Hello,
Much thanks in Advance to whom ever looking forward to help here.
I am running N950USQU5DRL7.
was at CRIA upgraded to CRJ3, did CRJ3 to CRK1, and finally CRK1 to DRL7 as per recommended by firmware science.
Now firmware science doesn't show any update regarding where to go next after DRL7 with December 2018 security patch.
Is there any newer firmware that I can load, from DRL7 and get latest security patches and updates. Kindly guide.
Much obliged.
Just google search latest firmware for your device. What carrier are you on? I will check for you..or go to Frija, Sammobile, put in what device you have and it will give you the latest firmware. Then use odin to flash the firmware after you extract AP..BL..CP...CSC.. if you want to keep data flash HOME_CSC instead of CSC

Edit. Sorry I thought you were the OP for some reason.

Thank you for your replies.
I am attaching down below the current status of the software information. Running 950USQU5DRL7. I am not on any Carrier. I can tell that by the fact, no carrier logo shows up at start. So let's just say it is the unlocked version. I followed updates from firmware science and reached till the DRL7 which updated it to 9.0. I am also not in the region hence not received any OTA updates and only reason I decided to manually update using ADB sideload update.zip process. Also the update list for different carriers such as update version list doesn't include 950USQU5DRL7 which was recommended by firmware science. As you can down below with attachment that I am running old security patch and need to update. Kindly advice. Much obliged.
I usually run the OTA update via the settings menu usually works like a dream. I only had one hickup with the OTA and that was early this year. When Samsung released a bonked OS update, which was fixed with a few days later.
I soft-bricked my device and my 1st attempt at reinstall stock firmware failed. 2nd attempt now, it takes really long at this point maybe 15-30mins.
I know my phone is verzion (vzw) and definitely n950u1, but I'm not sure if I'm selecting the wrong firmware to update my phone with using Odin.
I'm using sfirmware and sammobile to find my firmware.

Can anyone upload a odin version of this update for non-rooted phones? It would be greatly appreciated.

I don't believe if there is a PA3 for G900A. PA2 is the latest version for the phone.

You are correct; it is an update to bring the phone up to date with Android Security Patch: 2016-05-01. I wonder if AT&T is switching to monthly software updates. If that is the case, then any kind of root solution would be very short lived before they issue a patch for it.

By the way, for unknown reasons Chrome can't open the link for me, while MS Edge loads the page just fine.
Anyone with G900A PA3 odin files yet by any chance?
Yes, does anyone have these files? Thanks
I'd also like to have the Odin Stock PA3 files. Using AT&T -_- not sure what to do here... towelroot didn't like it. I made sure unknown sources... etc..
i want to downgrade as far down as possible so it can be rooted. And how is PA3 able downgrade to OA1? How are they compatible?
I don't mind downgrading as long as it doesn't trip the warranty (if it was my phone i would have already done it successfully) ... but that's what my sister's phone came with. Trying to help her out. please, if anyone has a way to root or can confirm that the downgrade won't 110% brick it.. I really don't know which ones I can actually downgrade with.. some are able to go from PA2 to PA1 no problems and some report bricks-- as long as I can get to download mode (and i even have some jigs to make sure or at least try) ... if i can get that even water downgrading as mentioned above, then i'll try it.. anyone?
We're on PA4 now..

I'd rather stay on PA3 unless it means you can root it on there.. heh. Thats the whole point. and I told her to come running to me if AT&T asked for an update.. I clogged up the cache and her SD card so that it wouldn't be able to run until.. well, until i can get root access on the damn thing.
There seems to be some sort of update for my LG G4 H811 (T-Mobile). I'm already on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, so what could this be? I can't update due to having TWRP installed, so I was hoping to find this update on the web somewhere. I checked T-Mobile's site and the highest they have listed is 6.0.1 from last year. Any idea where I can find this update?

Any idea if a flashable zip exists?
Or any way to go back to stock recovery? I'm currently using H811V20r_00_0111.kdz w/ TWRP.
EDIT
I found the stock recovery for the H815. Do you think it'll work on my H811?

To be honest no clue as I have never went stock recovery
It won't update because you probably have unlocked bootloader in addition to not having stock recovery. One option to update that worked for me (albeit you loose all data on phone as it resets when you relock bootloader, but that will probably happen anyways if you could update) was to go into fastboot menu, lock the bootloader, then turn off phone by removing battery (saves a lot of time by skipping the unnecessary rebooting), reinsert battery, put phone in download mode by holding vol up button as you plug usb cable that is connected to your computer. At this point, you can use LG Bridge 'update error recovery' option to get the latest stock rom and recovery reinstalled on your phone. Before you do all this, do realize that LG and T-MOBILE stopped updating or supporting this phone long ago and security updates only go up to April of 2017, so doing all this for an incremental update may not be even worth it.
Ever since I got the official beta build a few months ago, I no longer get OTA updates. I have had to flash all my updates through either ODIN (to get off of the beta back to stable) or Smart Switch. I posted the following thread on reddit and they told me that somehow I flashed ATT data to my phone, but I don't think I ever did that. I have only used the XAA firmware since I have a factory unlocked Note 8 that I bought directly from Samsung. Here is a image of what my recovery shows now:

Any ideas about how to get it back to Block-Based OTA instead of File Based and also how to fix the errors?
Thanks!
Bump - Anyone?
I have the same issue. believe it is due to the pie beta, tried odin and OTAs still don't work. rip for us
I also have N950U1 and flashed the beta Pie version and beta updates from SD-card as Zip files.
When official Pie was available, I used Smart Switch; I had to downgrade first to latest Oreo version. Thereafter OTA worked again, for initial upgrade to Pie and subsequent updates.
My advise, try downgrading through Smart Switch.

If I am already on the latest update, is it still possible to download back to Oreo from Pie? Would I have to do this through Odin?
I downgraded through Smart Switch, it indicated to do so...

I have no idea then. I only get update prompts when I connect to SmartSwitch, which is how I have had to update since exiting the Beta.
Odd one here, I'm seeing lots of folks posting about getting updates but I'm not receiving any.
Trying to manually check for updates in settings just says I'm on latest version...

Different region firmware not reccomended to flash unless you know how to unbrick it in the event it happens.
Also the fact that you may trip knox if u brick ur device and do other stuff to revieve it.

It is OXM firmware so its like universal.
You cannot trip knox with stock firmware.
I'll read through but will probably hold off on flashing as I don't fully understand the different region versions.
Want to understand it a bit better first so I'll read up on it and bide my time to see if the updates get pushed out to me soon.
Fingers crossed they do!
Cheers.
Good timing as update rolled out to me this morning...
think I'm still behind though!

Dunno about that, I just received this update and I've been getting them one a week or seems since release. Kernel was built 5 days ago so I suspect your on the latest out there..
I got that update a day ago... on unlocked/stock samsung firmware so i think you're current
AUB9 is latest
Aub9 today uk virgin media
I'm pretty sure I'm seeing a substantial camera improvement which is great. No other big changes jumping out at me though.
So I've been stuck on November update since forever, I check every day for new updates but nothing.
Is anyone having the same issue?

Are you using a device which wasn't offered by your service provider? You may need to flash different firmware.
Did you flash your current FW, or did you receive it via OTA? What is your phone's CSC?
If you flashed it earlier, flash again. If not be patient....

I've never flashed anything, I'm using the phone as I bought it about a year ago. I travel a lot though, so I change sim cards quite frequently.
My CSC is G998BOXM3BUK8

Changing SIM-cards regularly could be the cause...
What is shown under software version under phone info - software details - software version provider? (Or similar menu names) See attached SS.
You could consider flashing latest FW. This threat provides all info...
