If you want to improve performance and battery of your galaxy phone then install Samsung App Booster which optimizes all the apps of system and improves the performance and battery life of Your Galaxy Note 8.
You just have to download samsung app booster from chrome and install the fine lock app from play store. After installing these two apps open the fine lock app from fine lock app open samsung app Booster and click optimise and wait until the it finishes. After finishing close the app and enjoy.
Note: It works one every galaxy phone running on android pie (9.0). It is not a third party app It's Samsung's official app so it really improves device performance, stability and battery life.

If you found a thread on the topic, then why open a new one??? ??
I hate that Samsung is following shady Chinese vendor behaviors. This and many other good lock apps just feel like Clean Master style apps. And as you all know, Clean Master and releated apps were shady spywares. I hope one day Samsung will change their behavior and act more formally. At least just tell what this app does so that we can trust it.

I updated my SamsungApps apps and found a banner on top under the tabs. It reads "Android Samsung Apps Open". Is Samsung opening its own apps store for Android? I suspect.
Not much apps inside right now, but if this apps store is real, do expect Samsung to add more and more apps into it later..
Samsung Apps has been there a wee while now
Similar to Sony Ericsson with their Play Store

I don't have this kind of problems at all. Maybe you should try a reboot of your phone.

Bada
Somewhat related - if you look in the terms and conditions of signing up for a Samsung account (the one in Software Update that is) the word "Bada" appears quite often.
It seems that Samsung account has been imported from there - maybe just the same update mechanism. But I would not be surprised if there would be created compatibility to run apps on the other platform - a bit like the rumored "blackberry running android apps".

I noticed you had changed kernels. I did that and got all of the problems you listed. Trust me, its not L its whatever kernel you're using or even user error. Even greenify works now, but most root apps require a permissive kernel...sounds like you don't have one possibly, if you are rooted there's an SELinux policy changer app that will at the click of a button, modify the kernel between enforced and permissive. I use code blue, FK didn't work for me. Also not sure this thread will be open much longer. All the best.
Try posting this in general in the Lollipop thread.

Yea I don't have those problems either. I have had the keyboard predictions not come up some times though. I have also had the play music app bug which is really annoying me because I just bought some Bluetooth headphones and its ruining the hands free experience.
In recents/overview, after clearing all apps sometimes apps pop up if you tap the recents button again like Phone, Android System etc. Anyone else having this issue?
I'm having almost all those same problems as OP...I have it with FK. KitKat was way better and buttery smooth, no issues really. The one thing I really like about 5.0 is the lockscreen notifications..long overdue feature. Missing feature though: control time of music from lock screen.

Sent from my Android 5.0 Nexus 5
There is something wrong with your image installation and or kernel and or phone.
I don't have any of the problems you listed after 2 days heavy use. My only complain is the lack of silent mode.

No offence mate, but calling this thread "all you need to know" is wrong.
I disagree with everything you said, having used heavily since about an hour after the image was posted by Google.
To suggest that your opinion is all people need to know is just plain wrong.
90% of root apps? Nonsense. Every root app I need works.
Crashes in chrome? None here. Same with all the gapps.
Most apps don't work proper? Really?
Launcher lags? Nope. And that word is thrown about all the time with no explanation or quantification.
You should at the least change the title of the thread.

Please Do not install Camera and Google app from M preview, Just stick to current Google play updates, Installing any App from M preview will make you regret.
Camera app:
Camera app from M preview don't have any special feature or extra features as compared to current google play version and it lags on our device, So stick to Current Google Play version it is Stable.
Google app:
It consumes more ram and battery, Launcher have app drawer just like Nokia's S60 app drawer but with white background, You Cannot revert back to older version after installing M preview version, The only way to go back is factory reset, So be careful...
Well, I didn't notice any lag whatsoever..
i like the app drawer. and i dont have any battery issues. so what's the point?
Sent from my MITO_A10 using XDA Forums
No battery issues or lags with either of apps for me. You can remove Google app; just replace the base.apk at /data/apps/com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox-1/ with the playstore version.
only bugs I've faced: photosphere FC, OK Google doesn't work.

Hello guys,
When I go to the multi app page in my Note 5, going back to the app that I have previously used,
I often find the app restarting instead of resuming from the place where I stopped.
Is there a way to keep the app in the background for a longer time so that I can have a better multi-tasking experience?
(I am pretty sure Note 5 have enough ram for these tasks, I am not using memory-demanding apps)
Does it have anything to do with my only cleaning app Greenify that hibernates background app?
Btw my note 5 is rooted
Thanks a lot!

I think the only thing I have disabled is Facebook from app info. I have used package disabler. Mine is unlocked though. But so far my battery life has been off the charts so Samsung finally made a phone that behaves well when not using it.
I am still waiting to do a couple of minor mods and optimizations. I don't think my battery will improve noticeably seeing as how well behaved it is currently with little tweaking from me.

Good for u. I am facing lag on home screen from day 1.
I use google calendar widget n gmail widget for work.
My setup right now is, using package disabler pro disabled all bloatware option which disabled galaxy apps as well (~64+ apps/services disabled with that option). Also disabled bixby, dex related packages/services as I dont use them. Removed google calendar widget too.
Not sure what helped but no lag in last 48 hrs.
