i tried to use a gcam. it lag soo bad so i tried to flash the 'fix' , after it succeeded i open the camera but it crashes, i tried to launch the stock camera app and it crashed too. every other sensors are working except the camera app (both stock and the third party). Im using an android 10 custom rom

Hello all
Recently picked up a LG Optimus 2X - everything seems to be ok with it, however the 'rear camera / flash' doesn't work ?
Choose the camera settings from the menu, the camera app opens up, but the screen is black, won't pick any image up whats so ever ?
Choose the 'front facing' camera and that works ok as it should
I installed a flashlight app, to check the flash led and again the led won't light up ?
Anyone come across this before and what other checks / remedies can I carry out to possibly get it working?
Moreso whats the possible cause of it not working in the 1st place ?
There is the orginal latest stock rom on it V20L - GB 2.3.4 - unrooted
Carried out a few data / wipe settings to see if that cured,but didn't.

try a factory reset....it should work.
or try to update with a LG update tool
Did that twice - recovery mode - reset / wipe data / clear caches / dalvik
Rebooted - same issue - rear camera blacked screen - no picture / front camera works !
Both camera lenses are free from dirt and blockage etc !
Sometimes the camera app freezes and force closes - suggesting it could be a software prob ?
Other Google Play camera apps have been tried with the same results.
The phone isn't rooted by the way now.
I did root and install two different versions of 'cm 7 and 9' roms with the updated 'camera' patch stock files that had been created for better results.
Same issues again, if there was a camera app or patch that I found that was for the rom I was using I used it.
However unrooted, fresh install of the original factory rom.
Used the LG updater windows program to see if there was an update, the program said the phone had the latest version - V20L - GB 2.3.4
Since you RECENTLY picked it up, I assume you have warranty.
If yea, just return it to the dealers.
If you want, you can try using custom ROM, but REMEMBER YOU MESS UP YOUR WARRANTY ONCE YOU ROOT THE PHONE so until you can be sure you can reverse it, just take the easy path and return it.
As I already mentioned in my last response yesterday, I have already tried 2 custom rom installations.
The CM 7 and the CM9 custom roms !!
The outcome when turning on the camera was exactly the same - black screen !!
Thus / thereafter reverting BACK to the original stock rom installation with NO root - for it to do exactly the same !!
i have the same problem, i even changed the back camera module with a new one from alibaba and it didnt help.i wonder could it be the main PCB card.
any ideas?
I think that the PCB is damaged if you even tryed different Roms I don't think that it is an software issue then. I will search a bit

Hi guys, I have some specific problem with camera on Ripper rom and also x-power When I launch Camera it loads for a while and then shows "camera failed"... I've never had such problem and that's why I am asking you for help

I have already tried wiping cache, factory resetting, installing two camera mods from "theme" section.

My camera don't focus, the focus is always fixed focus at like 1meter, in all camera apps and in the original too, the camera button is only good for start the camera, but dosn't take photos, I tray to restore the phone but no luck, I flash diferent tft by flashtool(last version) 757/681/290 but no luck, I open the bootloader searching for some kernel will fix it but I try doomkernel, aroma and original whit no luck. im runing out of options, any idea? it's a software problem or a hardware problem?

As far as I know this is a software problem which was introduced when we got KitKat for the Xperia Z1. This thread should contain all the information needed to fix this issue.
Make sure to make a backup of your data, that includes all data on your internal and external sd-card.

my camera doesn't work any more
what happened is , i was on cm12 rom and every thing work properly , and then i flashed an android 7.1 modified rom on my phone
and the camera wasn't working (sometimes it works and sometimes its not ) so i tried to flash sony z4 camera mod on my phone and no thing changed , so i returned back to cm12 rom but the camera still not working
i also tried the generic system firmware , and tried every camera app i the store ( include open camera ) and still not working

Hi, recently i had a problem & faced bootloop that's why i flash a fastboot rom & then again flashed the latest version of the custom rom i was using. After few hours i noticed that none of my sensors were working, although i have fixed this sensor problem now by flashing the persist.img file from fastboot rom but still selfie camera problem is there.
I tried controlling is manually using an app it's working perfectly then but generally at the time of video calling or switching to front cam it's not even working for once.. please help me how to fix this problem!!
