Vibration gets disabled, requires reboot to enable again - Google Pixel 4 XL Questions & Answers

Has anyone had issues with the vibration stop working on their Pixel 4XL?
Mine stops working and requires a reboot to fix it. So it is definitely not a hardware/motor issue. The only pattern is that the phone shows this behavior after overnight charging. So when I pick up the phone in the morning the vibration has stopped working.
I am on latest Feb security patch. I haven't factory reset the phone yet. May be will give it a go.

No issues here with vibration!

[Q] Lollipop update -- gesture launch broken?

Updated my M8 to Lollipop OTA the other day, and since then gesture launch stops working occasionally. It has happened sometimes twice a day, sometimes after a couple of days. I have to restart the phone to get it working again. I only had the phone for about three weeks before lollipop, but gesture launch never stopped working during that time period. Anyone else experience this? Anyone find a work around other than restart (turning gesture launch off and then back on does not seem to work). I wonder if a factory reset would fix the issue.

Screen off during call not working?

Over the last week my screen stopped shutting off during calls. I've looked everywhere for a fix. Tried "prevent accidental presses". But the screen still stays on.
Anyone else seeing this?
Did you try to reboot? I have this happen from time to time and a reboot always fixes it. Don't know why it happens, it's annoying but reboot seems to be a temporary fix. I didn't have this issue tough until after the Oct.2017 security patch update I received in mid-Nov.
Took it to big red....they performed a test #test on the dialer. Found out my prox sensor was bad.
New phone on its way

[Q] Keeps requiring password/pin

Ever since the update to Oreo I've been constantly having this issue and it's extremely irritating and can't figure out how to stop it from happening. Basically at least once a day now, sometimes more than once it refuses to use the fingerprint scanner and wants me to enter my password or now my PIN since I switched to the less secure pin just to make it less of a pain everytime this happens and I just want it to go back to working properly so I can have the password again, does anyone know how to fix this issue? It's an unlocked note 8 and it's not rooted or anything, just a stock phone.
It's probably because you're phone has restarted and requires a pin after a restart before it'll use biometrics - It's a problem on Oreo, it's basically just a completely cr*p update that's broken so many things.
Samsung as usual, don't seem to give a stuff!
Nope, it's not a restart that's causing it, that's an entirely different message, especially since the phone's encrypted so the phone won't even start up on a reboot till the encryption password is entered. This is just a it randomly won't accept the fingerprint to unlock, I've turned the phone off then turned it right back on to unlock it and this has happened, 100% certain it had nothing to do with rebooting.
I've read some people saying they had an app that force locked the phone and that causes this and removing it fixed the problem, but I don't have any app that does that.
I have an unlocked note 8 too, I only use iris validation (finger print does not reliably work for me because of my eczema), the only time i have ever encountered this was when the phone went to lock screen while trying to access bio-metric validation (banking app, only ever happened once, i disabled fingerprint after due to unreliability relating to eczema as previously mentioned)
Maybe not the same issue but fingerprint unlock never works for me reliably. I get that message when my fingerprint can't be recognized. I have working hands so often my fingers get knicked, scratched, etc or even just wet causing my fingerprint not register. If I reregister fingerprint with out a perfect fingerprint, after my fingers heal, can't be recognized again. Happened on my Note 5 as well so I stopped using fingerprint to unlock.
Don't think that's the issue for me, I never have any issues with the fingerprint reader normally, it always works great when it actually lets me use it.

Good Lock frequently disables itself on Pie

A friend of mine installed Good Lock on his Note 9 running Pie. Every week or so, Good Lock modules stop running and have to be toggled off and on to get them working again. He checked to make sure all updates were installed. When it stops working, the modules still show they're "ON". I checked the battery usage and there's no indication it's putting Good Lock to sleep. Is there a possibility that his installed theme, from the Samsung Store, is conflicting somehow? Does anyone else have this issue or a solution?
The only times that's ever happened to me on Oreo was when I'd get a system update, or Good lock updated, but it certainly wasn't a regular occurrence.

A30 Phone Restarting issue

Hi,
I've had this phone for a few weeks now and noticed something weird which I think is an issue.
Every time I restart my A30, like normal phones, it will ask for my security pattern to login for the first time after restart.
Here's the issue:
When I restart my A30, and just leave it without logging-in (say you can wait from 10 minutes to a few hours).
As soon as I login and enter my security pattern, the A30 comes up with "Phone starting" and starts to load up the apps.
So it was sitting there for an hour or what not, it seems like it is on a suspended restart until you login.
This got me because I have a scheduled phone restart at 3am everyday and my morning alarm fails because the apps has not loaded yet waiting for me to login.
Has anyone have the same issue with their A30.
Thanks,
Jay
Have you enabled the auto restart in Device Care? if you do.. you can turn it off.
I am facing the same issue with my galaxy a30 3 month old only
Tried hard resetting twice ..still the issue exists
I'm guessing this must be a hardware problem.
Can anyone help out please
