After activating Edxposed in Magisk wifi unable to obtain ip address - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

I am using rIN k20 pro android 9.0, rooted with magisk and using edxposed yafha everything is working great except wifi. It is always stucked at obtaining ip address. It works great if i disable edxposed yafha module. I have tried every possible solution available on internet.
Chngd wifi ..used static n all nothing worked for me..kindly help

this is the reason i do not use exposed on any rom. As far back as i can remember in my htc desire days xposed has always caused some ind of issue somewhere in making the system unstable.

yeah, edxoposed just messes things up. You may have disabled it, or uninstalled it, but I assume residual files still are in place, you can try formatting your phone or just clean flashing again and not get edxposed. (idk maybe someone else knows a better way)

Cellular DNS Issue after update

Hi guys,
I have a OnePlus 3T.
So I updated to beta 17 to look at Oreo but found cellular data wouldn't connect, internet connection. I have 2 sim cards on different networks and neither worked. After playing around with the APN settings, googling and trying a few things I came to the conclusion that the DNS settings were wrong and if I used an app called DNS Changer which runs as a VPN with Google DNS settings I would be able to access the Internet again. WiFi works perfectly without the need for the app.
Anyway, I didn't like that idea so I went back to the stable Oxygen OS 7.1.1 that's on the OnePlus website and I'm still having the same issues.
I know if I root my phone I can manually change the dns for cellular in a file on root but I don't want to root my phone because my NFC banking apps won't work. Is there another way to fix this? Have I installed the incorrect version on the ROM from OnePlus? Stupid me didn't back up.
I live in Australia and am connected with Virgin Mobile (RSP Optus) and second sim is Telstra.
Rooting with magisk is not a problem. You can access banking apps with magisk. Read the thread of magisk.
Moreover after rooting you can customize so many things, No need to explain...........
Hey,
If you don't want to root your device, you can do a clean flash of OB17. This may fix your DNS issue.
Have you tried using your SIM in another device?, to see if it's a carrier compatibility issue with your phone.
On a different subject, you should try Magisk, which roots your device systemlessly, that is installing root without affecting the /system partition.
Magisk 14.0 Stable : https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
Magisk 14.3 Beta : https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/beta-magisk-v13-0-0980cb6-t3618589
Magisk does not work on the 3T Open Beta 17 as of yet, but the developer, topjohnwu, is working on it (https://twitter.com/topjohnwu/status/925732785821704192)
You can also use Modules which add more features, so try using Magisk for your banking apps. I can confirm that Android Pay works.
Cheers!
Thanks for your help guys... Yeah I did a clean install of both B17 and 7.1.1 and this is where I got the issues... I will try magisk tonight and let you know. I have rooted my phones in the past but I have been using NFC payments on my phone so much it's one thing I don't want to loose. I don't take a wallet out anymore

Magisk 19.3 sometimes works, sometimes not but 18.1 works

Hi,
As mentioned above, with magisk 19, I have an app called fave. It sometimes detects my phone has root and prevents usage, but sometimes not and I can use it.
I tried to determine when that happens but it seems a bit random. Google pay works though. But a number of other apps also detect root and can't work.
If I downgrade to 18.1, fave works but other apps mentioned above still can't work. Also google pay can't work.
So what's the problem? Does it have to do with the custom rom? I'm using RR 7 (android 9). Will it help if I change to LineageOS instead?
FYI, I tried most of the steps mentioned here:
https://www.didgeridoohan.com/magisk/MagiskHide#hn_Hiding_root_from_apps
Thanks.
Same issue here, sometimes, I'm running Magisk on a stock Samsung Marshmallow ROM with a SafetyNet kernel. Maybe you just need to switch Magisk Hide off then on again. For some reason it has a tendency to stop running. And make sure you don't have something like Xposed installed, Magisk can't hide that.

Bootloop/Magisk/Xposed

So... I have an interesting situation here
So I have the 1TB Rog Phone 2 WW model. I went through the process of installing magisk, everything worked fine. I installed edXposed as my xposed solution, installing the required magisk modules which also seemed to work just fine. At some point, I would swear the last change I made was to edXposed which caused a bootloop scenario, possibly a module, I wasn't able to isolate the specific cause. However given the nature of the issue, I haven't ruled out some conflicting magisk module as the culprit. I used the fix bootloop recovery option in TWRP (probably a mistake), which did allow me to boot back into the system, but it disabled magisk. Reinstalling magisk causes the boot loop.
And here I am.
Flashing magisk will fully prevent the system from booting normally. I can no longer root it using magisk without it bootlooping.
"did you remove the offending modules"
Well, I used two guides which basically walk you through the magisk recovery manager, adb alternative, and list module paths, (since I can't post the actual links)
to no avail. The magisk recovery manager failed to install and I was unable to locate any modules in any of the specified paths
(/data/media/mm and /sdcard/mm (I am concerned I do not have the correct module path, but the recovery manager also fails to install, so I'm not necessarily sure what is going on other than it can't find any modules either).
Now yes, I do realize I can flash the stock firmware and start again, but this can be a pain in the neck (I assume the VoLTE trick doesn't survive that process not that its a super difficult process), and ideally I'd rather learn more about the system because that was the point of all this.
If anyone has any input or direction as to an alternative solution to a full on factory restore, I would be most humbly appreciative. I like tinkering with my devices, and this seems like something that can be repeated pretty easily, so I'd like to be better prepared.
Hi , sorry if i can't help you.. since i was also having the same problem although not using any modules from xposed.
flashing magisk via twrp or using patched.img will always yield to bootlop but flashing stock.img will fix it.. but ofcourse we want to root but can't seem to pass this barrier..
i hope someone could help and tell us why is this happening

banking app detecting root

I got a new banking app today that detects root, its https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=no.vipps.bankid
no problem with the Swedish bankid or other Norwegian banking apps. google pay/wallet works.
I tried blocking it in magisk block list. then with Shamiko, I'm afraid to test too many thing since google wallet is working now.
Try this modified USNF module. The issue you may be having is the new Play Integrity API.
I tried the previous version and now this one, still the same. I'm in no hurry to fix it, all other stuff work and the old bankid solution works 2 more years I think (hope)
I'm in your exact same position.
I have the MagiskHide module and used the DenyList, I also tried Shamiko, no luck for this app.
I tried the modified USNF module and no luck either.
I have several other apps where the above methods to avoid detection are working without problems, but not this one.
In the same boat as you guys. Also tried the modified magisk delta project with the old magisk hide, no luck.
Where is this?
SafetyNet is good, all other banking-and wallet-apps is working. RootBeer is not detecting root.
Oneplus 7t pro, stock latest stable rom. Magisk delta. Hide root from all apps. Renamed magisk app.
same problem here. tried everything i could find and no luck. might be a DRM problem? because 1 other issue i cant fix is apps like Netflix and prime video which are currently unusable because of DRM.
My app was updated today, and immidiatly after the update I tried activating/logging in, and to my surprise it worked. There is a one hour grace/waiting period to activate, and I'm currently waiting for that.
If it is not working after the wait, I will update this post. So if no update, it is working.
See my previous post in this thread about my setup.

same for me. so its probably okay for everyone for now. disable auto update on it now hahaha and lets hope it stays that way.
Can confirm, it works now without any change to Magisk or other modules.
I waited the 1h period and after that I was able to activate it and use it to login.
I am using Shamiko and a modified USNF module, but probably are not required.
Great to know that it's working now. But, for next time i can give u guyz some more option to keep in mind:
**renaming/deleting the "twrp/fox" folder of the recovery, deleting all files related to magisk or xposed. Also, hiding developer mode option by "devoptshide" from lsposed. **

Question Phone keeps freezing

Hi guys
After unlocking bootloader and installing the EU rom as I did previously I now seem to have a constant freezing issue where I have to keep rebooting the phone. Sometimes it works and sometimes you open a app and you just get a blank white screen just sitting there. The only thing different I have to to previously is use magisk delta rather than the normal magisk.
Anyone else having this issue?
Regards
Probably caused by magisk/modules . Try different magisk or without magisk.

No modules installed. Magisk used to be good but now it's a ****show where they changed the zygisk something where unless it's enabled you cant hide apps which then defeats the purpose of using banking apps as it's det xted some bull along those lines hence wanted to try delta magisk as it lets you also install and extract boot and root without using a pc. Much better at working than not al magisk.
I don't understand why good stuff has to go restarted rather than get easier and better.
Sorry I sound a bit frustrated as another issue I'm having is this bastard what's app migration of chats from iPhone to android. My gosh what a nightmare that is. Still haven't managed to transfer
