My Pixel 4 XL has been acting since it froze and I had to force restart it. It was froze on the aod with a static looking block in the corner. After the reboot that seemed normal here's what's wrong:
-home button and app switch don't work, only back
-notifications ding but don't show and pulldown doesn't pull the second time.
-theres things missing from settings especially what is Google related
-assistant is broken
-calling and data are not working but have signal bars, rcs messages are working, haven't tested regular sms.
Currently I'm waiting on things to backup, I have disabled all tweaks I have and even pushed the Feb full ota from the computer, completed successfully but still the same issue.
Going to try pushing the regular firmware without wipe to see if that fixes anything before doing a factory reset.

It's a known issue since nougat (at least, maybe even prior to that), where the phone thinks the initial setup wasn't completed.
There's an article here that explains how to fix this with 2 adb commands. After that it should prompt you the setup again, or it just fixes itself, I don't remember exactly.

I'd assume using a terminal app, because there was no connection to the computer and dev options were missing.
I'd delete your cache and see if that does it, if not a full image with the wipe removed should bring it up just fine although you'll have to root again after.

After updating to FRF91, I notice two things.
1) My phone froze at least 3 times since the update when I tried to make a phone call. I had to remove the battery and restart it.
2) My calls are now less clear even with my blue-tooth. When I call someone, they and I will hear static. Sometimes the static is really bad. (no, I am not holding it the wrong way )
Anyone have similar issues?
My Nexus One is NOT rooted.
stock 2.1 to FRF50(manual install)->FRF83(manual install)->FRF91(OTA install)
No issues here. Clean install.
I would agree it seems buggy to me also; it could be the manual update path of updating, but im def getting some wonkyness.
When im on edge at my house, it always seems like WIFI is on demand and not connected (This differs from what my phone used to do and i also have wifi to never sleep); so when i try to access something intially i get a network error then the Wifi connects; then i connect even though im on edge which used to connect albeit slow.
A slight jerkiness when I longpress to remove widgets; don't remember that one previously.
Very erratic battery life; seems to be due to network switching from 3g to edge to wifi; can't really confirm that though; not real rogue apps on my device that are running, but who knows.
Car dock has been giving some force close issues from time to time which didn't really occur previously.
FRF83 more stable
I was thinking of trying to go back to FRF83 as that seems more stable.
I will first try to do a factory reset and see what happens after that.

let me know how that works out; I may do the same. Maybe go back and ota update.
I applied the full FRF85B when I did mine, and wiped cache / format user data from the boot loader. That cleared up issues.
gmail stopped working properly for me.
I have had some issues with my phone freezing up too but my trackball would still flash when i got alerts. I think it might be related to trackball alert because now that I have uninstalled it i haven't gotten any freezes.
I did the factory reset and I no longer have any problems. I am still waiting to see if my dialing still freezes randomly though.

I'm still on frf83 and found that flashing the frf91 gapps has somewhat reduced the freezes/reboots.
My XDA app freezes for a couple of seconds before it responds. Is this app up to date for frf91?

1. Going into Gmail it takes forever to display emails (usually shows the "loading icon" for 10-20 seconds) as if it is only then connecting to the server and downloading new/old emails.
2. Caller ID still does not keep settings when rebooting.
3. Task Managers don't actually seem to kill tasks anymore. Have tried multiple with settings to auto-kill 10 minutes after the screen goes off ... 5 hours later the programs are still running. Obviously just KILLS battery life.

Yeah, obviously, you're using auto-kill, it probably tries over and over and over when they don't actually close.
Stop using auto-kill. Even if it worked you will get less battery life by killing tasks. Read up about it. Only reason to EVER kill something is if it isn't acting nicely and has a bug that keeps using CPU or keeps the phone awake.
Factory Reset works almost all the time
If you got problems after update you should allways wipe (factory reset)
It worked when I first booted up. After a few hours it quit. I did a factory reset, and the same thing happened. I then went through my running apps and turned them off until none were running except the system apps. Still didn't work.
Anyone else have this happen that can suggest a fix? If I have to reset and install apps one by one, how do I do that, since on signing into Google the apps auto load

To fix auto load, you can change the system setting to not backup apps; it's in Settings > Backup & reset. I thought upon initial Google account sign in you could switch that setting off too, and that prevents the apps from auto-installing. I have backup turned off because on previous devices and versions of Android it was contributing to battery drain.

I did what you suggested, adding single apps and confirming the ambient function worked. Found an app that seemed to be the cause, and upon uninstalling it the ambient function came on line. However, about a half hour later, it stopped working again. Spent over an hour on the phone with Moto, and they figured out that ambient doesn't respond unless the phone has been asleep more than 10 seconds. That seemed to work for me. So I did my 4th reset/install of the day, and again, it worked for a while, even with all my apps (including the one that seemed to be the cause in the first place). And then, it stopped again.
I searched, and one suggestion was that ambient won't work unless you have a locked screen. I usually don't use a lock, but what the hey, I'll try it. Set up a pattern unlock and (wait for it.........).
Nope.
I'm stumped.......
Mine seems to stop displaying the ambient as well. It will display a few times initially and then stops. I don't know if it extends its sleep period after every interval or not. Also seems like if you lift up your phone to look at your ambient notifications, that disables any repeat display too
Start from the beginning. Back a few weeks ago, when 4.1.5 was leaked but not officially announced, I downloaded 4.1.5 and flashed it through TWRP. Then 4.1.6 was released officially right after I've done my upgrading. So I CLEAN FLASHED 4.1.6 again on my phone.
Now the weird part: after 2 days of normal use (no flashing, no new apps installed), I left my phone charging today while went asleep. After I woke up, my phone is at 15% of battery. Although connect to the DASH charger, the phone doesn't charge at all with its LED showing red.
More weird is I can't open the notification center. I can pull the 5 toggles down, but can't open the whole menu.
Plus, notifications don't show up (no toast notification, no icons while in the homepage either).
My access to developer options is also blocked (says "Developer options is not available to this user").
The home button, recent apps button DOESN'T work - no matter if u switch the buttons in settings, or toggle the on-screen soft buttons. Although the "return" button and the fingerprint sensor DOES work.
Root access is still there (using Magisk).
While using TitaniumBackup, the app warns "This device's Android ID has changed". And a few apps have logged themselves out (I guess because of the ID change).
I think I can solve the problem by simply factory reset it. But Questions is : what's going on with my phone?
Its a common, not so common issue. I had exactly that same issue twice on two different fones. My old xperia L and my oneplus one. In my particular case, this was triggered when my settings were automatically restored from my google account (apps auto download, wifi settings, display settings etc.) After a factory reset.
After this, android id "crashes" showing that it has been changed, and statusbar only allows one pull down, along with the others bugs you described.
You should not allow google account to restore your settings (or at least that worked out for me) and restore manually your data. (Especially your display settings).
Hope it helps, i thought i was the only one.

Wow! I can't image someone had the same issue. So i actually re-flashed 4.1.6 and it's working.
But the charging problem persists. I've tried multiple power sources from the room, the kitchen, etc. None seem to be working.
Strangely, I was able to charge the device once a few hours ago at evening. And then it stopped charging again after I got the system working.
Any idea?
I know there's got to be some setting turned on that is preventing me from toggling the apps in Device Administrator because whenever I go to it, I can see the full list, and when I attempt to toggle one of them on or off, settings crashes and locks the phone. I have two apps that have been toggled on, so somehow I was given the ability to do it before this hard to find setting was turned on preventing me from toggling any more apps....
Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

I was getting the exact same issue on my S8+ yesterday. Do you perhaps have the latest/beta version of Call Recorder by SKVALEX installed? With my issue at least, I think it was down to that app, well a conflict between the two versions I had on the phone. May have been coincidence and could have been unrelated of course but removing both (old and beta) then just installing the latest beta sorted the issue, or t least the issue went away at the same time...

Not, I don't have that app nor do I think this is AN app preventing me from adjusting Device Administrator toggles
I Had the same problem in my note 7, only thing I could do was a reset all app settings, that solved the issue
The last update had some issue and the device got into bootloop during restart. Hope this update does not have such issue. I had to check it manually yesterday.

I didn't had any issue with any of the previous updates (btw what update caused bootloop on your device? any problems with update could be caused by installed apps). Anyway, OOS12 has some quirks here and there but nothing serious. It's quite stable and suitable for daily usage.
I have installed it yesterday (version EB2103_11.C.05). After testing I can confirm that it is working very well, including 5G network. Also wifi networking is working without any problems.

Thanks.
It magically went back to the previous version after 3 reboots and several bootloops. No idea how it happened but it seems to be all fine.

It's because there are two slots A and B for this kind of thing, your actual OS boots from slot A, you download update & install it on slot B and if something goes wrong, device returns to boot from slot A.
What a wonderfull time to be alive

Hi, I have a model EB2103, and I want to know if this update is also for this model, if so, where can I download it?
I have the EB2103 version here and upgraded to Oos12. I deeply regret to have done it. The system is slow, ugly, and keeps resetting from nowhere. The fingerprint lock just fails much more and I miss a lot of features. The one a miss most is the hidden apps that I could easily access from apps, by swiping to right. This is gone and now I need to open the telephone app and type a PIN to see a little window will the hidden apps. Looking for a downgrade of my phone right now.
As I wrote here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/need-help-updating-my-oneplus-nord-ce-5g.4495611/
everything is fine with me, the system is running as like a Swiss watch.

I can definitely confirm that the update broke a lot of settings. For me it reset the battery and notification settings for several apps, for example AccuBattery. The apps notification icon does not show up in the top anymore and I think this is the case for every non-system app right now. I am using Nova Launcher and had to do quite a rework of my theming. Colors of the clock widget changed to a cyan, which looked awefull and the google calendar app widget went pale. I also had to remove apps that I previously deactivated.
All in all a horrible update that destroyed my theming and installed a bunch of stuff I did not ask for.
Looking forward to the end of warranty next year to root and remove the OS for something cleaner. Guess this will be the only OnePlus in my posession.
EDIT: I figured out why in my case the notification icons disappeared. I've set "don't disturb" and all the notification icons disappeared, as is with the notification icon of AccuBattery, which is a silent notification. So not only does the system not display a notification in silent mode (which is ok) it also disables the icon in the top banner for some reason. Does anybody know how to disable that behaviour and have it like before, where notifications are silent, but their icons appear in the top banner?
EDIT2: Got the AccuBattery icon working by holding the finger onto the silent notification in the pull-down and then set the notification to "important".

I didn't find out the best way to do it. It looks like MSM Download Tool is the way, but my drivers are still not working as should recognize the phone... I almost bricked the phone 'cause I started flashing it and the phone just reset in the middle of the process.
After a few days, I also noticed that the fingerprint sensor reacts really slow.
Today I printed a document and the print job just crashed after successfully sending the document to the printer.
To top it off, my Moto 360 3rd Gen battery life went from 1.5 days to just under 6 hours.

Try to re-register your fingerprints, this should work.
Did you try to print another document to reproduce the error?
To avoid battery problems on your smartwatch, you could try to allow only apps sending notification, that you need (i.e. Whatsapp, Instagram, Telegram etc.). I assume, that every app send notifications to your smartwatch atm

Thanks for the suggestions, I will try to look at the app rights management again, but I already restricted a lot of stuff and the point is, that before the update, everything just worked a lot better. It is a disappointing update overall that causes a lot of unnecessary problems.
I could not get root to work after the update since the TWRP image was not bootable anymore (flashing it caused the phone only to boot to fastboot). I got the phone working again by factory reset. If anyone knows a solution it would be highly appreciated.
By far the best update to Android on this phone. 11 was just abysmal compared to this.
It runs extremely smooth with no stutters. Everything opens up very quickly etc.
The battery time is, at the same time, clearly better.
It looks much cleaner.
And the functionality is mostly for the better too!
It's been a long time since I have been this positivley surprised by an android update!
No problems when updating, everything worked and missed nothing important after the update.
It's a 100% worth it!
Installed recently and breaks termux with phantom process 32. If you use termux and any of its plugins, this will certainly break it.
