Not yet, but if you have an older phone it's the best for the price for sure
Enviado do meu MI 9 através do Tapatalk

I was thinking about, mainly for the better screen and battery. The mi 9's screen is very dim, even Samsung Galaxy AXXs are better, and the battery is just passable. But the price of the mi 10 seems too high.

well, with that around 600-700 bucks pricetag, i will say no...not even close for upgrade from Mi9 to a Mi 10, if you have a older than 2017 "flagship" phone, then i will say yes, for sure is a good update...but from Mi9 to Mi10, no, dont do that, is minimal updates, the bigger one is the cameras and battery, nothing much.
if you want a Mi10, wait like 3 to 4 months and you can buy it from 500, then, sure worth buying it for good.
My personal opinion having a Mi9, i wont update until 2023, only if they die on me, cause the phone is a beast, have everything i need, dont worry even in think of another phone while having this.
So, be aware, Mi 9 to a Mi 10 - DONT! - only if you have too much spare money, or dont know what to do about the money, just buy it.
If you dont have eighter Mi9 or Mi10, just buy the Mi 9, is cheaper, it cost even less than a samsung mid-range (like A70, around the same depending of where you buy it) and its a good phone, it will be "on top of the chain" for much time to come.

I agree with you. Mi9 is still on top, 855 is still fast enough for a couple of years, camera is still good if you use gcam. Mi10 is a beast and for sure is an improvement, but not enough for a new investment.
Also it has curved glass, which is still a no for me.

what's the point of having top hardware like ufs 3.0 and latest processor and gpu if you can't transfer data at high speeds over usb and mirror your screen via hdmi dongle?

They have to do something in order to lower the price....

I'm sure usb 2.0 lowers the price substancially.
if it were with 3.1 it would be like 1000$ more expensive.

Do you even know what a flagship is? [emoji14] By definition, flagship is the best thing owned or produced by a particular organization. So, what you say makes no sense. Oneplus makes what you call flagship phones without wireless charging, and that yes is a deal breaker for most of the people rather than what you say.

USB 2.0 is for the year 2000

Who cares about USB 3? What's the usecase? Music? There is streaming abd and if you play music from the internal memory, THATS the year 2000. Photos? Thats what cloud space is for. Videos? Cloud too. And if any of you clowns claim that you make videos for professional environment, get a DSR. Jesus, people are weird. I bet some of rhe guys complaining about USB 2.0 live in third world countries where they **** on **** on the streets but USB 2.0? That's impossible.

Usb 3.1 = hdmi output
Usb 3.1 = multi port dongles that transform your high end phone in a on the go computer
You wouldn't care about it only if you want to pay alot of money for facebook and instagram, not a top tier phone that can do anything.

Mi Note Pro 2

Android Pure put out a screenshot of ‘About Phone’ of the alleged Mi Note 2 Pro which is said to run Android Nougat out of the box. Leaks claim Mi Note 2 Pro will be the first Xiaomi smartphone to come with Android Nougat.
The screenshot reveals Mi Note 2 Pro will be powered by a quad-core (Snapdragon 821 rumoured) processor clocked at 2.6GHz. It is said to come with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Pro will run MIUI 8 with Android Nougat.
Who will be getting one?
I definitely will.

The screen is supposed to have curved edges, so that will be AMOLED since you can't bend IPS
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Then I would buy something else. Colors of modern art are more lovely on Amoled but I feel natural photos much more real on IPS
---------- Post added at 08:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:12 PM ----------
Plus I prefer small borders like on Nubia phones than curved edges
I prefer AMOLED over IPS as it has better battery life.
That's a good reason, also it provides battery friendly "always on notifications" which is quite nice.
Only thing I can see there's much less sub pixels, and maybe that's why I find amoled less true to life than IPS.
That would be great to have the choice between them but that would never happen, there's already so much different models.
After first mi note pro fail (flagship killer 2015 that had 0 android updates, rly?) I won't buy xiaomi. ever. For me Google pixels looks great + they will have newest soft and tons, just tons of developers working with them.
Miui 8 offers everything Google updates can offer (app permissions, data usage, etc...): which specific feature do you want?
My gut feel, it won't be Android 7 !
Any ATT users of the older Note, I have to admit the specs of the new model have me looking at what little info there is about it here in the US.
So did you guys buy Mi Note 2.
I personally bought OnePlus 3 and been on ported Miui 8 nearly all the way. I miss 5.7 inches and 2k a bit though.

Guys, we need help, bunch of people is working for enabling lte band 20 in xiaomi mi 5. All we need is some data, from xiaomi note 2 pro, so it would be wonderfull if somebody could do this. Check this link to topic I talked about http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/how-to/progress-trying-to-unlock-bands-t3337476/page51
If you want help, just say there, so people who are working on it would be notified, cause I don t know how to build that data.

MI MIX 2+ at the end of March?

Hi Guys, are You speaking about "Mi Mix 2 is the new Mi Mix"?
WRONG!
Mi Mix 2 is just a new version of Xiaomi Borderless smartphone.
At the end of march/first days of april, Xiaomi will have an event to show a new device:
XIAOMI MI MIX 2+ (Mi Mix 2 Plus)
same design of the Mi Mix2 but with 6,4" Oled display.
Other technical features:
94,3% display area
Qualcomm 945 (not confirmed)
8Gb ram
256Gb memory
MicroSD + Wireless Charge (we all hope....)
Miui 9 with Android Oreo
same NOT good camera like Mi Mix/Mi Mix 2 (but with 4k 60fps Video) :crying:

It's going to be the Mix 2S, not the Mix 2+. So it wasn't true. It's not going to be a 6,4inch screen.. This guy probably just summed up some specs he made up which seemed likely to happen in a newer model. (SD 945, really??)
wtf u can do with 8 gb ) ...maxim 6 gb is enough to make the rutine of the day. And second, version with 8 gb ram is not everywehere disponible. so guys, if u want more sofisticate, buy a laptop and when u want to go somewhere, throw it in ur asssss ))

He was just as accurate as most of the "leaks" on the tech websites when it comes to upcoming models. The fact that he did it a month after the original came out is quite commendable. Good for him. You need to chill.
Mix 2S made official today https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-launches-xiaomi-mi-mix-2s-qualcomm-snapdragon-845/
So which after seller usually has it first?
I wonder if it will be compliant with Project Treble
I that case may be it could be worth to change mimix2 to mimix2s....
I thought any phone that comes with Oreo is project treble by default?
Its a shame it only does 4k video recording at 30fps

Nope. Samsung videos are unbeatable according to reviewers. Photos might be better on the mi8.
It has a 105 dxomark for photo. Video dragged it down.
Also, techtablets made a video on the mi8 vs op6, the audio recording capabilities of the mi8 are very very bad (might be a software issue). You should check out that video.

You can't freeze the action using auto mode. Sometimes you get lucky. The auto mode of Huawei Mate 10 is quite good and the phone can take good action shots.
The reason why I didn't get this phone is I can't get K9 mail to work unless you use the global ROM. With the Mi 8, K9 works but only sometimes. It's a step up from my Mate 8 though except for the manual mode. Might have to use the global ROM too but unlocking the boot loader takes a long time!

The most expensive will be the explorers edition with a transparent back and an in-display fingerprint sensor, also with a smaller battery (3000mah).
I'm in HK and for me here the mi8 is a lot cheaper. You can just check their website and compare prices.
Mi 8 6gb + 128gb = HK$3,699
Mi mix 2s 6gb+ 128gb = HK$4,399
Mi mix 2s uses ceramic on the back I think that's why it's more expensive.
The explorers edition is not out yet so no prices on that.
The lowest end which is the mi8 se has an all together different design and a different chipset(snapdragon 710), first released on this phone itself.

They pop below the notch ( status bar ) like Heads Up notifications. And if you don't notice it, there is a white notification LED which blinks.
MIUI is completely adapted for the notch of the Mi 8 ( SE ) so you have no reason to worry about notifications.

I'd definitely recommend it if you find the Mi 8 for under 430 $ and the Mi 8 SE under 330 $. At those price points, these phones are the absolute best.
I have the Mi 8 SE and it's a god damn excellent device. The Snapdragon 710 is almost like a little brother to the SD835, nothing lags and everything flies. I can only guess how good the Mi 8 is to use.
For the camera, the AI mode is an amazing thing, at least for me.
If you're in the EU, I recommend buying both of them through Aliexpress. There are sellers who ship with DHL and even with it included in the price, they are far cheaper than in the EU. And you also don't need to pay for customs.
Mi 8 HERE
Mi 8 SE HERE
You can see in the pics that they mention " DHL no customs", meaning you have to select DHL as a shipping method and you won't need to pay for customs and bs of that kind.
But if you're too afraid of Aliexpress for some reason, you can always pay a bit more for them on Honorbuy.

Redmi K20 Pro Or Oneplus 7 ?

Hi everyone,
I want to buy a smartphone - but stuck between Op 7 or K20 pro ? Can't make my mind - which one should I buy ?
Any suggestion/ advice will be highly appreciated.
They are pretty similar. Run on the same platform, CPU, GPU. Both AMOLED, same resolution.
The K20pro / 9Tpro has an audio jack, OP7 does not.
OP7 has stereo speakers, K20p/9Tp does not.
The K20pro / 9Tpro has FM radio, OP7 does not.
I believe the OP7 has OIS on the main camera, K20pro/9Tpro does not.
The OP7 has a (small) notch in the screen. The K20pro/9Tpro has a popup front facing camera.
K20pro/9Tpro has a somewhat bigger battery.
For me personally, the popup cam is not a problem because I don't use face-unlock or take selfies, and having a full notch-less display is very nice.
I imagine that if you're the kind of person that uses the front facing camera a lot, the popup camera becomes annoying pretty fast. (but I don't know because I'm not that person)
FM radio is a feature I really like to have, but I'm probably alone in that one.

Thanks mate for your detailed comparison .
I don't use face-unlock and selfies like you. So it 'll not be any issue for me. Though I don't like Pop-Up camera. But I really like stereo speakers.
BTW, how's the battery life of K20 pro ?
OP7 has almost no development - unlike the K 20 Pro.
But I really don't like the bootloader unlocking procedure of Xiaomi. It's really annoying (really)to me.
Would you throw some lights on the multi-media experiences of K20 Pro - 3.5 mm audio quality, watching video/movie experience etc.? Really it's very important to me.
Which one would be better for multi-media between these two ?
Thank you once again for your reply.
K20 Pro has a HiFi DAC built-in. It's 24 bits / 192 KHz.
So it has the ability to play High Definition audio.
You don't really need to unlock the bootloader unless you really need root for something or actually want to change ROMs.
I used the Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot tool to disable apps that I don't use. MIUI isn't that bad, for now at least.
I was confused about that last few days, finally bought k20 pro, for 3.5 mm audio jack and price difference. audio, movies and camera are great.

I am probably not the best judge. I don't have an OP7, have only used this device (European 9Tpro) for under 2 weeks now and my previous phone was almost 5 years old. To me, watching video on the notch-less OLED and listening through simple wired earphones is very good.
Battery life is good. In normal day to day use when I'm not traveling, I can charge it every 2 days. In heavy use it will still last a full day easy. I have everything on all the time (wifi, sync, location, bluetooth, ambient display).
I plan to keep mine stock and locked for at least the first month, but yes from what I read on these forums, unlocking and flashing is more cumbersome and has more pitfalls than I'm used to from HTC devices.
My previous phone was OP7.
k20pro 256gb + 27watt charger costs less than Op7. So price wise this is a win.
Face unlock is a breeze in Op7. Miss that comfort on k20 pro. Though always on fingerprint is good & serves the purpose.
4000 mah battery & miui battery management works wonders. Always end up with 30+ at the end of the day. On Op7, it would be about less than 20% by the end of the day.
Oxygen os is really clean. But it lacks serious customisation. Miui is eyecandy & won't get boring. This is probably the only factor for me to switch from op7.
Also, since op7 was just a minor upgrade from 6T, better to wait for Op7t (with 90hz).
But beware of your purchase now, the price of K20PRO will see drop Faster than op7 in very short period of time. (Already price cut of Rs 2000 announced in India (flipkart))
U should also check the asus rog 2 if u are not bothered by large bezels

Excellent comparison. :good:
Really appreciate .
Totally agree with you - OP7 is a minor upgrade from 6T. And Miui is eyecandy and has more customisations.
BTW, the same question I want to ask you - Are satisfied by switching from OP7 to Redmi K20 Pro ?

K20 Pro has a HiFi DAC built-in. It's 24 bits / 192 KHz.
So it has the ability to play High Definition audio.
You don't really need to unlock the bootloader unless you really need root for something or actually want to change ROMs.
I used the Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot tool to disable apps that I don't use. MIUI isn't that bad, for now at least.

Thanks for sharing the most important feature - audio quality of K20 Pro.
What's your feedback about the headphone audio quality of K20 Pro?
Is it really awesome or average ?
I like to use rooted device. And that's why I don't like Xiaomi for their bootloader unlocking policy.
Appreciate your ADB/Fastboot procedure for deblauting.
BTW, I had some bad experiences with RN7 Pro - MTP incompatibility. My Windows PC can't recognized RN7 Pro and can't install the drivers. And finally I'd to sale RN7 Pro due to this issue. Is there any MTP/ Driver issue with K20 Pro ?
:good:
if op7 has no notch i would have gotten it to try this oxygen os ,coming from pocophone which is mine spare phone now ,glad i dont to face with a notch all day , to me op7 just look like a 6t , by the way i have no issue connecting mine pc (win 7) to k20 pro
Yes, i really am enjoying the k20 pro. Yesterday, the android 10 OTA was received. So that also is covered.
And miui 11 is on the way by end of the year.
Btw, if u are looking for Op7T for the 90hz display, K20PRO can also reach around 80hz thru mods. Both are 1080 oled panels.
On a related note, asus rog 2 has got some Insane specs for a sweet price (128/8 ) Rs 38k.
K20pro is going to be sold for less then 24999 during the sale season... That's a huge price drop for such a new device and it's cheating for those who bought this device from the start.....

Nope Max drop will be ₹3500 if you are taking into account the initial ₹2000 into account. Even in current sale a minimum card discount is going to be there for atleast ₹1500. As a loyalist I feel that companies should atleast hold onto their prices for 6 months man. If you ever want to resell your device within this timefram now you will face a huge challenge trying to resell. Not that I would be doing that. Its about percieved difference of going from Base bottom Budget Brand to a Premium Brand... They went back to being a budget only Brand with this move. Thats really Bad. I would gladly buy their Premium range of Phones of the Mi Series(I owned a MI3 and Mi5) But they don't release them here in India anymore..
If a Brand wants to induce a loyalty in its customer base they should be prepared to be loyal in return. This doesnt feel like loyalty..
