mixer_paths.xml [/system/etc] is not found in lg v40 - LG V40 Questions & Answers

Hi, how can I alter the sound of the headphones on my LG V40?
I have followed some tutorials or guides, but I can't find the file * mixer_paths.xml * in the path * / system / etc *, in order to modify the values.
How can I turn up the volume on this cell phone?
*I have my cell phone * root, unlock bootloader and magisk *

hello, in the folder * / vendor / etc * you will find the files * mixer_paths.xml *.
but there are more than one, in my lg there are four, and I don't know which or which to modify or what values, since there is more than one file * mixer_paths.xml *
which are:
mixer_paths_i2s.xml
mixer_paths_qvr.xml
mixer_paths_skuk.xml
mixer_paths_tavil.xml

R3L3AS3DRoot Help

I tried using the R3L3AS3DRoot method under the Android Development subforum and I get to an initial point with this message.
==Bad Luck, our Rush did not succeed.
Then it proceeds to install busybox, su and superuser but fails with:
--remout failed, operation not permitted...
I clicked on USB debugging, I set to Charge only and I downloaded the latest Motorola drivers before starting. The phone has never been rooted and was upgraded normally to .893. I selected option 2.
I was trying to root just so I could just Titatium Backup. Even Titatium says it is not rooted. I cannot post under the development subforum because I am a new user so I am hoping someone sees this and familiar enough to point me in the right direction.

Have you tried option 1? I would try that. Then try to update back to 893
I started with option2 as I have never rooted and it said it would work on .893 update? I can give that a try but I would prefer to just go with a clean start with the .893 update. Am I doing something wrong?
are you on the .901 update?
As stated in the post, I am on .893. Thoughts?
It says you can do the root from the .893 but you are actually unable to do it. I had to root 3 and the easiest thing to do is option 1, then reupdate. Trust me there... It will save you a ton of time!
Will the update apply going forward or will I have to continue to always do manual updates. Thanks so much.
The .893 update will show up very soon as a OTA after you root your phone.
If you decide to do the .901, you will need to side load it. You should retain root after both. I did.
Wow, I never worked so hard to install a backup application. Anyway, I tried to go down the route for option 1 and it is sticking at "waiting for device." Above that it states to ensure you have installed the latest drivers which I did before starting. I waited about 5 minutes thinking it was really waiting for the device and not missing the drivers but nothing happened. What am I missing now?

Make sure USB debugging is checked. Did you reboot your PC after installing drivers? You can put phone into PC mode and make sure the drivers install, then put it back into charge only.
I've used it a few times and if there was an issue, it was me.
Check on USB debugging and check on reboot. I think I am going to find another tool. I believe I have followed the instructions correctly.
I am still open to other ideas.
you need the 901fix.zip file. You can find it in other forums. Extract in your pathsaver folder. When it sticks in AP fastboot mode, double click the fix file and your script should continue. Proceed to .896 update. I stopped and rooted there. Than bootstrapped into recovery, and flashed. 901 update. Now I'm rooted running Liberty (901 patch)

GCHiker, thanks for the reply. I was not trying to get ahead of the scheduled releases but if it helps to get it rooted I guess I should give it a try as nothing else is working. I really have two goals:
1) Acquire root to install Titanium so I can perform backups that allow experimenting with various applications.
2) Reinstall the stock modules either at the .886 or .893 release so that I can validate if the Bluetooth adapter was corrupted during an install/uninstall of personal assistant applications. That is the belief that a file has become corrupted and thus causing intermittent and unpredicted Bluetooth issues. Not sure it is the module but the developer is not having any reported problems with other customers.
I thought this would be a simple exercise but I guess it proves how hard Motorola goes to lock their devices.
I may give your option a try if I can at least get it rooted, backed-up and then downgrade to a lower release so that I can get back on the OTA path with a working Bluetooth adapter module. Maybe, I am asking for too much.
If you decide to go my route, look up P3Droid's "Bionic Path Saver 1-click method" (its anything but). Let me know if I can help.

just signed up to post that I had the same problem and found a solution.
I had the same problem, most walkthroughs are directing you as if you had .901 installed not .893. I never went to .901 and if you run runme.bat it doesnt correctly reinstall the root after going back to 5.5.893 WITH the root installed. Only brings you back to 5.5.893 without a root. no problem with just re running it again with the correct .bat file.
This guy has a great walkthrough, the long and short of it is you need to extract the RAR file to the directory you installed and instead of runme.bat use runmebbb.bat
(remove the quotes)
"droidforums.net/forum/droid-bionic-hacks/190331-getting-back-ota-upgrade-"path-retaining-root-901-installation. html"
I am up and running on .901 with root installed, took me a while though...make sure you install .893 then reboot, check to make sure you are rooted and do a titanium backup, and then re enter recovery mode and install .901.
Hope it helped.
Success - Many thanks to those who pointed me in the right direction!!
I used the instructions in this link and I was able to use the RSD Lite tool to complete the root successfully. As I said before, wow, what a lot of effort to simply install a tried and true backup application. However, 1000 thanks.
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/13105-a-easier-way-back-to-the-update-path/
I performed my first backup usuing Titanium last night but I am not sure I backed up my apps/settings to the card so I can copy the backup to my PC. So, more discovery is in order. Then on to freezing potentially. And finally trying to determine what screwed up the bluetooth adapter in the first place. I guess, as they say, take it a day at a time. I hope I have enough days ahead of me.
However, I am still confused about whether I need to do a nandroid backup of the ROM given that Titanium only backs up apps/settings? I guess the alternative is to go back to these forums, leverage the link above, and roll back to .886?

In this thread I would like to provide a list of tutorials for installing Viper4Android on L90 in different configurations and different scenarios. I decided to do that cause installing Viper4Android since Lollipop has become much harder for average users. This particular thread will work very simple. In here users will be allowed only to post complete tutorials with (for example) instructions how to install Viper4Android or recommended settings configuration. Q&A will be taking place in separate thread. I will also provide a recommended template for users so every instruction looked similar and friendly.

Hi, thanks for posting your guide. I have a few questions if it's okay.
1. Where is the stock boot image backed up to?
2. If I needed to undo everything this guide achieves (e.g. for warranty or selling), would I...
A. Uninstall all Magisk modules that I may have installed, then remove Magisk using Magisk Manager, then uninstall Magisk Manager
B. Restore the backed up boot image. (I'm not sure how to do that but can probably find out how to do it using adb)
C. Relock the bootloader.
3. Can I let Magisk Manager update Magisk and update Magisk Manager? The tip about how I can replace Magisk files and the risk of bricking make me think that maybe I can't.
4. Because you're thanking @mauronofrio for his unofficial twrp, does that mean this replaces the stock recovery with that twrp?
Thank you!

I have Java installed and downloaded the magisk jar and for the life of me I can't get it to work not by double clicking not by running as administrator nothing I can't get Java to pop up so I can put in the command. And I tried using the other method with adb and fastboot. I keep getting error that directory doesn't exist. I think I'm stuck with boring stock at least I got unlocked LOL oh well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
