This shortcut in the dropdown is active but when I tap it it does not deactivate, why? any ideas? thanks
Not sure, mine seems to deactivate just fine. I have also gone thru the setup and have it paired to a laptop. Maybe you only partially completed the install/setup or maybe it's the default behavior when it has not been set up (to make set up easier if/when you do try it)

Thanks for the advice, will try complete setup and see.

I changed servers that I wanted to access. When I changed "general setting", fine. When I go to "Incoming settings" the user name is greyed out with old setting and will not change. Everything else will be no good without changing user name. What the heck am I overlooking here?
When i go into the app again and check my existing settings my username is greyed out too. Maybe try and delete the lot and start afresh?

I tried to do this and it keeps coming back. Downloaded k9; works very much faster. Think I will try for a while. Thanks.
I had tried to make my Keyguard go off when I'm at my home wifi, and it simply doesn't work. I'm using tasker and I'm using the same profile as I did on my SGS2 and that was perfect but the HTC One is a bit more trouble some with this setting. If anyone has done this and got it to work successfully please include it. Much appreciated to sharing your time.

I am having the same problem with tasker, I am gonna try older version of tasker!!
I just started using Tasker... and it really works funkily. I have used Tasker itself and Secure Settings, both, to disable the keyguard when I am connected to my WIFi... And sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes while I am using the phone and hit the Android Home button, it actually goes to the Pattern input lock screen.
I am using CM10 with Action Launcher on a Samsung Galaxy Nexus 16gb GSM
Ok this is driving me crazy, randomly the app watch on will pop up in my notification bar. I disable it and it will just pop up again at a random time. Does anyone know how to permanently remove? besides freezing it of course

This just started happening to me the other day. I don't understand why because it hasn't done it before. I too disabled the notification and it automatically turns itself back on. I cleared the data and started over but that did not help. I froze the app with tbu a little bit ago because I rarely use it. It is frustrating because that is one of the only Samsung apps that I like. I too would like to know of a fix for it.

holllly cow. I have been battling this for 3 days now. I thought it was just my phone being supper glitchy. I have gone as far as to uninstall the app... witch will stop it from comming up in the notification bar. Then i re download it from play store. After about 4 reboots it comes back. I will set it in the setting to not come on in notification pannel. Boom its back. No way to stop it..... same with a few other apps. Its like they do not close the correct way and do not save the settings. My swannview dvr app is one more that wont save settings because it won't close correctly.
I don't know if this narrows it down but I noticed when I had wifi turned off I never got it but the second I turned it back on it started popping up again.
I have the same problem. This morning, while trying to disable the notification bar setting again, I got nag popup about allowing Watchon to use mobile data or only wifi. I selected the allow mobile data option and do not ask me again. Now, I can't find the setting to change it back to see if that would affect the notification bar problem. I don't want to test all of the settings because I would lose the devices that I have setup. I assume the problem is caused by an update to Watchon. The only thing I have changed recently us switching to Nova Launcher. Could this be related?

Judging by this I would assume it is the location settings that is triggering this. Try to go to system settings > More > Location services > My places > Choose the places and click none. I can't confirm this works, but it seems that this is triggering for the problem. Also note this isn't a great solution; other location services may be affected with this change.
This is caused by the latest WatchOn update.
I use WatchOn since the day I get my S4 Active (2 months ago) and this NEVER HAPPENED before the update.
I had to disable WatchOn with TB.
Another example of Samsung messing up good stuff!

It has nothing to do with location services. All of mine were already set to none, and I have the same problem.

Sorry then, it must have been the WatchON lock screen location settings I was thinking of. No clue, honestly.
So did this ever get worked out? I just got the note 3 and am already seeing this behavior.
SOLUTION!..
Here is how i disabled remote control on notification panel and lock screen.
Its on Watchon Settings.
watch work done
This is what I did:
Settings
More
Application Manger
Samsung WatchOn
Remove the check for "Show Notifications"
This doesn't stop the program from starting on powerup, but it removes it from the notifications.
This is a thread that should be closed. The problem was fixed by an update. I can confirm that it did exist at one time, but the only people that still have thre problem either have not updated or they have not changed their settings.

I have a GS6 64GB running the latest OTA and rooted on Ping Pong Root. I am trying to automate starting my wifi hotspot and the third party apps don't seem to work so I figured I would use tasker to input a couple of taps but the command won't run. Wondering if anyone else has run in to this. I have given tasker root privilege and enabled its accessibility setting. The circle in the tasker UI goes red and it never completes the task. I never had an issue on my GS5. I tried the swipe command as well with the same outcome. I also opened a terminal window to run the command and it said the tap command didn't exist. I ran the swipe command in terminal and it worked but taskers run shell > input swipe didn't. Any help would be great. Ultimately I want a way to get Wifi hotspot to turn on when it sees my cars bluetooth. I have AT&T so i need to swipe on then verify so it is a couple steps.
I've been trying to do the exact same thing with no luck. I replicated the same thing on my s4 that I recently got running lollipop. Not sure if its a Samsung lollipop issue or a lollipop issue in general.
The only thing I was able to do to make it easier was add a quick settings toggle to enable it. Makes it a little easier. I just wish I could get rid of the warning about turning wifi off and having to tap ok.

After doing some research I found its an issue with new 64 bit devices. Anyway I found a work around using secure settings plugin. The input tap command works if you use the secure settings plugin and put the command in there.

That's good to know. After I was able to accomplish that. It just the secure setting method to activate WiFi hotspot and the tasked WiFi tether function and they both work now. I didn't notice am update to either but I'm glad it work now.

I'm curious what you did to make the wifi hotspot functions work in securesettings? I'm rooted with pingpong but if I run a task to enable wifi hotspot it fails every time.

It works in secure settings and just the wifi tether in tasker. I'm not really sure what I did. Used the input tap method to activate it. And tried after that and it worked. Didn't try it right before that tho. I'm running stock rooted oe2 (I think that's it, the update). I have the WiFi tether mod installed but that's only to get rid of the verify process it did when I turn it on. It didn't work after that I tried.

Hi all.
I am sure this question has been asked again and again.
But I am having troubles with push notifications working for some apps
I.e. Pushbullet, kaokaotalk
They don't work unless i open the app.
WhatsApp and Facebook seem to be working fine.
Anyone have an absolute fix?

Even gmail and Google inbox don't work.
They have been setup as protected apps etc already

Try adding them to the memory whitelist.
Phone manager>system optimization (paintbrush)>settings (gear top right)>memory cleanup whitelist
My understanding is apps in this list will not clear the memory when you "kill" the app. I could be wrong. Please respond to this post if this fixes your problem or not.
Two important settings, under Battery (protected) and under "Apps" (ignore optimization). Also try to put CPU to performance

Solve -> Problem with Pushover notification on lockscreen
my notification did not show on notification and lock screen.
1. Phone manager>system optimization (paintbrush)>settings (gear top right)>memory cleanup whitelist
2. Setting>advanced settings>Battery manager>Power plan> Smart or Performance>
3. Setting>advanced settings>Battery manager>Protected apps> Turn on for Whatsapp and Pushover
4. Clean Master < I think this is the culprit causing problem > Ensure Tools>Notification Cleaner is disable. My was enabled. and it cause notification not to show on the Lock Screen.

I have a note 8, but emui 4.1 is pretty standard across the line. Having the exact same issue. Have tried the PNF, whitelisted google play and whatsapp in the memory whitelist, protected apps, ignore battery optimizations etc.
I can repeat the error. So it seems that it ignores the whitelist like you suspected.
Steps. Clear all apps.
Open quicksync manually sync accounts that i want to show up.
Notifications appear.
Go to app task manager view with the square button, kill app.
Send message. No dice.
Have even tried using the PNF heartbeat fix, but to no effect.
Now i have one odd issue. When i received the device, google play services was already installed, but some how it was in the system folder despite the phone being locked. Not sure if that is an issue, since if anything i would suspect that would be helpful instead of harmful, but i have no way of removing it to test since bootloader is locked , and the play services is persistent over a factory reset.
Anyways, any other solutions i have not thought of would be helpful, huawei makes such nice devices, but if you get stuck on a chinese rom, it can be a nightmare for some.. went through the same headache with mate 7 but managed to solve its notifications issues.

Yes I have tried that. For now I think i will just add my chat clients and aquamail to the locked status on the task manager and keep them open... I have tried all iterations of power saving, etc.. so I think it may just be the build unfortuneately. Hopefully EMUI 5.0 will be a bit less invasive, as they said they are going back to a more stock android vibe to compete in international markets.
Hello, I am in the exact same situation. Did you get some luck?
I updated mine to emui5, but nothing changed.
Do you have a AL10 chinese version? I am thinking that this might be the point.
Thank you.
