I can decide buying the S10 (normal one) or the Huawei P30 Pro.
What are your experiences with the phone so far?
Would you buy it again or should I go for the P30 Pro?
Hey mate. I was also struggling about Huawei P30 Pro. I have a S10 exynos, and my main problems with it are: battery, and camera. I was thinking a lot about exchanging my phone for P30 Pro, because of that camera and battery. But I made small research about P30 Pro, and... it's not a perfect phone. There is no perfect phone.
Check out forum about P30 Pro on XDA, and there are people complaining about different things of Huawei.
Those two last post from leoni1980 and Ady1976 kinda opened my eyes. They made really good points.

I think I'll stick to my S10, and I hope Samsung will improve night mode and the new charging speed will make the experience with Samsung better.
What are my favourite things about S10? First of all, the screen. It's great, the highest resolution is nice, but my top feaute is the reduction of blue light. Even youtubers are starting to inform about blue light and what harm can it do. Also the stereo speakers are really nice. I enjoy using OneUI with gestures and onehand+ app. No buttons on my screen, but also no one besides me know how to operate my phone Inscreen fingerprint is not perfect, but i like its position and that it can be used with wet fingers. Though my isn't always working. Huawei's interface isn't that nice from what I read.
Overall, it's a good phone, but not perfect. On some aspects Samsung didn't do their best, especially with the whole Exynos vs Snapdragon topic. And I think I'll stick with my S10, instead of trying to change it for P30 Pro.

Do not know about the P30 but I have had my S10 Snapdragon for about a month and a half. I also have the Pixel 2...
Love the S10 ..the Pixel 3a is due out anytime now and the 4 is due out in October and both will have a better camera vs the S10.
It really depends on what is important to you?
Camera? Always having the most updated software? UI ? Cost?
Do you use the Gear S3 watch? Etc, etc...
Sammy offers a nice trade in deal if you have the current S8 or S9 as well.

thanks for your replies guys .. I bought it yesterday for very cheap and I´m in love with it
Congrats and welcome aboard!
I'm wondering if any people here have also tried the P30.
I'm trying to decide between the two. I want a headphone jack and card reader so I can't go up to the Plus. I also think that 6.1in is at the high end of what is acceptable for size for me. (I currently have a Z5 compact 4.6in phone).
The night mode is very impressive on the P30 but the S10 is not bad either. I've read that the colors on the P30 can be off but I think that color can usually be fixed much more easily than trying to add missing detail (which is impossible)
I do require an unlockable rootable phone. I want to be able to use apps like adaway, titanium backup, etc. More importantly, the ability to root has allowed me to keep my phone much longer with custom ROMs and security updates. It sounds like I can just buy a snapdragon version from china.
For the rest, display, performance, I think it is close enough for me.
I'd appreciate any insights/recommendations. It is hard to decide.
Since it's unknown what's gonna happen to huawei in the future I would recommend you not to buy any huawei device

As it looks like the current issues only affects future huawei devices and I'm not looking to buy a future device (just a current one) there should be no affect. While this is somewhat of a factor, I'm trying to compare the phone based on their merits first
I have an S10+ and P30 Pro. My thoughts:
Camera- Under normal conditions, the P30 Pro has the POTENTIAL to take better shots than the S10. That being said, the S10 takes good shots more consistently than the P30 Pro. However, the P30 Pro takes better night shots when using night mode, no question.
Battery life- My P30 Pro overall has better battery life than my S10+, but that's because the screen resolution is lower, and EMUI has a habit of being too aggressive when keeping apps in "sleep" mode. I often miss notifications because of it.
Screen- The P30 Pro has a good screen, but the S10+ wins hands down. No surprise there.
Sound- For whatever reason, Huawei decided to go with a single down firing speaker this time around, versus the stereo speakers on the P20 Pro. Because of that, the sound on the S10 is leaps and bounds better.
Thanks. For the camera, how is the p30 sometimes worse? Is it easily fixable? Is this because the auto to mode works better on the s10? For night mode a have you noticed any color issues? If so, is it easily fixable?
Are you using the snapdragon version of the s10?
Hi man.
Here is what I have experienced and owned.
I had a P20 Pro 1 year. Wow, my better device in my life. Short story, I give it to my girlfriend and needed a new cellphone.
I bought P30 and have it for one week. Wonderful camera and battery. But all the rest was bad.... : bad speaker, bad audio call, no water resist,, etc.
I finally bought S10, and I'm very happy with it. All is better, except battery life and camera.
Sent from my Galaxy S10 using XDA Labs
And don't forget that Huawei has that stupid proprietary NM card slot, which for me is next to unusable.
I just went from P20 pro to S10. I miss the battery on the huawei device but i had been 6 months without a security update (thanks huawei/ee!). P20 pro camera night mode is astonishing. The Ai forthe camera consistently led to greens that were too green and blues that were too blue. Plus loss of some texture. You needed to be a camera expert to get a properly good photo with the P20 pro. The lower res screen is probably how the battery was so efficient, but EMUI would ax google play music mid-song while i was running and frustrate the hell out of me, plus it killed PoGo every few minutes, especially if i tabbed away from the app to another app. Apart from the battery, the S10 is a drastic improvement across the board.
No wireless charging on the P30 which is dealbreaker for me
I had a p30 pro, now on a s10 exynos due to an insurance claim. I chose the s10 due to concerns about huawei's future and also to try the s10.
As others have said, the p30 pro camera is stunning, but not without it's flaws.
Specifically, by camera:
- The p30 pro wide angle camera is sharper and more detailed than the s10's wide angle camera in good light. Despite being the same f2.2, in low light, the s10 camera is less smeary and holds the colours better. The raw files from the p30 pro hold up well to sharpening and exposure tweaks. I'm quite impressed with the edge to edge sharpness of the p30 pro wide angle in bright light, while not a Canon 17-40mm L series it was impressively sharp. Whereas the s10 wide angle does get blurry nearer the edges in a more obvious way, and can be distracting for architecture or foliage.
- The main RYYB camera on the p30 pro has incredible detail in good light and reasonable detail in low light. The 40mp raw dng files (which are typically 80mb in size) have a lot of latitude to work with in lightroom, and the 10mp jpgs are good. The AI sense is quite clever and can often give pleasing jpg images, however I found it over sharpened at times.
The portrait modes are clever and more automatic than on the s10. The background blur is also more convincing, even though my p30 pro had the old firmware before the time of flight sensor was activated.
However the RYYB sensor still feels beta. The colours are often wrong in jpgs (although apparently the latest v162 firmware has improved this), and the raw files in lightroom need significant work to avoid weird purple or green tints. It took me a lot of time to build up a lightroom profile that handled the raw files with the right colour modifications.
It's a very capable sensor with lots of potential and the ability to far out resolve the s10 camera, but can let you down with poor colour rendition.
Lastly on this one the jpgs from the p30 pro were often a bit darker than I would prefer, so I tended to boost exposure by 0.3 to 0.7. The s10 is spot on.
- The 5x zoom on the p30 pro in my opinion is a bit wasted. I found it to be a fun toy but a 3x zoom would be more practical for general day to day or travel photography. After all, when was the last time you bought a 125mm prime lens for your camera? Never? Whereas a 75mm would be more common.
The 5x zoom on the p30 pro is lower resolution than the 2x zoom on the s10, although obviously the focal length is so different it's hard to compare directly in terms of detail. The colour rendition between the two is similar. I found the 8mp raw files on the p30 pro 5x zoom to be a bit dull but easy to boost, and they were reasonably sharp. The s10's 2x zoom seems to give more pleasing jpg images straight from camera. Again, I found the 5x zoom to be a bit of a gimmick. 3x would be my preference.
Overall, I thought the p30 pro had more potential, and the ability to shoot dng raw with all three cameras gives more creative freedom. I liked that the main camera shoots 10mp jpgs and 40mp raw simultaneously, so the jpg is easy to share, but you have the full raw file still.
The portrait mode on the p30 pro was seriously was impressive with convincing fake bokeh and I can't get the s10 to do anything close in live focus. The p30 pro made it easy.
The s10 wins for dependability of colour rendition and jpgs out of camera that are generally more pleasing. If you've had an s8, the main camera of the s10 is similar with slightly better detail.
If the software upgrades for the p30 pro improve the colour rendition then that would be a winner.
I liked the frequent software updates from huawei and I hope that continues for P30 Pro owners.
Other notes -
The battery life on the p30 pro was incredible. I was blown away. Yes the screen is 1080p, but I run the s10 in the same resolution so that's not a factor in battery comparisons for me. The p30 pro seemed to last forever.
The screen on the p30 pro is duller than the s10 but it's not bad. People would have you believe 1080p is a huge sin, but it's not noticeable in daily use.
The notch on the p30 pro was better in the middle. The cut out on the s10 still bugs me, it makes the status bar so fat.
I liked huawei's launcher, and for the first phone in a long time I stuck with the stock launcher and didn't install nova, it was that good. I'm back to nova on the s10.
Nm format is daft. But the p30 pro had 256gb storage so didn't bother me.
I found I missed the headphone port being absent on the p30 pro, despite having Bluetooth headphones at work and for running, and a Bluetooth speaker at home and Bluetooth in the car. Somehow, that 3.5mm jack is still useful. I missed it most when travelling overseas and I couldn't use the same wired headphones as for my iPad. 16 hour flight plus flights either side = wired and not needing to charge is handy.
The p30 pro seemed to have a very fast modem. I noticed 4g to seem faster than on Samsung phones when tethering or downloading on the phone, however I failed to do any speed tests to prove this.
The in screen fingerprint reader is faster on the p30 pro, although I understand a software update is out in some regions for the s10 that speeds it up.
I didn't like the power and volume keys on the same side for the p30. I never got my muscle memory down pat for which key was what.
The s10 feels more polished while the p30 pro has more cool tech and potential, and both devices are certainly great camera phones. Either one will give the owner much happiness if you can enjoy the strengths and not let the faults annoy you, knowing every other camera phone also has faults.

I noticed the NM slot. I figured that I can just buy a NM card to replace my current microSD. I usually leave it in the phone. I guess there is a slight annoyance that I'd need an adapter if I wanted to directly read it on my computer.
As for battery, I wonder how the P30 (non-pro) compares to the S10 (snapdragon instead of ex). I thought the snapdragon was supposed to be more energy efficient.
I think the cameras in the pro are the same or similar to the non-pro. (ie 3X vs 5X zoom) so I'll assume your description applies to both. For me, any camera I've used has always given pretty good photos during the day in good lighting. I've always struggled with lower lighting or night photos. That is why I'm focusing so much on this.
It sounds like the consensus is that when used in auto mode without editing, the S10 gives better looking photos. However, with post-processing and editing, the P30 photos are better (especially night mode). If I have to spend hours to manually edit each photo one by one, I think that may be a deal breaker. If I can feed all my photo through a batch processing (ideally via an app vs copying to the computer), then I don't have an issue with that. I typically never do any fancy filters to my photos (ie. bokeh) other than fixing the dynamic range. Currently on my phone, I open up each one in google photos and click AUTO and about 90% end up looking better so that has been my process. I find that quite annoying and which I could batch it. I use Open Camera with DRO setting as my main camera.
AS for everything else, it sounds like the P30 is more "buggy" than the S10. Though, I usually use the MFR rom with Nova for a while then try to run something simpler like Lineage.
Does that sound like an accurate summary?
Now that leads to another question. For the S10 and P30, are all the camera features exposed in the camera API? If I use another app (ie. Google Camera, Open Camera, A Better Camera), will it be able to do everything the MFR camera can do? (ie. Night mode, switching between cameras, etc)
I wish there was somewhere in the US I could try out the P30 phone.

Here's a P30 Pro DNG/RAW example from the main camera for those interested.
This is a 40mp DNG file processed to taste in Lightroom, just showing a 1024px thumbnail as an overview.
This is a 100% crop of that image in Lightroom.

You don't happen to have the same photos taken with the S10 do you?
do you use the lightroom app or the PC app

I could do a comparison of the same photo on both - generally the S10 is better JPGs, less room on the RAW. The P30 Pro needs the RAW to be processed to make it better than the S10, and it definitely has potential to be better.
I'm intrigued to know what the v162 firmware for the P30 Pro will do, it is supposed to fix the white balance issues by the camera. v153 firmware improved the fake bokeh on the P30 Pro. There is also a S10 firmware update that is supposed to improve the fake bokeh on the S10 so you can use the 2x zoom lens. The P30 Pro already lets you do fake bokeh at 1x, 2x, 3x (edit: I previously said wide, standard and zoom, which wasn't correct).
I use Lightroom on the PC only. The Lighroom Mobile app is clever but clunky. As a note, the camera mode in the Lightroom app doesn't support the 3 cameras on the P30 Pro or the S10.

Fake bokeh comparison. Click on thumbnails for full image. Both unedited, straight out of camera. (Neither gives you a DNG/RAW file for fake bokeh modes.)
There is some minor difference in framing between the images.
In my view, the P30 Pro has better exposure and smoothness of fake bokeh. with a more pleasing image..
The S10 is dull and the bokeh not as pronounced, but more accurate. The S10 is closer to what the true life colours really were.
S10 exynos main camera ASD5 firmware:
P30 Pro main camera v153 firmware:
I wont give as detailed comparisons as the posts before, but if my simple personal opinions help any one then i,m glad to type them.
I always have two active phones. i have an s10 standard and a p30 non pro. i think its important to compare the two rather than a p30 pro vs a s10 or a p30 vs an s10+
i bought the s10 g973 first. It was bigger than any galaxy i have owned and i have had every one since the s2. its larger to the point where i don't feel comfortable texting and driving (i know i shouldn't, but i do constantly and will never stop). if you have long fingers it shouldn't be a problem.
The screen on the s10 beautiful. its quite an improvement even over the s9. i cant stand the camera on right hand side screen, or the way pie moved the clock to the left of the screen. on the p30 the camera is dead center, and i use the builtin software to black out the sides, its not noticeable at all and is far superior to the s10.
i have always rooted my phones and tablets. I must have owned a couple dozen devices over the last 5 years and never thought i could use anything unrooted. development on the s10 has been slow because of new security built in,but it has been picking up where its pretty simple to root, add twrp, back up/restore, and custom roms are coming out. None of it was like what we have seen in the past on Samsung phones but it seems like its just a matter of time.
i ended up buying a p30 as my second line, but i am now using it as my main phone. the size of it is just perfect for me. its wider, but thinner and shorter. It feels much smaller in the hand. I run the screen at 2340*1080 which isn't really a noticeable difference from the 3340*1440 of the s10 (even with the s10's higher dpi) because the size difference.
i dont play around with the cameras too much as i'm not a photographer, but in regular use the p30 is far superior than the s10. The s10 has made some improvements adding nite mode in its latest upgrade, but there still is no comparison... p30 all the way on the camera.
not having root on the p30 sucks, but its not as bad as i thought it could be, especially because the development (though picking up) has been very slow on the s10. if the p30 was rooted right now i wouldn't even touch my s10. i just like it that much better.
some of the negatives not being rooted..i am using adguard on the p30, its ok, but it isnt as reliable as adaway, though its easier to pause when something is blocked that you don't want blocked. The p30 has some built in options for black mode like its email client that work very well, but its not the same as being able to use substratum. i usually keep everything i can blacked out (not just a grayed out dark mode which i find ugly)
the battery is probably the biggest difference. Huawei devices have remarkable battery life. I know this from experience from the 2 huawei tablets and mate 10 i own. i was worried about not having wireless charging, but even unrooted, without greenify or built in optimizations in custom roms, its the best battery life i have had on any phone.
people have had trouble adjusting to emui, it may because i was used to it on the tablets i own. but i actually like it. hauwei has some things like AOD that i couldn't live without. they may may not be as refined as Samsung's with their color coding of messages, but its good enuf to over look. and the p30 has some features that surprised me after using samsung so long that samsung doesnt have like copying the tracking number only from a text or phone number from a missed call to search for them.
i have to think that the p30 will get rooted eventually after funkyhuawei or dc lounlocker is able to provide unlock codes for the bootloader.
i am pretty sure that john wu has found a way to get magisk to work on emui 9 and once the bootloader is unlocked the p30 will be rootable. hopefully its before i am ready to move onto a new phone, but i am sticking with the p30 for now.
Well I've never used EMUI so I dont really know how it differs from samsung's equiv. Generally, I use nova launcher so it overrides alot of it. My most common apps are maps, gmail, voice, camera, gallery so I don't typically use the apps provided through a specific skin. So I'm not too sure what affect it really has. I'm using lineage now on my current phone so I assume EMUI or samsungs thing will all just be "bloat" unless I find something truly useful.
I think if the P30 had an active root right now then I'd be much more inclined to go with the P30. Also if there were more activity on the P30 forum vs this one
As for the battery, I assume both are comparable and will be better than my current phone. It is hard to find a comparison of the SNAPDRAGON S10 and the P30.
As for the camera, I typically dont do any fancy shots like bokeh. I just want a shot with good lighting and color really. I have lightroom and use it sometimes, but if I have to go through hundreds of photos one by one just to get them on par with the S10, then that is a deal breaker for me . If the photos generally all have the same issues, and I just need to run a batch job, then that's acceptable for me. Obviously it would be ideal if the photos were good to begin with. I know future software updates COULD improve things, but I've heard that too many times to count on it.
I wish there were a B&M store that had P30's in the US so I could actually hold it in my hand and look at it.
Hi guys,
I am looking to get a phone and upgrade from P20, I am thinking of either OnePlus 7T and P30 Pro.
Any recommendations or opinions from users?
Personally:
I wanna go for OnePlus because of the OS, it is much cleaner and I enjoyed my three OP I had in a past.
I was thinking of P30 Pro due to camera.
Based in UK if that matters.
Regards

In my Opinion I would choose the P30Pro. The OP7TPro doesn't have IP-Certification and no wireless Charging.
Given the current status of the world order- Oppo

Absolutely agree. I would add that if you care about battery life, you should totally choose P30 Pro. As a con, the user interface is ugly and not fluent. Buuut, the Android 10 update is on its way, it should land on it very soon.

Definitely 7T, it has worse battery life (still amazing if you charge device every night), camera (depends, p30 has better camera hardware but postprocessing is ****-oversharpening, oversaturated etc... On the other hand 7t's camera is still awesome, not as much detail, zoom or night capabilities but still amazing, honestly majority of flagship phones these days take amazing looking photos with very little difference) and it has no IP rating which doesn't mean anything because it's still waterproof just not certified, even phones with IP rating get water damaged and warranty won't cover it so I don't think it's deal-breaker. Also, OnePlus UI (Oxygen OS) is miles better than buggy EMUI, and support for it is also awesome unlike on Huawei devices.I have got P20 pro(last year flagship) and they almost totally abandoned it, no update for like 3 months. So I would definitely take OnePlus 7T. You can also unlock bootloader on it and have support from XDA developers for another +-4 years.Maybe much more
EDIT: Almost forgot about 90Hz display, that's another awesome feature of 7T
Camera, battery, ip rating(op failed on real ip68 test), features, ir blaster, wireless charging VS 90hz display, sd855+, oxygen os(close to stock, if less is better), longer future support and updates.
Unfortunately p30 pro tends to yellow the photos at night and with certain artificial lights, I myself took p30 pro and I'm thinking of making the return to take op7t
Funny that I was on same boat, and yesterday went for the P30 Pro to replace my Note 8.
I was really about to go for the 7T Pro, since everything is better on that phone out of the camera. CPU is better, screen is much better (90Hz), sound is real stereo and just great, Oxygen OS is far better, everything including video...
Unfortunately, camera sensor is crap. Photos are ok but not an improvement to my Note. I already turned back a S10 for that same reason, and my main use for a phone is photo! And after a full day and about a thousand pics already, I am convinced that I have made the right choice.
The P30 photos are not better than the Note at x1, but everything above is much better. It has weaknesses, sometimes colors are getting washed out, you can see it on the screen, looks perfect and all of a sudden loose their 'pop'... Huawei interface is real crap, but I can leave with it.
So it all depends by how photos are important to you. If just decent photos are ok, and you are mainly a video guy, go for the OnePlus, this is a great phone, but if your main usage is photo, P30 Pro is the only choice!
Yeah I was super set on the P30 pro but then discovered that the bootloader is locked beyond hope so I dunno. I really want the great battery life of the p30 pro and camera though
Now that I'm using dark mode on app such as Instagram and Google foto I earned 1h sot. Look at here!
I Forgot this
Am in the same boat (based in UK too). OP7T Pro McLaren version out next week which looks great in the promotional video but think I'm still tending towards P30 Pro... here's my logic:
P30 Pro pros:
better camera with all 3 back cameras supporting RAW
3D TOF sensor
IP68 Certified - good enough to shoot in a pool
P30 Pro cons:
Locked bootloader so no root possible (am mainly looking to block ads though and there are options via DNS)
OP7T pros:
Root possible
McLaren version looks cool
Higher spec in general
90Hz screen
no front camera notch
OP7t cons:
bit heavy
no IP rating although it sounds water resistant
Stock camera OK (only main lens will save RAW)
GCAM mod won't support all 3 lenses
I'm on the same boat as well. Both have it's pros and cons. I say get the one which has the best support in your area. In the last 7 years, I never had a phone that did not return for warranty - and I had plenty (Sony Xperia, Pixel, Pixel 2, P20 Pro, IphoneX, Samsung 9)
I'm now waiting for a decision on Nov 19th which could see ban lifted between US and some Huawei products. Maybe that could put Mate 30 Pro on the table if it receives Google Play Services.
Take oneplus you will not regret the choice, take p30 pro youll'find a lot of bad things -Yellowish tint in photos
-Update never get costant {updated from 8 August received on 11 november (September patched) with no other improvement/bugfix} even oneplus 3t (3yo phone is Better supported),
-Updates breaks camera: dgital zoom gives now black photos in lowlight... Before update the camera saw more than human eye, now It barely focus.
-Pulldown gesture on home to get notification and Quick tiles.
-2019 smartphone miss double tap to sleep on lockscreen.
-Lack of something to turn on Torch when screen off... (Partly solvable with external applications like Button remapper).
-In "monocromatic mode" even of you use supersensing camera (the principal one) yuo can't go further 6400 iso, so in dark conditions if you want to see something you need to switch in Pro mode and raise the exposure time increasing the blur.
-If you like to shot 16:9 Remember that you suo at 6MP
-Sometimes I don't receive SMS, and they all arrive together after restarting the phone
As an old owner of Oneplus One (still using It) and Oneplus 3t (for sale) I regret not having chosen oneplus again
Just to say one, I did some tests in night mode with the gcam on oneplus 3t and with the p30 pro ... In some situations the 3t won. More accurate color, more capabilities to zoom the photo after shot.
I hope, really really hope, that emui 10 Will solve most of thesw things... For now I'm very disappointed
Hi,
Coming from HTC10 then Sony XZ1 and XZ2 then finally this P30 Pro offered by my company and...
All I have to say is that this phone is the best I have ever owned and this in all conditions.
Battery life is tremendous 10h sot even while gaming.
Just went to NYC for personal trip and took more than 1000 pics and only 5 to 10 were missed due to my shaking hand because of the cold.
I also went to Madison Square Garden to a concert and video and sound recorded are absolutely fantastic.
The only thing I could regret is my phone is a branded phone (sfr) so they are late to push updates.
Apart from that everything is terrific
Make your choice and go to a sell shop to compare them by your own as every people is having a different usage and expectations.
But my personal opinion Huawei beats the OP7T... As I said it is only my personal opinion.

But my personal opinion Huawei beats the OP7T... As I said it is only my personal opinion.

I went to Prague, take almost 1060 (photo+video) after cleaning the album only 580 start. And in some conditions i takes random shoto with oneplus 3t gcam (better result than p30 pro)
I just returned 2 oneplus 7ts both had green tint in top half of display in dark mode poor battery life as well and camera OK but nothing compared to p30 pro and battery life

Until OnePlus add an always on display I could not consider one tbh.
The P30 camera will be better too and with black Friday deals right now the price difference is not as big as has been before.

Do people still like the phone, even though you cannot unlock the BL anymore and thus no more root, custom roms and tweaks?
Is it worth for 340€? I bought one on sale online, and now I am pondering whether I should send it back or not.
Many people opt for Xiaomi Mi 9 / Mi 9T Pro in these price regions, but to be honest, I also tried that one. But regarding photo shooting and video recording and sound it is not on the P20 Pro level.
Good battery, excellent photos and Emui, you'll get used to it...
Wait until March to get Android 10.
For that price it's a very good all-round phone.
People go for xiaomi due to custom roms. P20 pro is a great device, especially at that price!

Well, you gotta unlock your BL there, in which case you lose your guarantee. But well, it is an huge argument favoring the Xiaomi. I don't think it is so important for my mother to frickle around the software.
Mi 9 has very bad low light performance compared to the P20 Pro. I have the P20 Pro for 2 years now and I have no intention of switching. The fingerprint sensor under the screen is such a good idea to navigate through the OS that I honestly felt it's abscence during a brief period of using the S9 plus and Mate 20 Pro. For video it can be very good but only if you use an app with manual video settings like Open Camera.

Choose S9+, p20 pro is not as good as what we can read on internet or YouTube.
Personally I switched from an S8+ to Redmi K20, I was happy ( Redmi camera is not as good ass S8+) and today I changed my k20 with a P20 Pro, the phone is good but not at the same level than S9+ of my friend I think ( camera also is better on S9+)
Honestly, I regret it.
what the best rom for this phone ? without emui

Camera is better on s9+? lmao
The only advantage that s9 plus has is the edge screen, wireless charging, headphone jack, the amoled screen is a better quality but not such a big difference and pretty much it.
Battery, camera and performance wise, p20 pro mops the floor with the s9 plus (unless it uses the snapdragon chipset then they are toe-to-toe)

I'm test the p20 pro and writing you from IT. I can compare it to my old S8+.
Battery losts 10% in 40min, it's really bad compared to 1h30 on S8+ ( A little less on the S9+) accu battery detects a healthy battery.
P20 pro camera is a little bit sharper but my old S8+ is way better with colors, high dynamics range (Especially this point), autofocus. Vidéo, microphone, screen are much better on S9.
OneUi is light years ahead Emui 9.1 and I'm impatient for Emui 10 ?

Who isn't. Still, i like the p20 pro, not a huge fan of the edge screen that the s9 plus has. Anyway, if the android solution doesn't solve up with the trade war thing, i am porting to another device. Big shame that Huawei gets the bat when they make pretty good phones and keep the competition high
There is no way to get the S9 Plus for 340€ new....
S9+ with Exynos processor does not last a whole day. It's honestly really bad at battery life and also full of bloatware. It does, however, have a great video mode with very smooth zoom compared to the jagged zoom on the P20. Photos seem better on the P20 Pro though.

Don't have s9+ but s8+ exynos has good battery life.
And it was just a software issue yesterday on my p20 pro, now I'm at
80% with 2h45 on screen, it's even better then my Xiaomi MI 9t ?
S9 recived software updates for camera and I compared it with my p20p.
Between flagship the camera quality is very close, the size of the camera's sensor in the smartphones not have much margin to have a huge difference ?

I'm undecided between a P30 Pro and an S10 Plus,
mainly for the comfort of the display
I tried a P30 Pro for a while and in low light (in the evening in bed, the moment when I use it most) after a while my eyes get tired
From this point of view, can Samsung be better?
Even the colors of the display seem a little tending to red on Huawei, possible?
Do you think they are paranoid and that the display of the Huawei is not so exaggeratedly more tiring than the S10?
