Spen on UI 2.0 problem - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Before my Note updated on UI 2, SPen had handwriting recognition when you hover over a text field and tap on the floating T that appears. Now I don't have that option and as I like to use ai.keyboard now I can't use handwriting on that keyboard.
Any solutions?

This was a feature that I used a lot as well. It was very useful to seamlessly go from typing in English to handwriting in Japanese. Hopefully there is a way to get it back.

Finger Friendly Texting?

Hello
does anyone know of a cab (preferably free) that I can add so when I text someone from my contact list or just text in general, there is a more finger friendly keyboard that comes up? It sucks having to use a stylus all the time if I want to use the touch screen.
or better yet, has anyone heard of a speech recognition software that lets you speak your message and have it converted to text?
Thanks
Adam
The Diamond Keyboard is quite nice, has 2 QWERTY's and a regular numeric keypad.

lol, so true, cant get any easier.
Wow...as helpful as the last few posts were...
It sounds almost as if the OP wants a one-handed keyboard.
The Diamond keyboard is pretty nice, but my personal favorite is TouchPal.

QWERTY and extended keyboard formats are included and it has a great amount of options and error correction. It even allows you to adjust the size on the screen.
Resco
Resco has a nice keyboard that is easy to use if you select the iphone keyboard. It's the easiest I have found anyway.

Use better keyboard on nexus one

Is there a way to use the better keyboard on the nexus? i installed it but still uses the default one
Yes, open the keyboard and hold the 123 keys till input method wording show. Then you can choose better keyboard as the default.
I installed Smart Keyboard Pro. To use I had to enable it in Settings > Language & Keyboard.
But I can only use it in html forms by long pressing a form field, selecting "input method" and than choosing it. The whole process makes smart keyboard pretty much useless...
Please, let me know If you can successfully enable better keyboard and overcome this problem somehow...
Regards,
Thiago Souza

The Beta worked for about 14 days, and then the phone started doing some random hangs. and after not being able to type anything in a SMS i changed the keyboard back, and my phone is now normal.
Cool keyboard, but might cause problems....
when the beta stops working you might want to try Perfect Keyboard, and Smart keyboard, they have similar options, except importing SMS into dictionary.
Thanks for it
I will try and see

Go Keyboard problems
1. I use the speech recognition a lot. When I set the Voice Key to 'On main keyboard' I loose the Comma key.
Is there any way I can get both the voice key and the comma key on the main screen?
2. When I use the voice recognition (the Voice Recognition is great, 90% or better) but if I try to edit the phrase it shows because a letter is incorrect. I put the cursor to the right of the letter and hit backspace or space and it pastes the whole phrase in again in the middle of the phrase I am trying to edit. Any idea how to avoid this?
I really like Go Keyboard, but these 2 things are driving me nuts.
Regards,
Mark
I cant seem to be getting the T9 on the messaging. As soon as i click on the msg body , the t9 button just disaapears.. it appears on when I am adding a contact name... any clue on how to fix this ?

[Q] Using S-Pen in a browser?

Can I use S-pen to write URL or search terms in Google, for example?
Only if you enable handwriting recognition in the stock keyboard. You can't write directly in the address or search bar if that's what you mean.

Thanks..I wonder if in ICS handwriting will be able to do that? (write directly on the page.)
The title of this thread made me think... the S-pen could allow the use of a proper hover and click UI if a browser supported it. How great would that be? I know Opera supports this with trackballs/pads and mice... anyway just thinking out loud.
or you can
i don't have handwriting whenever pen is detected enabled on my phone. but i still use pen in search and any where keypad can be used. every time the stock keyboard is displayed, it has a key that has a capital T with a little pen beside it. just click that and the handwriting pad will pop up. to return to keypad there is a icon of a keyboard on the top row of that window to return to keypad.
The T option is that with using the Default Samsung keyboard?

I'm still running Lollipop, however, maybe the the swipe option isn't selected.
In Settings-- Language and Input-- Samsung Keyboard-- Keyboard Swipe, then select 'continuous input'
option for turning on the continuous input and swipe is not showing here. so i am unable to do it

My brother picked up the S7 on US Cellular and he says Samsung's swipe is not a choice under keyboard settings. I think it's a regional thing like being able to have punctuation marks on the main keyboard for long press.
