Hello. I am using Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (Exynos Variant) running Android 10. After updating to Android 10 I am facing a peculiar problem. Swipe Down for Notification not working randomly.
It's like when I changed the wallpaper or changing Theme from Galaxy Theme App it stops working sometimes.
Or even just a normal reboot will make it stop working.
Also when I optimised my device from device care it will stop working.
Now the only option I have to make it work is to reboot the device but there is no guarantee that after reboot it will work.
After updating my device to Android 10 I have done a full factory reset as well.
So anyone facing this kind of issue???
Also can anyone help me with a solution???
Thanks in Advance.

Noticed this also. Not sure why it happens for me though. Note9 512GB N960U
I haven't seen this specific issue but I find that the Samsung gestures (the swipe from the bottom of the screen ones) sometimes just stop working in Android 10 / OneUI2.0
I noticed that also once or twice, after reboot back to normal.
I don't use any gestures for nav etc. Only swipe up and down ones. Not sure if this info makes any difference.
Will see if I do anything that triggers this bug.
Are you using GoodLock? TaskChanger, specifically?
Turn it off, then on again. This fixed it for me.

Right after updating my OP3T (clean flash) to Nougat I started to encounter some recent apps screen bugs. Sometimes the first tap on recents button doesn't make the recent apps appear - although the touch is registered and confirmed by the haptic feedback. The second bug I come across is that when I tap onto the clean all button in recents, it sometimes disappears and the apps don't get closed. To exit the screen I have to use home/back button, the whole recent apps screen freezes btw and it doesn't react to scrolling.
Any tips?
EDIT
Another bug I noticed is the quick settings lag while swiping down the notification bar and different LED color (while charging for instance) than set in settings.

Are you rooted? Try a factory reset and see if it persists.
I've got the same bug with the recent button.
OOS 4.0 updated through OTA, rooted. Had the bug before i rooted too.

Nope, I'm not rooted (trying to live without root, already 3 days pretending I can make it xD). Just wiped the whole phone after updating.

this already happened on 3.5.4, truly annoying.
I said this on another thread but 7.0 when I was using it on the 6P was quite laggy and buggy, 7.1.1 was a big step up in performance. I'm seeing similar issue on the 3T I did on the 6P on 7.0. I really hope OP update their base to 7.1.1.
These issues can only exists in OnePlus phones for months or years.. OnePlus is for hardware and not software.

Hello after i updated my phone to oreo it lags sometimes. I assume that it is kind of a Glance problem cause when i turn off glance there is no lag at all(pretty strange i know). I contacted support about this 2 times and they said restart the phone and clear the chace of the app that causes the issue. Neither of them work. Does anyone else facing this issue?

I do not have this problem, everything works well and works noticeably better than the beta

The only lag I have is with the fingerprint senzor. If I doubletap the screen and then I press the fingerprint, it unlocks instantly. If I press the fingerprint with the screen off, it takes a while before the screens turns on (~1.5sec). Maybe this is how it is on the Nokia 8, but on the HTC 10 was lightning fast.
I will reset the phone if the problem presist s i will send the phone to service

Had a 10 as well as don't really notice that much difference. What I will say is that battery performance trounces the 10 so I'd imagine it's pulling the Nokia from deep sleep that causes the minor lag.
always restart wherever it lags. it lags with the amount of oreo update.
Did you tryed a factory reset? I did it and it is more responsive then before. But safe needed data first. Backup before factory reset!

I think it is so the phone isnt getting false attempts to unlock it, only my opinion though, i am not saying that is deffo the reason.
I just have the same problems with my Nokia 8 since 2 days.
Fingerprint or power-button unlock is sometimes painfully slow. Maybe up to 5 seconds.
I have the Android 8.1 Oreo update installed since some months already and also the newest security patch.
I have read, it's a general problem of the 8.1 version, that unlocking gets slowed down.
Anyone has a solution so far? Factory reset doesn't seem to help always (I didnt try), but maybe downgrading to Android 8?
nokia 8 unlock delay fixed

No, this didn't work for me at all.
I think it's related to deep sleep / doze feature. Try to restore factory settings and wipe clean data + cache of the phone and see if it will help. There's so many things that can cause this that we're not able to help any of you.

Thanks, I know, but that also didn't help me. Currently I am following this bug report at Google:
https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/109710373
It seems to be an issue witht he June Android Security Patch... a lot of Pixels are having the same problem.
I don't thinks it's the June 2018 update problem. If u look at the dates on this thread, the problem started after the oreo 8.0 update back in November 2017. Hopefully it'll be fixed in the android 9 update coming soon. I updated straight to 8.1 after unboxing so I don't know if this problem was around during nougat
Same here
I have the same error.
Hi
I have a strange issue when using Android Auto on car head unit through my Mi9 MIUI Global 11.0.5.
Everything connects fine as expected and everything displays correctly until the phone screen times out, then the car head unit loses roughly a quarter of the right hand display (has overlay of black bar from top to bottom of screen). The icons / screens still work if pressed where graphics would be, but they are not displayed.
i have tried altering notch setting / full screen display settings but nothing corrects the issue.
......any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Mr E Weasel
This is the same problem as in a non MIUI (AOSP) rom. Disable HW overlay in developer option solves this.
However. This shouldn't be a problem on a MIUI rom that's why I don't use the AOSP ROMs for now.
So it's very weird.
......thanks for the reply and good call @KaiseRRUby. I tried that but as you probably suspected it did not solve the issue, also the state does not persist after a reboot.

Same problem on Mi 9T Pro here.
I have enabled developer options and enabled the option to keep phone awake while charging.

I did a workarround by using the free Android application "Automate" by LLamaLab. I setup a basic script looking if i am in my car (Check car bluetooth connectivity) and then delay the screen lock. When not in my car anymore (no more car bluetooth connectivity) re enable the screen lock as it was.
It is working like a charm.
I had same problem, you can turn on Always on display it will fix it
UPDATE:
Only way round it I have found so far is to use tasker (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm) to display full black screen and set screen time out to max time when it see Android Auto launched.

I've always had AOD activated and it does not help.
The solution for me was to enable keep screen on while charging in developer settings. Since the phone is always plugged in for AA, it works fine.
I don't know why some resolve to using scripting apps for this. Did you try this setting and it did not help, or maybe you don't want to keep the screen on while charging ? You can always turn it off by pressing the power button, so it seems like the almost perfect solution to me.
Does anyone else have the problem where the clock on the always on display is not showing the correct time (it stays frozen until you turn on and off the display)? It happened after updating to Android 11.
Same here. On the Dutch IT-site tweakers.nl it is also mentioned several times.
I did a clean factory reset (thus without restoring a backup). This does not help.

Mine work perfectly after the update
Use smart activation and it won't freeze anymore
Thanks for the suggestion but I really want to have it stay on all the time and not freezing the clock and the AOD icons.
They rolled a big update but the bug with the Always on display still occurs they did fix the app switcher bug though
*SOLVED*
Hi all,
Have my Galaxy S10 SM-G9730 Dual Sim (unrooted) for about 18months now and has never skipped a beat.... until the new One UI 3.0 update that I got a few days ago.
After a restart everything works fine then after 15min-2hrs I will lose auto rotate, screen brightness is also less responsive (proximity sensor seems to be ok). Toggling auto rotate/adaptive brightness on/off does nothing.
Same issue across all apps (Youtube, Camera, Messaging etc.)
Going to the *#0*# - SENSOR menu shows me that:
Accelerometer Sensor is responsive (x, y, z axis all change to reflect movement) but the "IMAGE TEST" doesn't rotate the image of the dog. Should it?
Gyroscope Sensor doesn't move at all, is it supposed to? "GYRO SELFTEST" shows a PASS.
I downloaded the app "Sensor Test" and most of the sensors give me the error:
"This sensor doesn't report any readings, seems you have error with sensor service in device firmware"
I have tried the following:
- Toggle auto rotate on/off.
- Restart phone (using power button - restart & using power & Vol down combo)
- Cleared cache from Bootloader menu.
- Settings - Apps - Reset app preferences.
- Factory reset (using both settings - Factory reset & using bootloader factory reset)
I have a feeling it is an app that isn't updated to run on One UI 3.0 but I have no way of finding the guilty app.
Called Samsung who were no help (try restart, try factory reset, send it to us but we will charge you as Samsung don't have international warranty , even though yes we agree that it was our update that probably caused it)
Seemed to be good for about 10 hours after the factory reset but came came again,
Anyone come across this and found a way out?
*edit* just checked after restart and Gyroscope Sensor shows values after restart (while auto rotate is working), This leads me to believe it is 100% the gyroscope at first which in time leads to the accelerometer also not working.
*edit x2* well I've just restarted my phone then went through every single app 1 by 1 (downloaded and bloatware) and checking for rotation after each app launch, that is: launch app, test rotation, close app, test rotation and do that 172 times!! I task killed maybe 5 times during the process..
after opening every app I still have auto rotation which leads me to believe its some system background process and not a 3rd party app issue. Damn..
Is there any way for me to monitor these? or monitor sensors stopping functioning?
*SOLVED* See post #6 below
I have same problem. After updating to one ui 3, the rotate sensor stops working after a while and only a reboot helps. Galaxy Note 10+ N9750 (snapdragon). Can't find fix yet
Same problem, autorotate feature is not working after software update (Samsung Galaxy S10 SM-G9730, One UI 3.0, Android 11)
Same thing here! If you read this please send a bug report to samsung we we can get their attention.
Didn't see anything on Reddit about it may be fixed on 3.1
Let's find out

Ok then, finally seem to have this sorted.
What I ended up doing was:
Downloading the latest firmware (the firmware that caused the problem) using frija.
I took a complete backup onto my laptop using Smart Switch.
I then flashed the firmware using Odin but again after a few hours sensors started to drop off again.
I then flashed the firmware again using Odin but this time I performed a nand erase while flashing.
Pushed my backup back onto my phone from my laptop using Smart Switch.
And hey presto!
This seems to have sorted it, I'm now well into day 2 and still working 100% which is the best it has been since the OTA firmware update.
Hopefully that will help others
My phone is doing this as well, I've got a US unlocked phone overseas as well. I followed your instructions and did the nand erase but after 2 days the sensors started messing up again.

It's the firmware..samsung is releasing buggy firmware..received 3.1 update yesterday... seems to have solved proximity and autorotate issue..smartview and NFC still not working for me.
So they force us into an update that breaks the phone and don't let us go back to the previous version of the software? That doesn't sound right.
Another marketing scam to get us on to the S21.
Same problem with S21 Ultra after Android 13. Rotate sensor flips 90degrees after some day or two of use. Now it was messenger that was active when the flip came.....
Any solutions apart from reflashing via 3rd party? That's quite a job to reset the phone.
Thanks!
