hello,
I made a factory reset using the privacy setting...
And since then, the brightness setting is grey and i can't adjust it.
Why ? What can I do to get this back to normal ?
Thanks.
The light sensor doesn't appear when using Sensor Test app...
Is it dead ?
Brand new optimus is already dead... great.
Hmmm... So you haven't rooted? In that case try to do a factory reset again and if that doesn't work then you I think you should return it to LG.
I don't know what happened, but now I can adjust it again...
BUT, when I select "Auto Brightness", the screen brightness never changes, even when I'm in a dark room...
Also, I still don't see any "light sensor" on the Sensor Test app...
Can you tell me if you see a light sensor on your optimus 2X in Sensor Test app ?
I'm gonna call LG I think... what a shame.
Hmm do you mean this? I can adjust screen brightness normally...
Thanks !
I have all the sensors but no light sensor appears.
It seems the light sensor of my Optimus 2X is already dead !!
I'm gonna call LG... 1 day of use, and already dead. Damn !
Do you use a custom ROM?
The auto brightness isn't working for me on the Cyanogenmod ROM.
I'm not but the previous owner of the phone might have used a cyanogen mod...
Because the system IMEI was different from the one on the sticker behind the battery !
Now it's running V10B stock rom but the light sensor is not detected... It's either dead or it's a firmware problem. I don't know !
For me auto-brightness it´s ok but I can´t change the values with MIUI. All of them are to -1.

[Q] Automatic brightness not working after installing CM11

Hi,
After I installed KitKat with Cyanogenmod 11 on my Samsung S3 Mini the Automatic Brightness function stopped working.
I read all the posts regarding light sensor on this issue (for S3 Mini) and found opinions vary between "no light sensor at all", "light sensor combined with proximity sensor", "light sensor exists but obscured by hardware", "light sensor disabled in kernel"...
My questions:
Did anyone manage to activate the light sensor on CM11? Is there some change I can do in the kernel to activate it?
I also tried to test for the light sensor with *#7353#, but all I get is a message saying "MMI complete" but it didn't work. Does that work only on the custom ROM? Is there a way to do this test on CM11 ROM?
If there is no light sensor then how did the Automatic Brightness function work on the custom ROM? (and I think I remember noticing the brightness changing automatically at different light levels, but I'm not 100% sure).
Many thanks!
SIII mini doesn't have a light sensor so obviously it's not working. That's all.

If that's true, then how come automatic brightness was working with the stock ROM?
Is it possible that the stock ROM was using the camera for it?
(I wrote before: "If there is no light sensor then how did the Automatic Brightness function work on the custom ROM? (and I think I remember noticing the brightness changing automatically at different light levels, but I'm not 100% sure)." I meant STOCK ROM not custom ROM).

Huh? Previously my SIII Mini I8190N doesn't have such automatic brightness selection on stock 4.1.2. Probably you have installed a mod and let the camera determine the lightning conditions?
I can confirm, as far as I know, that there is no ambient light sensor on S3 mini, so the automatic brightness on custom rom doesn't work on our device.
Install Lux app which uses the front camera to estimate incoming light to auto adjust screen brightness.

I'm 100% sure I was able to select automatic brightness on the stock ROM. Maybe it didn't actually do anything, but it was possible to enable it...
Anyway, obviously changing the brightness level manually would be less battery-consuming, but assuming that I'm lazy and will keep it on relatively high settings, would I be saving battery life if I use the front camera for it, or would using it will actually consume more than I'm saving?
Cheers!

Lux can be triggered only when you wake up the phone so it can adjust the brightness. Usually my screen don't go beyond 20-40% when i'm indoor, In my opinion you'll drain your battery way faster with your display set to a fixed high setting.
@solution
You can easily try with Lux Auto Brightness an app witch uses the camera instead of light sensors it changes the brightness every time screen turns on

Most definitely not.

Questions: fingeprint scanner and firmware version

I'm happy user of 4x for a few days. Currently I am on LineageOS 15.1, treble version. I have some noob questions - I tried searching for answers but couldn't find ones that satisfied me.
1. Can I disable fingerprint scanner or prevent touching it from waking phone? (except putting tape on it)
2. How to check firmware version? Which version is the best?
3. On the box of my 4x there is a date 2017.10 - does my phone have rgb LED or white one?
4. Do you guys also have some strange touchscreen issues, like when scrolling trough a page, phone reads swiping as tap+swiping or hold+swiping? Sometimes it just marks some text or redirects me to another page in chrome (If I swipe by putting my finger on text or link). Also, what's stranger - when I put my phone on desk or another flat surface - I can't pull down notification bar. When I take phone in my hand - it works fine...
5. Is there a way to increase vibration strenght? I already made it 100% via Kernel Adiutor, but can it get even stronger? Sometimes I just do not even feel it in my pocket. Or maybe there is a ROM with option to make custom vibration pattern for every app?
I hope you guys can help me.
1. Turn of lock screen, your device will not wake by fingerprint scanner touch unless you click power button or volume rocker buttons (if it's has been set to wake device) i am using DOT OS 2.4 and it's working fine.
Don't put tape??
2. Don't about firmware.
3.try using apps like light manager or some other apps to check RGB lights but it must needs to be enabled in ROM if it isnt then it wont will work.
You'll also see different colors depending upon battery percentage while when charging your device.
like I have said to you in your another thread early production redmi 4x has RGB LED notification lights and later after they started giving only white light (as per I saw many users reporting that they are getting only white LED)
RGB lights are turned on by default in RR,DOT OS,MIUI PRO, XIAOMI EU,HAVOC OS, I have tried all of them and my device has RGB lights.
My device was purchased in MAY 2017 and model is MAI 132 just in case if you need information about it.
4.no touch issues on custom ROM but on MIUI(all versions) sometimes on charging I face touch issues.
5.dont know how to increase vibration intensity but check if there any root app available to do this.

Thanks for interest. On LOS 15.1 when I disable lockscreen (going straight to desktop after wake), fingerprint scanner still wakes my device. It seems I will have to test other ROMs.

It shouldn't have wake device, maybe its ROM dependent.
If you get any solution let us know if any case looking for the same, it'll help ?

I have no fingerprints added.
Try LOS 16 with firmware v042

Fingerprint AOD

Is it possible to remove fingerprint from aod on p30 pro without removing fingerprint sign in? I can't find settings for it...
I don't know about yours, but mine isn't there until I pick up the phone or touch the screen?
If you want to completely remove it then you can't - the way the finger print sensor works requires the screen to light up at max brightness under your finger so it can capture the fingerprint with the optical sensor.
Watch the 'JerryRigEverything' YouTube teardown to find out more info on how it works, but when scanning for a fingerprint it needs the illumination

I was wondering this too as I'm starting to get slight screen burn from a combination of that and the intense light required to unlock. My S10+ has an option to turn it off, and muscle memory dictates that it isn't really necessary after a few days of use.

As I said above, the reason for the intense light is that it uses and optical sensor rather than an ultrasonic sensor (as used in the S10+). Without the light it simply will not be able to see fingerprints.

I understand that but I'd like to at least be able to turn off the fingerprint indicator. I hold my phone in my hand most of the day so it's a bit annoying that it pops up every time you move the phone. You can switch off this indicator on the S10 and it has nothing to do with the technology - it's just a guide.

Phone won't auto-rotate (doesn't seem like any G sensors are working at all)

So I flashed the latest global rom (stable) after playing around with the android 10 beta 3 for a few days, and now none of the motion sensors are working at all.
My bootloader is still un-locked, I've made sure to move every setting related to auto-rotate and nothing seems to work. (the phone won't even light up the finger print sensor when I pick the phone up, but it does light up after I touch the sensor)
I also tried the "CIT" menu, by spaming on the Kernel version on the settings, and the X, Y, Z values don't even show up for the magnetic sensor, gyroscope or the accelerometer.
Anyone have any idea how to fix this? Any feedback would be welcome, thanks in advance!
