[Q] Instagram for Android

I would like to know if anyone has tried Instagram on their Nexus One and it crashes after choosing a filter for a photo and processing it. I am running MIUI Gingerbread.

Bump. Anyone have an answer? Surely at least someone here has Instagram? Or could someone at least download it from the market and try applying a filter and processing as photo.

We are working to address an issue where the Android app crashes and returns users to the Instagram Feed screen (without uploading the photo) or crashes back to the device's home screen on some devices when trying to apply a filter.
Some users have fixed this issue by increasing the camera resolution setting from their device camera's settings, or by updating to the newest operating system available for their device.
Please note that some devices seeing this crash do not support OpenGL ES 2, which is the technology required to power Instagram's filters. Devices that do not support OpenGL ES 2 will not be able to run Instagram properly. Find more information on whether your device is supported.

Well anyway, I just flashed to MIUI.us ICS ROM. So I am gonna try on that to see if it works.

I think I figured out what was wrong. It's probably the ROM itself that was causing problems. When I switched to MIUI.us Ice Cream Sandwich Instagram worked for me. Try switching to a different ROM to see if that works.

I'm having the same issue on AOKP build 28. Mine also crashes when trying to take a photo from within the app, not just when trying to use a photo already in your gallery.

Same problem, N1 with MeDroid 7.2 and the last Instagram's update....

Same problem on my N1 with ICS. I'm running BCMRC3.4Update1 and Instagram also crashed immediately after applying a filter. I suspect an OpenGL issue but I have no clue on how to resolve.

Instragram filters are now working for me, I switched to a new kernel which apparently also came with updated andreno libs. If you're running BCMRC3.4Update1 (or similar ICS ROM) then this might help you too. Hi, i found some serious bug, the Contacts app crashing when i try to open the details of any contact in my list (tried with alpha1 and 2 as well). Any hint how this can be solved?

Thanks for that.. At this point in time i dont suggest using at as a daily driver just yet as it is in very early stages of development from the cyanogenmod team... Hopefully when they update sources and do more fixes it will fix these problems..nust need to hang tight they are working as hard as they can to fix problems

Data connection won't work and my signal bar is grayed out. Might have no signal at all or just a display bug. Also, I noticed that kernels can't be installed on this yet, at least for me.

Its OK now, but it would be nice if we could get the ability to disable the hardware keys and have a navigation bar.
Even without it, its one of the best ROMs I've ever installed

Its not needed for this device but if you want soft nav keys type this in the build.prop

I like it cuz I play some games and I don't want to accidentally touch back or menu-button

For me the problem with network is during roaming

Performance
Experience with this rom:
Experienced a giant drop in performance in batt save mode. The whole system seems unstable and about to crash, and even youtube videos stutter, so I can't rely on it just yet. Without it, the experience is smoother overall compared to 5.0, but I'm still noticing lower fps in 3d games. I would assume it might be the GPU clock , but I'm not sure. Also, LTE works perfectly on this, but sometimes the signal drops, usually recovering after a min. Google messenger app receives messages, but can't send for me, so if anyone got that installed with the stock gapps and has this problem, you can use hangouts instead.
Apart from those issues, everything is working great. :good:

[No Root]Stock Camera apps ported from other devices

This is one of the best phone for its price (for the price i got it tho) but one of the only cons of this phone is the plain camera app. The camera is itself good but the camera app is not upto the mark. Its simple but not great so I tried to search for stock camera apps from other phones and try it on k10. I myself did not port any of these because i haven't rooted it yet and so porting is difficult without rooting.
1) H2O camera from One Plus:

i wanted camera app from honor 8 and one more thing i wanted is that touch assistant from miui i tried to install it.. but couldnt do so.. i tried to install miui assistant apk with adb pc then i got error as com.uid.system signature error..
the reason i wanted miui touch assistant is that i am using my moto g4 plus in immersive mode due to which nav bar is hidden so i wanted to navigate through my phone with miui touch assistant.. ...

Sorry for coming back to you really late as I didn't receive any reply email, (maybe I missed it or I might have it turned off). Lg phones have touch assistant too, go to the accessability tab in settings or maybe pressing home button 3 times would ask to enable touch assistant. But if you want the MIUI one, unfortunately the only ik atm requires a rooted phone, so I have to look into for a non rooted one. Meanwhile you you can use apps like easytouch from play store. Hope you already have your problem solved

what about meizu phone touch assistant ? its the best touch assistant i have ever seen.. you can use it as a joystick.. for navigation through immersive mode of android.
is it possible to port that ?

I don't think I might be able to find one as most touch assistants require root and so the only solution is to use one from play store, I still am looking into it. But anyways I found meizu camera working properly with live filters and will add it to this thread.

So you have a rooted phone? Well thank you but I don't like to be credited for what I haven't done. I have already mentioned somewhere in the thread that I myself didn't port these apps as I don't have my phone phone rooted, I came from Samsung which isn't a mess to root and recover as compared to what I researched on lg. I try them on my phone, troubleshoot em, seeing if there is any issue with the app. Try different things with the apps, look into em and stuff. But I didn't port any of em completely. But back to the topic, if you have rooted device, I guess there is a way to get the MIUI touch assistant

Huawei P9 back camera issue

Hi guys,
Anyone's P9 have the same problem?
Opening the app only leads to camera UI but with a black screen. No change when switching to the front camera. Front camera still works when using Mirror app.
I've already tried clearing the camera cache method as well as reinstalling the firmware to the official huawei website release version.
Any ideas? Or is it an issue with the camera module? Any sort of help will be highly appreciated.

google cam 4.4 with hdr+ crashing

my mother, aunt and uncle all use the redmi 4x. I installed xiaomi.eu 9.1.2.0 on my mother phone + magisk + api module and gcam 4.4 hdr+. everything works. stock cam, gcam.
my aunt saw the photos and wanted the same so I did. everything the same, works aswell.
now my uncle wanted the same and I installed but with newer version 9.2.1.0. stock cam crashes. gcam crashes aswell. without api stock cam works.
now I updated my mother to 9.2.1.0 too, stock cam stopped working but gcam still works. so how I get the gcam to work on my uncles phone??

Stock camera stopped beign compatible with camera2api since 7.12.28 update, so every new update has this problem including the latest global stable. Till now the only way to fix this is installing modded miui camera or rollback to miui 7.12.21 or a previous version. For gcam, I'm not sure why it doesn't work in one of your phones, but try this one with manual focus, you can take photos with portrait mode in front camera too.
In fact I was in oreo, but decided to give another try to miui, since oreo still has a annoying bug with multitouch even now that it's pretty much stable. So now I have miui.am. not the official miui. But I can confirm that both cameras work. Only problem for me is that miui camera has less options for some reason, I still need to test. And in gcam everything work just fine, I can use all the options like camcorder, face retouch and portrait mode in front camera without any crash or need to change settings, like before in oreo. Only problem is that you still need to set the iso manually.

mine uncle got it to work but with nexus 6p settings, your settings gives him a black screen. do you have a autofokus version? no auto fokus in videos is noticable.

I have the same version that I posted to you, from the mega link. Tbh I'm not sure what makes some version work on certain roms, while in other doesn't. Im using clarity kernel, but if I'm not mistaken it worked also on stock kernel. On miui eu it worked fine for me too

thats weird that I have 0 problems on my mothers phone but uncle got always 1 problem. I can use your config on my mother and it works. on uncle it's black screen. then he can use camera with nexus 6p config but then front cam not working. I think I read that many xiaomi phones got diferrent displays / fingerscanner / cams etc.

Yeah, that may be the cause. It's common to see the same redmi 4x with different hardware like screen type, fingerprint sensor and even the led, some has only white led when others have full rgb led like mine.
Anyway, check here. There is a lot of gcam's versions. With some luck, one of them will work on your uncle's phone.

does this work for you alright? on my mothers and uncles it gets an error after 1 shot and crashes.

Yeah, unfortunately it didn't work well for me too. I tried to see if arnovaG82 would fix it, but seems like not. So righ now I'm on Multipro 7.12.14 build, with little but nice customization, but more important both cameras work fine.
This modded camera seems like it doesn't work well on miui roms for some reason. I tried it on newest and some old miui builds, and neither worked fine. I'm not sure why, I can remember that it worked before. Now only if I flash it on a custom rom it work fine.
