Move Apps to SD Card - Honor 5C Questions & Answers

Is there a way to force move apps to the SD-card. In Debug Mode it isn't possible to tick the "Force allow apps on external storage", it remains greyed out.
Anyone has an idea on how to do it? The phone has only 16GB internal, which limits it a lot.

How to SD swap and get SD card access?

I am currently on CyanogenMod12.1(Stable Release 2). By default it stores everything in internal memory. I want to get full access to sd along with installing apps to sd. Can anyone help?
i'm having a similar issue, i'm using cyanogen also, and when i try to move apps to my external sd instead of the "move app to sd memory" option it says "move app to usb storage" so i can't move my apps to my sd card :/

Adoptable Storage, one option greyed out...

Hey guys. To activate Adoptable Storage on the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser, I followed this guide:
https://www.asus.com/zentalk/in/thread-79993-1-1.html
After that, I was able to format the SanDisk SD Card. But only for APPS ???
What I mean is that there are 2 options.
First Option: "Use as an Internal Storage for apps only". This I am able to chose.
But the 2nd Option "Use as an internal storage for both apps and data" is greyed out...
So is this suppose to be like this?
Or is there something wrong?
Cause I can't add anymore media to my SD Card, the PC doesn't even see it.
tnx for help!

Cannot load modules because they are on the SD CARD

Whenever I try to download and activate modules that are downloaded from the XPOSED APP or online I get the message, "This module cannot be loaded because it's installed on the SD card, please move it to internal storage." I uninstalled everything and tried to download the XPOSED APK from my downloads WITH MY SD CARD REMOVED but my phone says there isn't enough storage even though I have 2GB + of storage open. I can only install modules from the Google Play Store that will actually activate and this is super frustrating.
I'm having the same issue... I do have my SD card set up as adoptable storage so maybe that's the issue here. Do you have adoptable storage set up? Can anyone make any suggestions?

It doesn't matter that you have 2GB of storage, xposed needs space in the system drive not data (storage)
Workaround this problem is:
Code:
Go to: Setting -> Apps & notification -> See all... (searching target module) -> Storage -> App info -> Storage -> Change -> Tap: Internal shared storage -> OK
I know that is old issue, but I have an old Samsung Galaxy S4, which I used for few reasons (removable battery, small screen, updatable to Android 10, NFC) and wondering if anyone knows does exist some Xposed module, which forces modules installations to internal memory, even if SD card is set up as adoptable storage?
It's annoying :crying: every time to repeat my above solution for each module separtely...

Is it possible for the note 8 without root to install/move games with APK to sd card?

Is there any way other than root to allow apps to be installed/moved on the sdcard with it's data folder? Or is that only something root can do?
And what about adoptable storage? Sdcards can be modified to trick the note 8 to use adoptable storage right? Can IT allow full games and not just apk's on it? If not, then what's the purpose of adoptable storage?
And if i want to upgrade the sdcard to a twice as big one, do i then have to format the phone? or can i copy the data on the sd through the phone's usb to my pc, enable adoptable on the new and move the stuff back and then format the old for a different device?
Settings > Apps > app/game you want moving > Storage > Change > External
That's not what i need. That way just moves the apk, not it's data which i need.
Strange. It moves both for me.
Have you tried manually moving the data folder yourself?
@Mr.Ash.Man (apparently i can't press "add a comment" as it just disappears with nothing else happening when i click it) I tried some years ago, but then just got the error that the data files are missing.
You can also go into the Developer Menu and turn on the setting to force apps to be able to move to SD. I've done this previously and found that about 80% of my apps were moved but a majority of the data files were still stored on the internal memory.
Yep, last time i tried, the app complained about missing data.
Basically, if the App supports moving the data to the SD card, then it will do so automatically when you move the apk to the SD card. But keep in mind not all apps support this, so it may be a problem with the apps you are trying to move.
Yeah, it's the majority of the data i need to move. The apk's themself barely take up anything.
@cmwade77 , Yeah, 90% of the games i tried to move only moved the apk, not it's data. So apparently root is my only option which i don't like as 1: warranty gone, 2: requires me to wipe the phone.
The poster question is yet not answered.
Is it possible to have the sd card formatted as an adoptable storage?
adb sm partition did not work as on note 4/s7.

Go to settings, apps & notificationsp
Find and select the app you want to move
Select Storage
Select the SD you want
This only works if the app allows to move to SD, if the app doesn't show the storage option you need to root
Make sure the Developers option is turned on. Then go to the bottom section "Apps" of the Developers options. There is a choice to "Force allow apps to external". Turn that on and then under settings, then apps, then storage, it will allow you move many of the apps to the external SD card.
