Unbrick or something - Huawei P10 Questions & Answers

Hello I have a VTR-L09 (Australian) with stock Pie on it. I unlocked the bootloader with the code from Huawei. Then I installed the openkirin AOSP 10 Preview 2 on it which led me to not being to connect to the internet and only occasionally being able to make calls, so that was junk...
Then I tried to install TWRP and FutureROM, but something must have gone wrong (pos user error) and now I can't even use the erecovery as it, after getting the last firmware, throws a "can't verify" error. I since tried to install TWRP via fastboot, but even though it reports success, when I try to boot into TWRP recovery all I get is a screen similar to the fastboot screen only with the below message
ERROR MODE
Attention!
Please update system again
Error!
Func NO: 11 (recovery image)
Error NO: 2 (load failed!)
When I try to boot iut just gets me to the FASTBOOT&RESCUE MODE screen
Is the phone bricked? Where to from here to get it back on stock ROM?
Thank you kindly!!!

Perhaps the device cannot verify the recovery image.
If bootloader is still unlocked, try to flash stock recovery and see what happens.

Huawei P9 can only get to fastboot

I think I killed my phone, I have the huawei P9 (EVA-AL00). I unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP.
I flashed CM12, and different versions or the Huawei OS. at some point I must of broke with phone as now I cannot even get to the huawei built in recovery system. TWRP is gone, I reflashed that but the phone will not shut off to boot into recovery. It will stay at the "your device has been unlocked and cant be trusted" screen and just says your device is booting now... But nothing happens. When I press the power button to shut it off it just does a double vibrate and goes back to the same screen. Any ideas? ADB commands do not seem to work, only fastboot commands work. I tried to flash other roms and I get FAILED (remote: partition length get error) errors when flashing system.img files.
Please help.

I have had the exact same issue with my Huawei P9 (EVA-L09) and thought my phone is gone for good, but I managed to solve it by force upgrading to the default ROM. Check this thread:

XT1064 Stuck in fastboot mode (Recovery option wont open)

Hi guys, I buyed a phone used phone with this problem. The original owner tryed to flash a custom rom and at the middle of the progress the phone shut down because low battery. Then, when they turned on the phone, it only boot in fastboot mode. In fastboot mode, Recovery option wont open, Normal boot wont open too. The bootloader is unlocked. Then, i tryed to flsah a 5.0.2 stock rom but the console show me up an error like "FAILED" or "bootloader FAILED" The phone shows "recovery downgrade" in purple. I tryed 6.0.0 too and Kit Kat for the XT1064 USA version. I cant flash nothing, always the same error. i installed Motorola drivers, ADB, etc. Any help?
Bootloader version is: 48.07. I serarched this number in google and it shows a 5.1.1 custom rom. Propably this rom was the same that he tryed to flash before, i dont know. Unlocked status also is 3.
Edit 1: When a choose "Normal boot" it says: Invalid boot Image Header! Fastboot reason: Fall-Through from recovery boot mode.
When i choose "Recovery" it says: Invalid boot Image Header
boot up failed
When i choose "Factory": The phone just restarts into fastboot again...
Checking Motorola Device Update, the firmware inside this phone is: 21.11.17.titan.retuaws.retuaws.en.us what it means, it have android 5.0.2 Lollipop, right?
Hope you can help me
Thanks.

Help needed: Attention: Please update system again (Func No: 11 / Error : No 2)

Hi guys,
I bought the phone from ebay as they said it was stuck in fastboot mode after an OTA update, and having unlocked and played around with custom roms on several other phones I thought "No problem".
However, this is a problem. The phone is not stuck in fastboot mode, and I cannot get the phone to boot into fastboot mode. It is not seen by my computer
On turning on, it shows the Huawei Logo and then shows the message that the phone is unlocked and cannot be trusted and I should visit:
http://zh.ui.vmail.com/emotiondownload.php?mod=restore
If I hold down vol down + power it says 'Your device is booting now' but nothing happens.
Pressing power, or vol up + power, or just the power button, or leaving it then boots to mr green android with the message:
Attention! Please update system again
Error
Func No: 11 (recovery image)
Error No : 2 (load failed)
I have tried:
Booting into fastboot mode via vol down + power
DC Phoenix (as mentioned here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3759988)

I do not know if the bootloader is unlocked.
Also, it won't turn on at all if it is not plugged in so doesn't seem to be holding charge or battery information. It boots automatically once it's been charging for a couple of minutes,
Help much appreciated!
UPDATE - I can now get into fastboot mode. I sat with my finger on the vol down button until it gained enough power to turn on.
Phone is unlocked
FRP Unlock
UPDATE
I ran the DC Phoenix update and half-way through the phone turned off and now won't turn on again. It doesn't look as if it's even charging anymore. (as per this thread: https://forum.dc-unlocker.com/forum...-plus-not-powering-or-charging-after-flashing)
Marvellous. I'll continue to investigate. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know,
Any news here? Same issue on my device. Unfortunately I can't get into fastboot, I only see:
Attention! Please update system again
Error Mode
Func No: 11 (recovery image)
Error No : 2 (load failed)
It's not even recognised via USB. Maybe the phone still thinks it has to make the low level format after unlocking the bootloader, but can't start any of the recovery.
This is my most expensive brick so far...
On my phone I tried to revert to stock recovery within TWRP and flashed the recovery.img to recovery partition.
After doing this, recovery wasn't working and I unlocked the bootloader. Since that moment I cannot get into fastboot.
Attention! Please update system again

Man I have the same problem. Sorry I'm a beginner and I can't help you. I wanted to ask if you have some tips.
I have that error if I try to enter in TWPR but I can boot in eRecovery and the smartphone turns on and works normally.
I tried to reset by eRecovey but error occurs just the same.
What can I do?

Bricked P10. No recovery, erecovery or boot. How to recover? Lots of info in post.

Then, after a few seconds, restarts
Shows above screen again, indefinitely
How it Got There
Would not boot, had above TWRP image flashed and working (ADB working also). Followed this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-update-package-t3593108 with the appropriate firmware zips (again, can't link those, but I believe they're correct).
The manual update package was Base + Linux + P10. The hwota.sh file in the guide was edited to comment out the TWRP installation that was part of it (it didn't work, even after changing the targeted partition to recovery_ramdisk instead of ramdisk).
The goof was that I initially actually ran Same brand update first instead of rebrand. Gosh darn rebrand is the second option instead of the first.
I've had a shot at using Huawei Multitool's "unbrick" option to unbrick it, but no dice. Does anyone have any clue where to go from here?

I think we have the same problem and I have no clue how to proceed to recovery mode. I've made a thread with images.
enter fastboot
fastboot flash system system.img
reboot
OK
I Have exactly same problem, does anyone know how to fix it please ?
Same here
What I did was unlock it, get TWRP on it and then flashed PixelExperience GSI onto it.
Since our issue is exactly the same (although the way we got there is different), on one of the flashes i tried running
Code:
adb reboot "dm-verity permissive"
and it did let me boot once, but it never boots again.
Not only that, i suspect the whole system partition is encrypted too.
Could someone experienced make a GSI flashing tutorial that the phone actually survives?
No solution?
Flash kernel.img? Worth trying
I have that error if I try to enter in TWPR but I can boot in eRecovery and the smartphone turns on and works normally.
Someone could say more about this?

did you manage to fix it?
I'm in the same boat with my p10 plus: no recovery or erecovery, can't boot upgrade, only options are flash or bootloop when booting into system.

Hey, sorry to all for not being on here for so long! I'm afraid I've not found a solution myself. It was with a friend's phone, and he ended up opting to get a new one. We didn't manage to fix it in that time, and it's not around anymore to try new things on.
So apologies for not being able to provide a solution, but I hope the details let people find a solution at some point!

[Help][James][Sprint] Need help to force EDL mode

Hi i have a model XT1921-5. It got stuck in the logo screen and couldnt boot into recovery so i tried a rescue with the RSA, it detected the phone in fastboot and found the firmware but failed flashing it. Now it only boots into fastboot.
When flashing the firmware manually only gpt.bin fails but the phone is still stuck in fastboot (failed to validate hab image - failed to validate boot image. same with recovery image). I tried everything i could but nothing worked out.
I think my only "chance" is to try a blankflash. The problem is that my bootloader is locked (never unlocked) so i cant do fastboot oem edl, i cant find anything about test points for this model.. So im looking for a way to maybe hard brick the phone to force it boot into EDL mode and try the blankflash. Unless there's a way to set the OEM unlock option via fastboot..
I appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance.
I was able to put my phone on QDL mode via test point.
Now i tried to flash the blankflash but it throws the error "XML (0 bytes) not validated"..
Does anyone knows what this error means? If is a version mismatch then i cant find a newer version of this blankflash..
Any help is always appreciated.
For anyone interested this is the test point you need to short to boot into QDL mode
